Forcing libido into submission

February 23 2012

So, I'm seriously considering taking the pill to kill my libido. I know this works as everytime I've been on the pill my sex drive has disappeared.Has anyone out there done this? Gone on the pill specifically to kill a rampant libido? If I was getting sexed every night then it wouldn't be necessary, but I'm not, and tbh, I'm wary of going to the trouble of meeting a stack of playmates to fill that desire, I just couldn't be bothered with dealing with arseholes, or the increased risks of sti transmission etc.Is there anything else (besides marriage) than can tamper the libido of a rampant horny 37yo??

In the war they issued bromine tablets to the troops. Find yourself an old soldier! I'm not a fan of fiddling with hormones for no good reason. I think your best bet is to find a like minded soul and get freaky. Hugs Stalky

I'd rather be walking around with half a mongrel in my pants and that desparate ' haven't had a root in ages' look on my face than have no libido. I know - you don't have half a mongrel in your pants (but you wouldn't mind one would you! .) I just think no libido would have other effects - like hermitude, followed by social retardation.... Stroke the mongrel I say....

@PollaBearGrrrl Is that not a bit extreme??Is this Just a phase your going though or are you always like this? Mybe you should explore what's leading to these feelings and deal with tat to find some balance? You may find other things in your life that you were not aware of fall into place what you look for the root (pardon the pun) cause of this? The idea of drug induced luke warm libido bothers me for some reason..

In my experience the less sex you have the less you want. Its like after a few months your body doesn't even want it anymore. So you could just persist with the celibacy until you get to this stage. However once the seal is broken... Watch out cause I want more!! Even when I am to shy to ask for it the first time around. :)

I dont find the pill suppresses my sexual appetite however I only went on it beause i have met a FB and at his request there was no sex with a condom after initially being unsuccessful!!!! A word on suppressing your libido it can be fun in the events that follow...after childbirth my libido was non-existent not even self indulgence.....too tired beige underwear etc....How attractive can one be? No masturbation....ughhhh!!!! My focus was elsewhere ...ten years on my libido has returned and I embrace my sexuality....My suggestion is have a child!!!!! Ensure there are no stimulants in your environment-no sex toys, pornography, stick flics perhaps become a recluse and hibernate if unsuccessful and your libido is high go out and F>>K....you are your own Judge!!!!

@PBG After reading your profile, I think you just need to be patient. It's open and honest writings are bound to attract a playmate in the not too distant future. Though I'm not really into larger ladies, I felt interested after reading it. You sound lovely.Hang in there PBG.

I agree with Meeks, the less you have, the less you want. I've had periods of time when it's been several months between drinks and I tend to care less and less. Have sex just once and the cycle starts all over again. Keep in mind though, this is the opinion of a severely over-analytical 22 year old.....

Men live 6 years less than women do Women instigate 4 out of 5 divorces. 90% of violent crimes are instigated by men and 70% of their victims will be men. 90% of the children in school with behavioural problems are boys and 80% of children with learning problems are boys. The leading cause of death amongst men between 12 and 60 is self inflicted. Knowing this..... You want to frustrate us even more by becoming celibate? Cut us blokes some slack ladies. A guy who gets laid frequently is a contented guy. World Peace you know. Root for world peace!! Hugs Stalky

Mantak Chia has various exercises for utilising sexual energy, see if he has anything for females.   Another alternative is meeting on the beach. Holding hands looking into each others eyes while the sun sets and myself borrowing some for my own greedy selfish needs.

Hun, I would suggest going to the doc for a simple blood test on your thyroid functionality. There are 3 levels to be checked out and easily determined how out of control it is. At that point, if the thyroid does have a significant problem, certain medications can be prescribed to control the hormone to restore balance.   Meeka's advice to abstein for a while can indeed suppress it, lke someone on Weight Watchers enjoying a chocolate treat after a couple of weeks. Its definitely worth a try if it is bothering you so much. Stalky - I loved your stats info, reinforcing the Goddess in Women. As a general rule, women ignite their sexual peak at about the age of 30, and the libido increases year after year. For some women not even menopause can put that fire out. But personally, I love the fire raging and for me I hope it never fizzles down!!!!!!   Hope you find the right solution for you xxx

Look its a "terrible" thing the human sex drive. I am a bit taken aback by the take a pill and it will all be better attitude! Medicating yourself to reduce your sex drive seems a bit extreme, perhaps you can channel some of that urge into somethng else, like basketweavingor donate your body to a charitable foudation like the one I'm thinking of starting. "Institute for Medicationless Housewives" or IMH (I'm Horny), if you feel this is a worthy cause please send yourself to me immediately. Mike

Lol yeah. World War 1 was actually caused by rampant celibacy. I'm mean picture it.... all those young Australian men banding together to go to war... Now picture the prospects of young Aussie guys lining up to sail away from an Island full of beautiful Aussie women that put out at the drop of a hat.... It just would never happen. They'd all be in a cum coma and World War 1 would have been prevented. It's all their fault damn it! Root for World Peace! Bugga Carbon Tax. The govt ought to put GBH in the drinking water and save the planet. Hugs Stalky

I think this may have inadvertently contributed towards the end of my marriage. Ex had always been on some kind of birth control from day dot, from the implanon implants to various kinds of the pill. I'm not 100% clued up on the side effects of these pills, however vaguely aware that different brands have different side effects (correct me if I'm wrong). This directly effected her sex drive to the point where it didn't exist. Only got the sympathy (your going back to work tomorrow) sex. I soon got tired of this as she clearly wasn't physically interested, mentioned this on one said night, and thus began the great droughtDo you girls find different brands/types lead to different side effects?Jay
