I'm a huge fan of a sharp brain and one who's way of thinking challenges my thoughts and beliefs. Definitely the one who carries me over the threshold of my existing smarts - that's a great way to explain it Freya! I have indeed found my perfectly matched brain. It was his sharpness, his dry sense of humour and his knowledge of things I was not knowledgeable in that attracted me to him. That is, he challenged me. He still does, 5 years on. He was attached to a bodacious body but that was NOT what attracted me to him. Flirty x

Mr cheeky is so damn intelligent and I love it! When we first met - I was just in awe of his knowledge on so many things... Then I got to know how good he was with his lips, hands, cock, and his love x Mrs C - S - Posted from rhpmobile

We are a happy couple so, on the brains front we have room to move for compatibility. By brains I interpret that to be outlook rather than IQ. I don't think I'm a dummy, but If you measure solely IQ Mrs Q has already married down.

the better Smarts is soooooooooooooo attractive. Confidence, Intelligence, Awareness yet wrapped up in respect and empathy will always win me over. You could be the biggest dud in bed but if you've already fucked my brain, you've won my heart. Anything else after that is a bonus but I think I'm a rarity

I'm more intelligent than 80% of the people i meet. While a brain bigger than mine gives me a big ol chubby, its actually curiosity that i cant resist. It needs a bit of explanation. I love intelligence not wisdom. Anyone can remember crap, intellectuals understand things. And the intellectuals i love most are those that aren't just capable of, but actually crave new understanding. Physical attractiveness can get me to pay attention initially, but will not hold it on its own. I know some people who have all the wisdom of a slug, but are highly intelligent and i find their company highly stimulating.I've known some people who are as wise as the day is long, but have never had an original thought and i tire of them quickly. So for me its not what you know, but how you think about it.

Big fat brains, Yum Seriously though, I do not get out my tape measure to check the size. Every person has their good & bad qualities, and size of brains (not sure how much the size varies though). Stimulation, education, life experience, natural intelligence ??? Some people can appear less intelligent with one person, (as they may have nothing in common, or come from different ways of lives or cultures); however appear highly intelligent to another person, and / or have a great conversation given the chance. One person can be highly intelligent and be able to strip down and re-build an engine, and the other can maybe design a bridge, or create an amazing culinary dish, maybe they all have the same size brains ?? I am sure there are different sized brains; however, I believe it is how you use it.

My ex and I had opposite brains, he had what I lacked and vice versa and I thought it made us a good match. Until I found we were opposites in morals also. I am attracted to a quick wit, someone who is confident in what they know, not so much about how much they know and someone who can get the most out of what they know and knows how to ask when they don't know. Seems like a lot of knowing but what would I know, lol.

Im not looking for very intellectual men .....to be honest, I love down to earth guys with lots of humour, sometimes overly clever men can be a bit boring....I spent a date with a guy who went on about politics and influential people that he admired....fine, but I was thinking back to the last guy I had spent time with who was funny, spontaneous and just a big character! Yes to savvy, but a no to brainboxes

still waiting.... Seriously though, as someone who looks at brains most days for a living. They are rather uninspiring things to be honest. Grey, squidgy and prone to bleeding like a mofo if you're not careful with them... For me it's more a combination of smarts, life experience, a sense of irony and humour and a unique outlook on life that attracts me. I also really admire someone who knows how to use language...

Not necessarily a big brain, just the right size to challenge me and be challenged in return - I like brains that makes me question and think. Throw in wittiness and a twisted sense of humour and Im gone. It's the character of the face that would attract me more than the body - although, I admit to perving . Oh, not into know-it-alls.

I'm a complicated type girl so I find I connect with women that are perhaps a bit complicated. Those whose brains are not straight down the line. Perhaps those that have had a hard grounding in life like myself. Then there is a connection that you can open up and be comfortable with each other with no judgement. So each can feel normal. Brains are complex and doesn't take much to permanently taint them. I just know that my brain doesn't suit a match with the girl next door type. If there is such a thing......

I love a woman who can work out for herself how to get my pants off, knows without me telling her that I like my cock sucked, and can also realise I like women on their backs, knickers off, and legs spread. Yes I'm all for smart women!

