Friend requests

February 07 2016

We just had a friend request from a young lady! Nice.... But! When we looked at her profile to see who was requesting it, their profile is unavailable to view?? WTF ?? Why do people even bother? We only have people we have actually met or a planning to meet soon as friends. What's the point otherwise, you might as well be on Facebook !!! - Posted from rhpmobile

More than once, and just recently also. In my case a flirt is recieved. But I can't view their profile, or reply. Surely if someone has hidden their profile in this way, RHP would provide an automated message to the sender when sending a flirt or request, saying that the recipient cannot reply for said reason? It can't be too hard. The only other reason, apart from a lapse of memory of the recipient that they have hidden their profile, is that they have changed their mind and/or hidden/blocked their profile not long after sending. Annoying of course, perhaps you can email RHP who can send some sort of prompt to the sender, alerting them to the fact.

I dont know why some profiles work that way. Getting a friend request without any interaction seems like they just want to collect a friends list to perhaps look legit. I did message a guy once to ask him why he sent me a random friend request and he replied that I looked nice. Not a logical reason really. But people have different reasons in using the site, so each to their own.

What's the point of collecting friends if your profile is locked anyway? Oh yes, you are right with what you say about that Countrytouch. Seen that before!.I thought sending a friend request was the right thing to do when the feature first appeared on RHP, now I accept friend requests when I'm in the mood. I have some on there who, while I've had very little contact with them, have been around for years to the point where I feel more of a sense of friendship when they come and have a look after I change photos etc, lol. That's just me of course..What other people are thinking I'd only be able to guess. ;-).As a point of interest, Facebook can be quite insistent that you actually know the people you send friend requests to. I've seen it on game pages where you need friends to play the game but can actually end up banned from sending friend requests because you are sending them to people you don't know. This is based on Facebook asking if you know the person when you accept friend requests..Peachy

If people send you a flirt etc whilst having a hidden/locked profile, if they don't realise you can't reply or contact them, they will probably end up thinking you're not interested.

I get friend requests a lot from people I haven't even communicated with. Most of the guys I see aren't on my friends list so how the hell do these new ones expect to get on there? I haven't had a new hook up from this website in quite a while now, I do however see long term buddies who are amazing, two I met on another site. But it's this kind of stuff, and more, won't elaborate too much, that makes me back away from this. I trust my ongoing friends but very rarely see anyone new. As far as their profile not being viewable, that can happen with new profiles or sometimes with edits, but yeah, I get that too, and people who I see have viewed my profile, when I go to check them out, profile unviewable 👎

they hide because they have a need to.... Cos usually.....they're fake asses from another planet trying to get you to "come talk to me at www.domelikeamarshmallow.org" type of thing.... - Posted from rhpmobile

Why the friend request? Most because they are new to the site and thought that was how you went about meeting people. Seems logical to them as they are guests and cant message anyone and when they look around, everyone has friends. And they dont, so........click.....send.....friend....request

Send a friend request, if it's accepted maybe there's some interest. Why one would do it with an invisible profile baffles me, but who are we to judge. Funny how we don't judge sexual wants or desires, but we continue to judge idiosyncratic human behaviour. Lovebitten xox - Posted from rhpmobile

Quoting 'Whateverway' Last week. No previous contact. Sent a message exllaining that i don't accept without some contact. Left the message as an invite to rectify that by messaging back. Nothing came back. Zero. Zilch. WTF? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Bizarre! I'm starting to suspect that a lot of people have extremely short attention spans. They lose interest the second they send off that friend request! LOL!!! As for me, I dislike receiving friend requests from total strangers. I don't even wish to have my friends on my friends list, just to retain an air of mystery!

Having a laugh about it... Then seeing a forum written about it followed by the comments. Who knows, who cares, if it's not going to bother you in the real world?? You have two options. 1) ignore, delete and move on or 2) accept it, and have another friend on your list. The choice is yours at the end of the day. As my mum would say "why is a croaked letter and you can not change it". Ms Foxy

Always feel a slight sense of entitlement or ownership when I read comments like this. Until messages have been exchanged and a date is made; people are allowed to block/deny/ignore you. (imo)
