Brains beat beauty hands down... there is nothing worse that seeing a cute woman at the bar/cafe/shopping centre and introducing yourself and finding they are as shallow as a baby pool. I find a relationship, sex and all the bits in-between is better when you can converse with the other person on a more intellectual level.

Anything is possible Contendedone ! Why not be BOTH beautiful AND smart... SHIT, FFS, roll me over and dip me in chocolate and 100s and 1000s...the combination IS possible !!! I like my men attractive (not models), preferably toned and fit, AND intelligent ! I don't want conceited or arrogant but there are some incredibly attractive men who I find very HOT. They are propably average "Joe's" but have brains and can hold a conversation. I find these men very very attractive. They look after themselves when they aren't working hard and getting all sweaty (YUMMY), are aware that eating meat pies and McDonalds are not the best options when you are over 40 and they can discuss more than just footy and cricket. There are many HOT women on here with brains too. Why not go for both ? Sure if I HAD to choose then it'd be brains first BUT seriously I have not been with one ugly guy off RHP, every one has been attractive ! AND every one of them has brains too !!! Sorry ... it must be my drinking wine before I've had breakfast (yep...it's 5pm and no food yet...too busy) but re the porn part... intelligent women can make HOT porn too !!! Oh brother....how many times have I heard that a guy just lerves a femme with 'brains'? Speaking from the perspective of a woman with a moderate amount of working brain cells AND, despite a few runaways possess a reasonable face (lol)...the majority of men I've come across both professionally & personally....find a woman posessing a decent vocab and ability to communicate on any level... intimidating. The reasonably smart ones just wanna get competative and the moderately blessed intellectuals just look at me with a blank face and mumble..'so u wanna fuck or wot'? I agree with Myname. I have been told upfront by a couple of men that I am considered intimidating because I refuse to pretend to be dumb. Its the same as when you are an assertive woman, the words that get bandied around are aggressive, ball buster, dyke. If you are a passionate woman, as I am, angry is often a descriptor. Contendedone, good on you for appreciating a woman's intellect. Don't be surprised though if women seem sceptical. Wildly hoping its true

Tis true, intelligence = intimidating, however if a man is secure in himself then the brains are not so intimidating. Both brains and beauty would be a blessing for both man or woman... I only have one half of the equation unfortunately. Will go back to my corner and dream of 100's and 1000's... mmmm chocolate.

Apparantely they were the only choices ....then I opened my mouth and they soon shut theirs....just went downhill from there...name calling was rife but...behind my back. Yep WTG....dyke, ballbreaker and many other lovely terms, continues today ...out of uniform and worse from the private sector! Ahh.....intelligence...gotta love it!!

I only know how my brain works. My brain absorbs like a sponge. It doesn't like the mundane or the routine. It has vision and perception. It confronts and exposes the truth. It nurtures and protects. But in finding suitable longterm partners, I have found this difficult and I outgrow them. They could have a string of academic degrees behind them, but unfortunately this does not make them SMART. Smart people are the people who are AWARE of their place, what they are doing and where they are headed. Smart people are ready to use the opportuntities in front of them and run with them. So guys that tell me they have a have been to uni a million times...so what? ...yeah sure they have brains, but are they smart enough to use it? I want to know what their dreams, opinions, and stories are. I love a good story teller because they use "life" to describe their thoughts. And when all else fails - gag me, spank me, tie me up...I might just be smart enough to enjoy it :p Jx

...sure it can be but usually only when the intelligent person is trying to be intimidating. I know a lot of extremely intelligent people and the ones that stay my friends are the ones who can talk on a higher level amongst themselves and still talk to a bozo (like me) without making me feel less of a human being. Lips and Gypsy i am sad to say you are both right but remember the people who are intimidated by your intelligence are generally insecure and do not know how to behave with you and therefore try to put you down. my posts are taking 24 hours at least to get through so this thread might slow right down by the time you read this but i have to ask this question. What is wrong with your ex. Has he had a head injury to leave you for someone with a better body? maybe they should check his eyes along with his head because from what a read of your posts on other forums you sound like well grounded smart woman with a great personality and a very nice body to boot. Why does it have to be brain VERUS beauty in the first place? I mean isn't beauty in the eye of the beholder? And given each of us is different in our tastes and all, doesn't that mean that we're likely to see each partner differently from someone else? Me - I find the connection strongest with someone I can converse well with. I find it easier to relax and be myself if there's a mental connection there to start with... sex is far more fun that way too :-) hugs Wayne
