Dreams

October 29 2011

Who know what about a dreams? I have had two dreams recently, featuring the same person and I am wondering if anyone in RHP land knows much about dreams and their meanings? For the purposes of this post the person the dreams involved will be known as M.Dream 1)I am at a pool with M. He is in the pool I am standing by it...he invites me in for a swim. he miss hears something I say and thinks I want to race him in a lap to the other end of the pool. As I am getting into the pool I notice there is a a person sitting on the edge dangling their feet in the water but I can not tell if the person is male or female (no idea who it could be). I am in the water and we are both about to take off. M swims away at speed but instead of swimming I go under the water which seems incredibly deep and I can not get my head back above the water. M is gone. The person dangling their legs is still there but does not help. I woke up from the dream when i thought I could not hold my breath anymore.Dream 2)At M's place lying on the trampoline chatting and having drinks. Someone else arrives (who in real life M does not know but I do and am not very comfortable with)...Talking and drinking but everytime I take sip from my glass I end up with broken glass in my mouth. Noone else notices and every time I pick up my glass it is whole again. The glass does not cut me, it is just there but no matter how hard I try i can not get all the glass out of my mouth...Ok, so now I have put these dreams down in writing I maybe sound a bit mad, however I do rather like to lay on the RHP sofa and tell what is troubling me...it is very therapeutic. Any thoughts?xx Salina

I know nothing about dream analysis and have not read any books about it, so there's sure to bemore knowledgable opinions to come. The first one sounds that you are overcommited to an idea which you have taken on and that you were prompted for and followed. You are alone in experiencing your problem in this - even from the person you are doing this. I think the dream is prompting you to consider what to do before you are trapped in the way you are living this idea. The second one sounds that you have a problem you're not communicating to M and it is not going away even though you want it to and you think you are removing the problem - it none-the-less continues to be a problem. Both sound to me like issues of trust, communication and a request by your mind for deeper consideration of the two issues in your life that are bothering you. It's likely that I'm completely wrong, I'll be interested in what other more knowledgable people find in your dreams.Good luck!

On a slightly different subject, I find sexual dreams so so so annoying. Wet dreams happen (probably formost guys) at regular monotony and create one big mess without good mental feelings. Evenmasturbation involvedbetter quality orgasms. The real trouble (With Wet Dreams) is that, although they clearly result in ejaculation and ample semen. However, I do not get a good awareness of what is going on. So you might as well just have a semen drain installed J Its a waste of semen that couldparticipate in other better quality experiences.

M is attractive to you. M appeals to you in some way. With M things are incomplete quickly despite fun intentions. The other people are an awkwardness and you may just want the company of M alone. The broken glass is backsliding perhaps and perhaps not glass at all but Ice in your drink.

M is someone you like to be with, the other people are in the way of you being alone. You are not in control for long when with M (yet), despite best intentions. You are not drowning but unable to swim yet. The broken glass may just be Ice in your glass so what's to notice by others? Is there something you'll think will be noticed that perhaps isn't really noticeable? Or is there something covert about the dynamic between you and M?

Dreams, can often reflect the emotions and daily experiences we all go through. Parts of a dream can have meaning, yet other parts of a dream can feel confused. In my view, this is the minds way of making sense, and finding solutions to what ever we are experiencing at a point in time. I often feel the emotion attached to the dream, which for me, is an indication of what my sub conscience is trying to tell me. Often, it may be about a choice I made, yet it was the wrong decision. Lucid dreaming, whereby you are aware that you're asleep and dreaming is different altogether. I have experienced lucid dreaming and have had a degree of control within my dream state. Night terrors are hideous. One can wake up in a puddle of sweat, with an overwhelming sense of 'loss of control', regret and something like a feeling of dread.

They can reflect a wish, a fear or anything else that is emotionally pressing. The confused part of the dream reflects the nature of our unconscious mind - which is irrational and wishful. For example, our thoughts about someone in our dream can be misplaced to someone else entirely. Dreams are not logical, but associative. To understand your dream better you should examine each part of your dream and say aloud the thoughts that come to mind....

'To dream that you are drowning suggests that your feelings are pressing down too hard on you and that something you buried long ago is awakening.''To dream that you are eating glass highlights your vulnerability, confusion and frailty.'One dream on its own and I probably wouldn't have thought much of it, but both dreams were one night ofter the other and the person is someone I have never dreamed about before like this.Parts of what everyone here has written resonates in some way. M is a friend, we have known each other for a long time and have become closer lately. I never really thought about him this much but others suggestions have also played a part in making me think...Thanks for all your thoughts xx Salina

Your dream is about "M" whom you like but you don't seem to be able to catch and there seems to be confusion in communication between you both. In dreams, things like flying, or running from or chasing or not moving in a time or place of danger or even drowning is the body's way of starting your heart from an almost unconscious state. The Broken glass that keep fixing itself but leaves debris in your mouth is about a relationship of some kind or another that is broken and healed but has left you with bad experiences. In that these dreams are reoccurring gives a clue to how important these things are to you. As a woman you generally think in terms of relationships so this or these relationships are important to you, whereas you believe that "M" doesn't think that at this point. The person dangling their legs over the pool is no one in particular. It is that you feel you need help from others but feel that they cannot help at all in your situation.

Further to the Broken Glass reference. The semi conscious awareness relating to your conscious state will alert the conscious and wake you if logical reasoning is flawed overtly during a dream. With the logical consequence of chewing glass is 'Not' observed(cut mouth), a reality check is performed thus in this case you re- observe the glass and find it whole. The anomaly is overridden as just that and the dream continues. If say, you reality checked the glass to find a golf shoe in your hand instead, your conscious would register nonsense and awake you realizing you're having a dream. . When we semi wake and can sometimes continue with a dream as we have all done from time to time. On dreaming in this state we can control the dream into our wildest direction or outcome but only for a short time usually(erotic dreams my fav). By reality checking frequently in day to day life, this habit extends to dreaming thus allowing more dream control. . Deep and laborious to comprehend let alone follow, if you're reading this line you must have an avid interest in dream analogy(or be bored shitless). Well done. . Mr Erotic. "For we are the dreamer of dreams".

Now that is an interesting dream! Someone you have known for a long time but have been thinking a lot about lately. Have you spoken to this guy about your feelings toward him, what's stopping you for moving forward on this?
