I suspect it may have something to do with increasing their social status.... I suspect the mindset may be that the more friends they are seen to have, the more popular they must be....and the more desirable they must be....

Probably guests that can't send a message so are hoping to provide some detail about themselves and that you might respond.

Do guests get any special privileges with their friends? I.e. ability to send messages?

we get some from single men but a lot more from couples and its usually ones who are just guests, we suspect its a way of saying you're interested without being able to send a message. We're only guests as well thought so its a little futile

I read your profile and you guys sound awesome. I kinda want to send you a friend's request too 😃 it's ok I won't, I don't want to tread on random single male's toes. Looks like I'll run into you at the local sooner or later anyway!

I get a lot of friend requests from obviously fake profiles, as well.....trying to make themselves seem less fake if they have friends...

In my experience it is guys that are doing it and it can be guests and members. I find it weird as a member can message if they are interested and a guest can like you. While it is true that a guest can't see who has liked them If you like each other then two hearts show when you view the person's profile and this is way less creepy than trying to friend someone who you have not met or even chatted with. I always reject random requests and have had to block some profiles that don't take the hint after the second rejection. I have also updated my profile advising randoms not to send friend requests.

Just let them build up as sometimes u delete them and u just get another one from same person. Give it a few months then delete in bulk.

IMO I think it's a combination of a guest being able to get viewed or noticed and /or friend collectors. I find it most annoying when they are paid memvers (some even Diamond) and can't send a decent messgae but request friend wtf !!!

I wonder how many think it's the done thing because of course there is going to be a never ending supply of reasons.

My partner and I both have the view that your friends list is your reputation. If someone meets a real jerk who is on your friends list u will be associated with that person. We only accept friends requests from people we meet and genuinely like and would recommend to others. This is our criteria for adding people to our friends list. Being a guy, I don't get too many random friend requests and if I do I'm suspicious of catfish but my partner gets about 10 friend requests a day from random guys. She just blocks them.

Ones with fake profiles no pics 18 to 99 age range that are young women trying to make their profiles look more legit and friendly then prey on people that will give out privy information and money. Plus like others said treat it like instagram the more people you know you must be a star.

I send a friend request if we’re having a good conversation in a friendly manner and would want to meet up or have a similar that we share, but I can’t speak for all the single males out there unfortunately. But the real question is what harm does accepting a friend request cause?

LOL we also laugh when couples not only friend us but favourite us. And if we send a hello message they never reply. The answer is obvious. Many 'couples' are fake. the site managers cannot be the thought police and also they make money from paying members whether real or not. We know we are real. We have met real couples. The rest can wank and pretend all they like. Yeah its a bit annoying but hey we know are real so not our issue.

The majority of friend requests we get are from “couples” without having even got a wink/like/message from them. I think it’s either fake accounts trying to boost their standing else might be people innocently thinking this is the best way of staying in contact. I will usually ❤️ profiles that I like for 2 reasons, one is if they are members and they like us they may message us or to have them show on our feeds so if we ever decide to be members again we might more easily find them. I actually have no idea what the ⭐️ Thing is, is it a super like? 😂
