I have to admit, we have posted a few times and got no responses. Kind of a last minute thing when going out. I think it is a great concept, but people need to use it more!!

We've wondered how the date-finder works out... Not something that we think would work for us, so we wouldn't use it for search or to post a date lol... but we'd love to hear how it goes for you... :-)

If you're a forward planner then I guess Datefinder might not be something you'd use but we have used it when we've literally decided to go out at the last minute and wanted to see who was available on the night at short notice. Beats sending out 50 messages and seeing who replies in time :)

Unfortunately datefinder is not required when the women have so many choices from messages they can set dates up well before considering using datefinder. Hence it tends to only get used by guys in the hope that someday a female wil actually bother to look at it. So in essence unless the ration of females sekking guys increases by a huge amount it is not much use for males.

We've looked at it as a last minute thing, but it's only ever the same people and never more than 10 or so on an average day/night, and unfortunately, not what we're after... Maybe the next task for taskmaster could be to enter 3 or 5 dates where you're available?!?! As long as they're genuine of course...

We used it for the first time last weekend. Replied to two potential dates but narh didnt work for us. Granted we left it to the last minute but as someone mentioned before me maybe if we had of used it abit earlier we would have had more luck with it.

We used it a few weeks ago - six or seven interested parties, but all no shows! Would be awesome and certainly has potential if people used it regularly.

For us, we usually plan meets in advanced because we have a pretty busy calender most of the time, so we know when we're free and we plan dates for then. But like last weekend, we were unexpectedly free (found out late the night before) and had a look, but nothing interested us, or was local for us. It, like everything, will only ever be as successful as we make it. If no one puts up when they're free, then no one will know. It only takes 5 minutes at the start of the week to list when you are free, then people can find you when you're on there! If i recall correctly, you never used to be able to search the dates without first listing a matching date... Maybe that was my imagination... Datefinder and our MSN list will always be the first places we look to meet new people when we're free, but it won't happen with the same 15 people using it all the time! Oh, and last weekend we were free, turns out some good friends happened to be unexpectedly free too, and it turned into one hot and horny night!.......................... And morning......... xx

You cant browse it without posting a date yourself.Has anyone had any success with it recently.Or is it just a wasted feature on this site??

There are a lot of threads on the topic you should be able to find using the advanced search or tags, I didn't check. There are mixed reactions but not a lot of positive, recently or otherwise, as I remember it. Maybe start a new thread for the most recent opinion if none of the above, or replies, answers your question. Cheers, Peachy

I was just a bit bored with the current threads so went back to 2009. This one caught my eye so I thought I would ask.I have always been curious about it.

Yes...it has worked for me. I have had success and met a few good people from it. I'm a shift worker so I plan ahead, up to a week. Infact one time (within 6mths) a male friend of mine (who was in Brissy for the night for work, lives just out of town), put up date finder the same time I did. We caught up, hung out, went for dinner, had a few drinks and chin wag. It also depends how I am feeling on that day, if I am too exhausted, I cancel the date-finder (early as possible) as I don't want to waste people's time. Ms Foxy

I think the most I've had in one date was about 42 or something like that. I know it was in its early 40's. Meet a great man from it. Ms Foxy

Lol Ticklish, I like to wander through the annals too. There are so many ghosts though. I hope you get some answers, datefinder has always been a bit of a mystery, lol. Peachy xo

That sometimes couples/women have advertised dates in datefinder seeking men when their profile says otherwise. So maybe it's an occasional thing. But yes you can't use it without posting a date yourself. I don't expect to have interest in any of my dates, but I'm sure the reverse is true and they have a lot of choice. Some people seem to be serial datefinder users, almost every day/week. Others are for specific times/dates only, including travellers.

Both as a single and as a couple have met people using DateFinder. The majority of these have been when I/we have contacted the advertising party. From our experience as a couple when advertising we get most interest from single guys, plus the odd couple, yet generally none of these bother to send a message - they just hit the Register Interest button and move on. So we simply assume they just press the button for every advertised date and hope for the best. If you can't be bothered then neither can we! When we have met with others using date finder we have registered our interest and then sent a message. Those who have met us have done the same. The only other thing I might suggest is if paid members could search without having a date advertised then it may be more useful? I'm sure that has been trialled with a negative outcome, but if not then maye it is something to be considered.
