A testosterone blood test is required first to find out your levels, 20--25 is normal levels,,Testogel cream comes in measured foiled dosage, easiest to use,,your doctor will put you on the national drug registry to qualify to receive it,,,

Got no idea on that, as I haven't had to worry about it. Libido is still in excellent working order, and not suffering any other signs. If I ever get there, I'll let you know what I decide. Tall

I have now been on testorone replacement therapy over 3 years. Why did. I start, depressed for a time, snappy and short tempered with no mojo. Feeling rather crappy low and fat. It may be chicken and egg stuff but once on it, and it took about a year to optimize the dosage, and now I don't sweat the small stuff, mojo much better, happier with the kids, higher level of patients, muscle gain and yes libido is back in spades. Its not for everyone though. Interesting though the doc was about to dose me with antidepressants., my bloods were in the ranges of T level for my age. The top up certainly has helped though.

Sure beats antidepressants. One of the big probs with antidepressants is that they will also depress the libido. That depresses thing even further.

An Australian study, in 21–35-year-old men with clearly defined normal health and fertility, used gas chromatography mass spectrometry to measure total testosterone. It reported a reference range of 9.7–34.3 nmol/L with a mean of 18.2 nmol/L. However, there were significant discrepancies between the seven immunoassays assessed. Lower reference values ranged from 6.1 to 11.5 nmol/L, and upper values ranged from 35.1 to 44.9 nmol/L, highlighting the dilemma of defining a normal range with individual assays - ref: In Australia, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme subsidises testosterone ‘on authority’ for males with established pituitary or testicular disease. For men over 40 years old without such disorders the serum total testosterone must be below 8 nmol/L, or below 15 nmol/L in association with concentrations of serum luteinising hormone more than 1.5 times the upper limit of normal. To qualify for subsidised treatment, the patient must have a low testosterone on at least two occasions. (Same reference) It's expensive (I believe about $300 a month) if you don't get the two readings of less than 8 in any given month... I was tested and came out at 18 which is the overall average for all ages (as above). I'm happy with that for a bloke in his 50's.There's so much inaccurate info around, about so many things... It seems that doctors don't even know the right answers... So what hope do we have unless we actually check the reliable sources...
