Meerkats

July 31 2019

A lovely mid winter's day, a max or 23⁰C forecast, light winds and a picnic at the nude beach beckons. Not many people around when we arrive so our choice of spots with a nice secluded patch of sand nestled between two tufts of dune. Bubbles opened, salmon and avocado on rye and the warm sun on our bare skin. Bliss. We recline on our towels, a responsive nipple between my fingers and my cock being stirred into tumescence from the casual stroking of a searching hand. And then our secluded nook becomes a traffic zone as the meerkats pop up in the dunes and make their way down to the waters edge, passing in a mood killing close proximity to our sand pit. Once there they furtively glance back to the dunes presumably to assure themselves that their valuables aren't being pilfered. So what is the protocol for dealing with unwanted attention from lurkers. FFS. My guest and the only woman on the beach will not be inclined to return after that outing. One guy, passing on his way through and having to pass over a three strand fence was retreating to the dunes for "shelter from the wind". On a day without a breeze.

Public beach and obviously a well known spot. Be proactive and go somewhere off the radar. At my local beach, l was out for a late arvo walk. See some activity a kilometre up. Closer and closer until l could make out a set of feet on someone's shoulders ploughing on the sand. I stopped for a few minutes out of respect but thought fuck it. A public beach so proceeded on. Only when 10 metres away did they see me. Too late. She buried her head in her arms, he a quick wrap of a towel. Me...." Evening, nice weather for it...... Fuck them. Public beach. Coitus interuptus....

First time I went with my ex we were surrounded within minutes. Guys appeared from the dunes one by one until there were six in very close proximity stroking themselves. We moved. Same the next time. We got one of those little shelter tents and were having a picnic like you guys ........all of a sudden this guy pops his head in and asks if he can join us. He was a strapping big German guy. We told him to take a hike. Youi cant stop them from looking. As Annie says, its a public beach. But if they get too close its rude. Go further up beside the watchtower, we found we didnt get any bother up there.

Annie is spot on. I loathe the real meekats, the weird ones that bob up and down, I swear to God they have lost their mind. But unfortunately, it is a public space. I have had a lot of fun at the nude beach but was happy to be watched, those in close proximity though (at my feet) were usually normal people who just enjoyed watching. Huge turn on being watched by respectful people like that. The meerkats are a different species though. Even when asked to move on, they sometimes just stand there, as if they haven't comprehended what you've said. They are very weird. Do they attend swingers clubs?

who are these meerkats? Are they amongst us in our work/life? Can they be normal regular functioning people or do they live in the dunes permanently lol

Being a public beach doesnt mean you have the right to be a nuisance just because you can.. If you see a couple on the beach give them the space they deserve.. In our experience , the beach could be empty but that doesn't stop the meerkats spreading thier towel right next door ? If you get a invite , that's different...

And there is a thrill to being observed, but as you observed Koko, if the voyeurism is overt, then it's a bit off putting. What are they expecting? An invitation to join in? Anyway, we did our best to be in a secluded location, but when they have to climb over a fence to get an eyefull, then it sort of kills it as performance art. I'm sure Heisenberg has a theory on this. The more you observe, the less you are likely to see😂😂😂

Consent is not a guiding principle at the nude beach

While I have never been to a nude beach There is a small possibility that some people go purely for the voyeur experience and for some reason may think if someone is in a public place with no clothes on that they probably are happy to be be looked at and may be up for more ? I would think it really weird to look out my bedroom window to find someone watching but not surprised in a public place and hope they are not police lol

Fortunately, it being winter, the meerkats were reluctant to follow us in for a splash in the "refreshing" 16.5⁰C water. (I brought a pool thermometer down to the beach!). Certainly cooled my ardour, but left us free to have a good laugh as we would try to spot their little heads popping up in the dunes, scouting for a subject to perve on.

The few public nude beaches that are available in the metro area are very precious spaces indeed. They attract quite a varied type of user including the meerkat. I certainly don’t claim to be an expert but from observational experience it seems to work like this.... From the waterline to the bottoms of the dunes is for naturalists and those wishing to enjoy the freedom of being sans clothes. The dunes are claimed by those seeking more nefarious activities..... I’m not condoning or condemning it. It is just a well worn dynamic. So if the meerkats are coming out of their natural habitat and being confronting at beach level then I thoroughly recommend you let them know they are out of their habitat as it is a place for all, including families and children. There are a number of committed naturalists that have worked very hard over the years to keep the public nude beaches open and any behaviours that put that in jeopardy for all should be called out. If on the other hand you have chosen to set up camp in the dunes then it is a case of buyer beware unfortunately. If in doubt, take your shelter with you and stay closer to the shoreline to be on the safe side.

