I find spitting a huge turn-off. Besides, I think saliva sucks as a lubricant anyway as it dries up way too quickly.

Its not so much about lube, its more the act of it which is more a dominant or, to me,kind of a degrading image seen a lot in porn now. Both gay and straight porn. But thats just my opinion. It probably turns a lot of people on who see it done.

there's honestly 2 things going on with it.... 1. Lubrication..... Spitting is all a bit porn really....... and I'm told that so many guys watch porn and think that is reality... and copy it. Fail. It seems to be a reasonably recent "addition" to the porn scene. Porn from not too many years ago did not include spitting as a regular thing to do. I think it is just that the industry is looking for more and more newer things to come up with to keep it appearing a bit fresh - just running out of ideas to keep the whole thing interesting. Some people spit, some people hate it. We are all different in what can turn us off. One easy way to ensure a good sexual encounter is to voice your turn offs before you start. Personally I would say you may find benefit in analysing the why you find spit disgusting as the way you describe it "turn away" it is bordering on a phobia. Not my style. I don't spit (in public or the bedroom) and don't see a need for it to be used as a lubricant. As has been suggested, it may be necessary (especially when women reach that stage when they perhaps don't naturally lubricate as well as they used to... But there are specially formulated lubes for that specific problem and those who need them, know it. I find spitting for any reason, anywhere a turn off and don't understand why anyone would be turned on b y it... As for the 'porn' subject... Taking porn movies seriously, is about the most serious mistake you can make... It's dreamt up by people who cater to a number of different audiences and frankly, the only way they can do that is to include whatever they can think of... Not real and not pertinent in any way to the way things really are.

Even outside of sexual spitting, I personally find snorting and spitting to be bad mannered when done in front of people. Just like public urination (yes that includes my backyard even when you're drunk), and intentionally noisy farting! Aussie men could definitely work on this.

No you're definitely not alone on that. I find it a complete turn-off - tbh I usually switch right off if that's done in porn. It's a terrible choice for lube as well- TBH I'd find the run to the drawer to be far less of a turnoff than someone suddenly spitting on my wang/their vulva.