Someone can have a lot of wisdom, but it's no the same as being witty, articulated and charming. I personally love a sharp sense of wit, those who can pull a joke out of nowhere and be totally engaging in conversation. I guess I am attracted to this type since I consider myself in that category... One thing that I can't stand is a basic lack of common sense and logic!!! Drives me nuts when people can't figure out simple things on there own, when they really could if they thought it through properly. two types of smarts: 1 + 1 = 2 or 1 + 1 = A window. I prefer the latter, an example of creativity and thinking outside the box is intelligence to me :)

Wisdom over intelligence. Cant stand dumb smart people that have no life skills, street smarts, or have a closed off narrow perspective of life. Big brain does not always mean attractive. So for me a fine brain is a mature open brain, not much to do with size.

Two women have put up with me for the largest portions of my adulthood - the first organises large scale events, if you've had any fun at a festival in the last 20yrs she's probably had something to do with it. Amongst other things, she has a Masters in Linguistics which is a surprisingly interesting field. The other is a lawyer who hated the law, became a successful business person while raising our 4 kids, and is now representing Hollywood studios in Asia. She's studied Environmental Science and is a self taught expert in international finance markets. Yeah I think I like smart women.

While I'm a fan of maintaining my IQ through brain teasers and playing Lumosity games every day I can the real conversation happens with someone that can connect with my experiences in life not just with textbook knowledge

However a saying thats stuck with me is: Sarcasm is the highest form of intelligence, but the lowest form of wit. A good brain is a must for me. I have never thought about comparing someones intelligence before to mine (or lack of!) I have been in situations or had contact with people where intellectually stimulating conversation was lacking but I have never felt intimidated by someone who was clearly more intelligent that me. It would be quite a turn on really to be in a situation like that thinking about it .....

Quoting 'bosch_sparks'the real conversation happens with someone that can connect with my experiences in life not just with textbook knowledge i think you've got the terms backwards there. Textbook knowledge is wisdom... The people who initially found the wisdom in the textbooks are intelligent. Life experience is wisdom, drawing conclusions from that wisdom is intelligence. Wisdom is what you know, intelligence is how you think.

Quoting 'PaintMeHappy' I won't play semantics but in my experience it's the other way around. - Posted from rhpmobile That's almost zen... But yes i've done some more reading and wisdom does include the ability to draw on knowledge. So not touching fire because you've been burned before is wisdom. Intelligence is deciding to cook on said fire. You know fire is hot, you know cooked food is good, these are knowledge and therefore wisdom. Deciding that the hot fire is useful for cooking is intelligence, until you've done it the first time, then it becomes wisdom. Back to the original post. This is exactly what I'm talking about Freya. This kind of debate gets my mental juices flowing. Now if anyone from my area had joined in this debate with some logical well founded argument i would be very much attracted to them.

Inelegance, wisdom, creativity, wit, imagination, knowledge, drive all combine into a the whole. Each on their own is nothing but empty. We can measure each in isolation, and some will score high on all, most have considerable variance between them all. unfortunately the young have still a way to go to complete their education (life) and need more practice and experience.Intelligence is problem solving. Wisdom is the ability to draw on past experience and trust the subconscious mind.Creativity is the skill in the use of ones body and senses.Wit is speed of thoughtImagination is to think outside the box, to not be lead by the herd.Knowledge is memory and the ability to learn and understand what is not knownDrive is the need to improved, to help others, to improve life for all. Each can be an island on its own but they all contribute to each other, strengthening one will benefit the rest Who is best, one that excels in a few but are weak in the rest. Or do you prefer a more balanced individual that does not excel in any but is about average in all. Are you one that prefers they match your brain, or do you seek those better or those lesser. I personal prefer people that match me or are higher on average, though few match me in drive, that drive appreciates those with higher attributes as they are a source of inspiration, learning, and joy. All these attribute do not stand apparent when you meet someone so those lovers of big brains should be careful not to discount an individual due to an apparent lack in one attribute. There is also one attribute that I have not mentioned as its more a promise and something that diminishes with age unfortunately but there is always a little left till our last days.. I call that potencial and is the very reason newborns bring such joy

Quoting 'Spartanis' You all say you prefer Smart people ... but does that mean you will overlook their body types? I wonder.. ~Sparty~ yes...I do overlook body type for brain..in fact the man I could scream for as a teenage girl screaming for the current boyband is a 46year old half bald half silver hairy short plum English man. But he is sooooooo smart there is a real danger I will scream my lungs out or faint when I go to his show in Sydney in April..

