The is a strip of garden bed between the carriage ways in Toowong Brisbane, it's called Patterson's Folley. Mr Patterson was a local counsellor who foresaw the need for a duel carriage way with two lanes each side from Brisbane to Ipswich. People laughed at this idea, and at the time only a short section was ever built. That section of Mr Patterson's dream roadway is heritage listed and cannot be altered. It now causes massive traffic congestion. Poor Mr Patterson so much foresight, a man who argued for better roads and improved traffic flows has left a legacy that is an impediment to traffic flows.

About ten years ago I went to see a production of Madam Butterfly,I am no great fan of opera but went with a friend who had a spare ticket. About halfway through the performance the main protagonist ,Pinkerton has to pick up Butterfly and carry her across the stage...I am not sure whether Butterfly had put on a few pounds or whether Pinkerton was feeling a bit under the weather. He manfully scoped her up and then continued to stagger across the stage, There were many indrawn breaths.but I could not control my mirth,I did indeed lol 😂xxFreya

Oh, the folly QLDtwo. :-D Freya, one of the top 10 worst street names in Perth this year is Cockman Cross. I'd still like them to explain why they thought it was clever to name one of the side streets Brilliant Rise. Too funny. Glad I wasn't sitting next to you for the performance... we would have been sure to attract attention, LOL. Haha Amos. Thanks for that story, a lot of it is those inappropriate moments isn't it. Thanks for the info about Dick (tosser) Turner too, he was obviously named in a different time, lol. Countrytouch, hubby was offered Lance Armstrong's book to read while he was going through cancer treatment well over 10 years ago... he still LOLs that he didn't believe it even then. Yes, he is all well all these years later for anyone concerned. :-) LOL Candy... true. Rubenesque, hehehe... Thank you all for the lols... Peachy :-D

A very close friend and work mate one day for a higher position. We were sitting in an office cubicle on the computer. I could smell something revolting. I asked her is she could smell it. I could smell poo. So we start checking our shoes to see if we've stood in dog poo. By this stage we'd been at work three hours. It was really starting to get to me - once you start smelling something you keep focussing on it. Anyway we just started to go back to training when I noticed something on her sleeve. I asked if it was peanut butter, she smelt it and the look on her face before she'd even spoken told me it was not peanut butter! I started laughing and said "OMG is that Sam's?" Which was her toddler. She looked at me all red in the face and whispered "No it must be mine. Sam didn't poo this morning but I went to the toilet just before we sat down!" I lost it hard! She's sshing me mortified that someone would hear. I was hysterical - tears pouring, she's laughing but petrified, and I fell off my chair. So I'm lying in the floor in the middle of an office with 50 people around and my top boss comes around the corner as I'm crying on the floor. I couldn't even get words out to try and justify my behaviour. One of the funniest moments I've ever had at work.

the trouble in that scenario is once you lose it it's hard not to laugh hehe. I was in Melbourne for a company seminar. Everybody in suits and ties and concentrating on the subject matter when the guy sitting next to me whispered something stupid making me chuckle . That passed , but what he said started to play on my mind and I started to get a fit of the stupid's. No matter how hard I tryed I could not hold it in and that seemed to make it funnier. At the end I had no alternative but to try and excuse myself and I couldn't even get that out, so I just left . What made it funnier, was everyone else was either smiling or laughing too.. Took me about 15 minutes to compose myself but getting back into the room was a ordeal . Disaster.. but funny.

I am very well known for laughing at the most inappropriate times and it would happen to me at work constantly. Always triggering everyone else off. My mind goes straight to smut when people say certain things. And the more inappropriate the setting - the harder I find it to regain control 😉

Haha Natural! I watch Hardcore Pawn... too punny. :-D Soft and Amos... I can relate. I'm terrible in a group of particular friends. They get me in so much trouble... not that I need any help, LOL. There are times I'm supposed to be serious and they'll be taking the piss, it's like we're a group of children sometimes! Trying to look serious while the teacher's back is turned sort of thing. And then pushing each other and giggling (the guys aren't any better), kicking each other under the table. Those moments bring up the best energy and keep us all feeling pretty good. Grinning just thinking about it. Peachy

I honestly did not know whether to take you seriously about the moth. How many times have I laughed at the idea of moths flying out of the empty purse, only to have a true to life example by yourself (with a twist) that is too good to be true! Peachy
