At my school on Monday was talking to a class of 12 and 13 year olds about cancer. Before she was a teacher she was a scientist. One of the things she did was look at the effects that polluted air has on skin. She distilled b some very polluted air and applied the residual substance to skin..within a very short time the skin cells became cancerous. So if you ride your bike to work through the CBD of any city, you might be negating the benefits of the exercise by putting yourself at risk of some form of cancer..catch a bus xxFreya

Thoughts with you and your dad xxx My grandmothers, my mother and my younger brother all had cancer. My mum and brother survived. although my mum has her first check up in 2 weeks. Im very lucky to have them both. I still dont know why, in this day and age that they havent found a cure for this awful disease? Or have they? There are theories , but hopefully they are too outrageous to be true. I want to make a special mention here....Unicorn99, a lovely girl who has beautiful long hair, is shaving it all off for cancer. Uni, you have a huge heart...... xx Hopefully in our lifetime there will be something that can be done to halt this disease.

My beautiful man was diagnosed with kidney cancer in July 2014. He did have his left kidney removed and his recovery was long ! Every 12 weeks he has the full tests to monitor how he is going! It's never far from our minds :( even before his diagnosis however we have always supported cancer causes. Every year I have a Girls night in for cancer research and always have a major function in Movember and raise money for men's cancers. It's only a little part, but I pledge to constantly do what I can to support raising funds for the prevention or cure of cancers. Mary xx To all of us affected by cancer, hugs and my love! Mary xx

Yesterday my dad was asked if he would be interested in a new trail that's recently been brought in Australia. He said yes of course! His thoughts were "They have to find a cure! If it can help fellow patients and children in the future I'm all for it." This trail focuses ones immune system to make it stronger. I think the main issue with trails is the cost of research involved. So Unicorn that's a yes from me! Ms Foxy

I missed my chance to push choccies and lollies to support someone dear to me who is not at all active but they will be making the effort to walk 60 kms in 2 days as well as all the training they've been putting in nearly every day to be ready for the walk, which they will only be able to do as long as they've raised the amount they need to meet to be able to walk. No, really no likes for me. I'm simply proud of all their effort. Just got to stop them eating all the choccies and lollies they bought to fundraise with. LOL :-Peachy

I could have put that differently..My bad Unicorn, I understand what you're giving up and admire what you're doing in a big way. I did not mean to imply there was any comparison in the brave effort individuals put in.. .As for mine, I am so proud and worry too much, lol. Cheers, everyone..I hope you're weekends are off to a great start, as mine is. Peachy