This sentence of yours Freya: "Or is it a brain that will completely sweep you of your feet....pick you up and carry you over the threshold of your existing smarts?." is a case in point in just how sexy a smart brain is. It just sent a chill up my spine in a way that only something really cleverly worded can do and which is one of the reasons I lurk around the forums, because occasionally you'll get a brilliant thread like this one. So many smart people on here. I found myself going from one post to another thinking 'Wow that's a great observation", and then "Damn wish I'd said that" and it didn't matter if it was male or female. But for me pure beauty even without a lot of intelligence is just as compelling - intelligence and beauty - totally different but equally intense reaction to both. And when on those magic occasions you get to experience both attributes in the one person, there are just no words for that :)

Ha - this topic makes me think of the "crazy/hot matrix" but also the dunning-Kruger effect (google it!) Of course intelligence and a sharp wit are sexy but the flip side of that are those that try and appear smarter than they are = turnoff. Isnt everything but still matters to me.. i lime a little meat n curves though.. have no issues playing with a size 16 ior 18 girl and finding them attractive.. im a personal trainer and compete in strongman and other strength sports so im always at the gym. And yes if a girl is size 10 and looks after herself she is alot more attractive to me but i cant help that.. its what my souI desires. Ultra skinny people i find are less attractive than larger. That no butt anorexia look is sickening. It all comes back to smarts though. - Posted from rhpmobile

Quoting 'Spartanis' You all say you prefer Smart people ... but does that mean you will overlook their body types? I wonder.. ~Sparty~ Not entirely - there also needs to be some physical attraction. The two smart ladies I mention above are both quite hot There's a difference between fun and friendship and long term partnership. For a long term partnership I'm after someone that can continue to challenge me. Fun and friendship have a different criteria. You certainly don't have to be super smart to be interesting, and I have lots of interesting friends that are not geniuses. To turn me on women need to be somewhere on my personal range of physically attractive, and have an interesting mind. A super-model with the personality of a fish is not going to do it for me any more than a genius that's a hat full of ugly.

Here's one that's always stuck with me. Its an intelligence question. Wisdom won't help you unless you know the answer already... At which point of course it will... "How far can you run into a forest?" And my favorite wisdom one, which i once answered on an aptitude test for the army (i didn't join in the end) by adding a fifth option to the 4 answers available... "What the square root of 9?" Answers tomorrow night if nobody comes up with the right ones before then.

For me it depends alot on where you meet people. In RL I don't necessarily go for / end up with 'big brains', as so many other characteristics come into play; like charisma and presence. I also very much appreciate characteristics that complement my own. I'm a bit of a doofus, so I very much value people who are street smart and practical. Online it's a different ball game (for me) and it's very much weighted in the persons ability to be articulate and witty in the way they communicate in little white boxes (yeah - doesn't really come into play in the real word). It's a much more narrow and skewed way of doing things. So I guess Freya, if I can non-satisfactorily-answer your question, I would say ... a different brain would be a good start, for me.

This is a fascinating thread consider for a moment Albert Einstein A genius with the social and dress sense skill of a baboon. Consider Savants Like Dustin Hoffman's character in Rain Man. High IQ or Intellect is not in its self a guarantee to have the ability to make sense. Consider Jessica Simpson who was surprised when eating Buffalo Wing as she didn't even know they could fly...FFS I know to say it is the whole package that makes it work is trite. It is the quirky mix of the brain that is attractive and an ability to converse on a large number of topics is attractive. This tends to a philosophical discussion as to what makes the perfect brain. Intellect can tweak the attention it can't always keep it though. LC
