I asked a friend this and this was his reply.... If you are 30, then 8+ years older makes you a cougar, 40 then 10+, 50 then 15+. You get the general idea.

hmmm well my partner is only 18 months younger - but apparently this makes me a 'cougar' to some people!!! In all seriousness... i think most people i've heard use the term have meant the woman being at least 8 or more years older. I've only been a 'cougar' briefly just once last year - was a very interesting experience, thoroughly recommend it for other ladies who find a nice, sexy and respectful younger guy.

a perth radio station started on about cougars. wippa was carrying on that he could pick a cougar a mile off....i couldnt help myself....i had to call in. 4 of us "cougars" were asked into the station for a kissing comp...to see how good he was...lol he was blind folded, us "cougars" lined up. the 1st....gave him a peck on the cheek. the 2nd...a peck on the cheek. the 3rd...a quick peck on the lips. i thought...what the hell are you doing "cougars" hehehe so i was next...i ~~pounced~~...grabed him...and went for the "kill"..ROARRR the studio went nuts...wippa was screamming..."GET HER OFF ME, HELP, THE COUGAR HAS GOT ME, HELPPPPP" so, i guess that makes me a "COUGAR" ROARRRRRRRRRRR ~~giggle~~

The half your age plus 7 rule is just a guideline for how young a partner you can have without it being 'weird' Soubi. Of course this is just a state of mind but hey. As for how old you have to be to be a cougar, speaking as a younger guy its more of an attitude than an age. A cougar should be older but more importantly more aggressive and experienced.Failing that I suggest watching How I Met Your Mother for a more detailed (and entertaining) explanation

I am in my late forties and have enjoyed toyboys from the age of 18 upwards to late 30s. Age is just a number, it's about state of mind, maturity and confidence and knowing what you want. My 18 year old friend can out perform and excite me more than many older more experienced men I have met so it's not about how old they are really. I would think any age difference over 10 years qualifies a cougar.

I think its more to do with looking younger or even acting younger than what is accepted of you. ie. a 40 yr old hottie who looks 30 but dates an older guy is a cougar still in my book

No matter what the age difference, it aint gunna happen if both or neither wants to play. Before we got together as a couple both my partner and I were seeing younger people, some as much as 25 years younger.... So I guess that made her a cougar and me a manther...lol. But seriously to be considered a cougar (or a Manther) the younger person just has to be willing and ready to overlook any age difference because the chemistry is there!!!! I dont think there is a formula to calculate the age gap, but the chemistry must still be there.

im definetly a cougar and to be quite honest, im darn proud of it lol. If im 44 and if i can get guys 24 to 27, why not. It all comes down to how mature the guy is and how young at heart you are. I mean i dont look my age so if i dated someone even close to 10yrs older than me (shudders eww) they would look like my father lol.

(1991 Figures from U. S. Department of Agriculture, Wildlife Services, San Antonio, Texas) The 1992 reports for Nevada list lion depredations as follows: 9 calves (estimated value = $2,600), 1 horse (estimated value = $1,000), 4 colts (estimated value = $2,200), 5 goats (estimated value = $500), 318 sheep (estimated value = $32,896), 400 lambs (estimated value = $26,359). (U. S. Department of Agriculture, Wildlife Services, Reno, Nevada) Therefore to answer the original question a cougar would be anyone that hunts young prey, that is the man would have to be very young and innocent and the female is the chaser or aggressor. If the older female is not hunting for very young males but getting proposed to or chased by them, the she is a MILF rather than a Cougar.

I refuse to call it a fetish, because i don't look at every older(than me) woman with a 'hot or not' filter. Still, the most memorable experiences I've had were with more experienced women. The amount of sexually neglected, recently seperated women that are craving for attention is a national disgrace (husbands that is). Don't make the mistake of thinking they are desperate or in need of pity, you will be made a fool of. These sexually charged women want to feel young, to feel lustful, to regain what they sacrificed for too long in a neglected relationship. Respect will reward you with a woman's energy and libido that will test you. At the age of 18 I lost my virginity to a 46 year old. I didn't know it then but that night laid the foundations for what I consider my 'open' mind now. The funny thing is, I gaurantee she has absolutely no memory of that night at all, why would she? I was a fumbling, over excited, drunk teenager that probably left her thinking "what the fuck!!". Having said all that...they could just be a horny older chick!

That's really up to the woman and since "Cougar" is a hyped up Madison Avenue marketing scam it can mean what you want it to mean. If a woman is 25 and likes to call herself a cougar and hunt down 18-25 year old guys...she's a cougar if that's what she wants to be. JJ65 pointed out her rationale for it so why not? It's all about preferences and choices...and we all change those from time to time to fit the situation or circumstance. | This is kind of one of those "be who you are and enjoy it" answers I know...but then again maybe a great looking 30 year old cougar will read this and say "awww what the hell...he's not that old". | Livin' the dream! | I think I like the term "Manther" a lot better than the other option and fair is...fun!

I am a 52 year old cougar if other people call me that. I have had sex with men from 23 years of age to my age and i've enjoyed most of them. Of late, from being hunted into near extinction, state and federal protection of this species has lead to overpopulation in some areas and the older males have held their ground nicely, thanks. The young males come down from the hills and hunt for sport...killing and leaving their prey and yes, they do prefer smaller and more vulnerable animals that are easy targets. They are smart enough to know that taking on a pronged horn animal of any species might not be that much fun. | I did help once with an emergency cull...a farmer back home had lost about 30 sheep in one night and just a recreational kill, a game of sport. When we rolled him and the ODFW checked his age...he was 2 and definitely a young male on a spree. | There...we now return you to your sponsor after a brief commercial break. Cougars....in a tight t-shirt selling crap bourbon.... | ....yes, please. Make it a double.

I have been with a lot of oler women ranging from 30-50 and i do have to say they have been lots of fun. It doesnt matter how old or young you are as long as everyone has fun. I have found that with the older women i have met as well i have connected better with them then girls my ages. I really think that older girls are a lot more fun and open and you can chat about anything with them as well as they can holding a conversation.

And I enjoy it immensely =D I have the normal ol' work, be a mum, do the housework, responsible adult type lives, so I really love it when I get to have a little (or better yet, a lot) of fun with younger guys! I've been with boys as young as 18, and it gives me a chance to kind of go back to those young days where I feel I missed out on a lot of fun, becoming a mum at 16 I had to grow up very quickly, so now I like to revert to those days, and nothing can help better than a hot young thing keen to impress an older gal. I find that older guys, besides the odd exception, can't keep up with my appetite, so I tend to just stick with younger guys up to maybe 30.