Entitlements In our opinion it might all come down to feeling entitled. The meerkats equate nudity as being an invitation for sex and lewd behaviour. They only go to the nude beach because this is what they are wanting and expecting and it’s something that they feel entitled to. They believe that if you go to a nude beach that you are there to engage in lewd behaviour. Nudity / Naturism is not about sex. Nor is it an invitation to behave in an unacceptable, lewd manner. The meerkats are not only found on a nude beach. There are plenty in here. They are the ones who send pushy and very sexually blatant unsolicited messages. They are of the belief that because this is an adult / swingers site, that it is completely acceptable to send an opening message along the lines of “ I wanna fuck your juicy pussy ...” and that the recipient will be turned on and open to such a message. They believe that we have to accept such a message and if we disapprove then they not only become aggressive but also bitch and moan along the lines of “what are you doing on here then?” Meerkats also frequent swingers clubs . They pay their admission fee and once inside the club go on the hunt, determined to get some action and some juicy pussy, for the $$$ that they have paid. Really no different to their behaviour at the nude beach. The only difference is that sex on the nude beach is unlawful whereas in a swingers club it is lawful. No however still means no . And stalking, lurking & predatory behaviour at a swingers club is totally unacceptable, just as it is at the beach. And then they wonder why couples & single females shy away from the nude beach ? And why the same is now happening to some swingers clubs? Look at the ratio of males to females on here for example ? PS: Meerkats are not only single males , nor all single males, but can also be the male half of a couple. The common denominator is that they are almost always male and that their behaviour is fuelled by their little “brain”

The main reason why we don’t visit beaches is due to the meerkat. Very creepy! The nudist retreats we attend only allow couples , obviously the voyeurism is still there which is a given

Agreed Morethanfun46. The meerkats are welcome to their dune habitat and we did not choose to infringe on their territory. 20m up from the shoreline was a nice scalloped clear patch, with a clear view of the bay, but with restricted views left and right where we good enjoy an intimate morning on an uncrowded beach. That it became a traffic zone for meerkats migration was a source of annoyance, but yes. We'll take our shelter next time. 😀

...the Chipmunks, your remember them, right? Alvin, Simon, Theodore ...and that dink of a manager, Dave? See it's time like these when there just is no substitute for pest control, so you can either drop a wad on Rentokil or do the job yourself. I don't miss the Chipmunks one little bit...especially at Christmas. ʗɱ

Well Andy, lets just say there is a reason that’s the habitat....😏 People that choose to engage in ‘recreation’ in the dunes are many and varied. It’s not for everyone and that’s why it should be respectfully kept discreet to other beach users. There is an unspoken code of conduct similar to that you will find in clubs and private parties. No means no and always ask first... It’s like any activity within the ‘adult lifestyle’. Go slowly. Take the time to observe patiently and learn the dynamics. What is ok for some won’t be for others. And most importantly treat people with respect and dignity. If you think people are uncomfortable with your presence then you are probably right. It’s best to err on the conservative side and allow others to find their comfort zone in their own time and within their own boundaries.

I’m a lurker in the Forums...a non participant in Swinging etc...but for what it’s worth...if you’re out in Public doing anything ....I mean any activity....even shopping...expect the variety of ‘bad’ public behaviour that’s out there...plenty of the public are uneducated , with poor manners ...so surprise surprise at Meerkat behaviour

If it bothers you approach them and let them know you're just there for each other and please leave you alone. Or take a tent and zip it up

The onus is not on the “victims” to go and speak to the “meerkats” nor to have to zip themselves up in a tent (to keep the meerkats away from them) . The meerkats need to learn how to behave appropriately. Many nude beaches have been closed down due to the lewd behaviour of the meerkats.

I agree but the meerkats aren't capable of comprehending or respecting barriers. They've lost their mind. That's why I wonder how they are in their lives

Some have pointed out meerkats aren't just at nude beaches and that is absolutely correct. Any time of the day or night, they are lurking in most dunes. I was having some fun with a regular fb late one night on a quiet little beach, not a person anywhere, it was about midnight. My guy was between my legs lol and out of nowhere,a meerkat sat down next to us!! When asked to leave, he just sat there. Wouldn't move and didn't speak. So annoyed, we had to pack up and go

Good point. We honestly believe that when they get horny / aroused they are unable to think clearly & coherently and that their judgement becomes severely impaired. Clearly there is no respect for ones personal space nor privacy. Possibly they are desperate for any action? The unforgivable part is that they actually think that it’s acceptable to behave like that.

Yes exactly. Personally I think they're mentally ill. Probably from years of rejection and associated frustration, but then there are plenty of people like that who don't turn into weirdos and make a public nuisance of themselves. There seems to be two groups of creeps at Swanbourne, the meerkats bobbing around in the dunes mostly, and the revolting old men who walk close to the shoreline wanking wearing a shirt and no pants. It's just revolting. If you want to go for a swim, you have to get past them. So who are they in everyday life, someone's Grandfather, husband, father, friend? Disgusting and also mentally ill I believe
