We have such a colourful language and I've lived here all my life so a lot of it comes naturally to me me without thought that I might say a place that's far away is in whoop whoop 😂 Fancy explaining that to people who aren't familiar with our way of speaking. I'd love to see what other other slang people have to offer. Just saying... Australiana is an inspired song that was whipped up in minutes from all accounts. As an import myself from North America, two things (more will come to mind later) are lovely about the Aussie language / slang: a) "The Aussie Kiss" as a term "Same as a French Kiss, but Down Under"; and b) "Cunt". Australians use it with such versatility it's admirable. On one end of the spectrum you have the hateful "GET FAHKED CAHNT" to the driver that just cut you off the road. On the other end, you can pick up the phone when your top mate Johnno rings and say "Hey heyyyyyyy how ya goin' ya Cahnt." Socrates and Bill Shakespeare would be so proud.
