Youth Dew. Probably the strongest on the current market and certainly not suited to many women. I recently tried every other perfume (including mens cologne) I could and none even came close. I dont wear anything else. Certainly not one I would wear while playing with a married man.

Any of the Chanel ones. How about MAdemoiselle? Allure? A friend of mine always used to wear Rive Gauche. Now when ever I smell it the hormones take off. And last week I was in the elevator with someone wearing one of the oldies (4711 or so). Somehow that had the opposite effect. Instantly thought of my nanna - not quite the desired effect. Hypnose by Lancome: someone's got taste. How sexy when a woman knows how to dress, what to wear, and can afford expensive perfume. A trim fit figure, lacy knickers and subtle perfume get s me going. My favourite is Armani Code Black. But my previous girl went wild when I'd come home from my bikeride all hot and sweaty.

Cheap perume burns my nasal hole. You can normally tell its cheap if she's wearing a lot of it. Sometimes less can be more.

It's hard to describe...but I think every woman I have ever known has a scent and a taste that is hers alone...even if it is the same perfume. I would be hard pressed to say "you wear this" as it may conflict...almost as the scents and flavours of anything unique will vary. Nothing too heavy, please...more of an accent to who you are. Paloma and Chanel come to mind...but nothing stands out like the memory of the woman. | Personally I vary...perhaps by day or the mood. Beckham, Burbury, and of course Armani are amongst my favourites. | I enjoy the variety.

Quoting 'spinafex65' mmmm love the smell of Tabu puts a horn on a jellyfish My mum wears tabu it just reminds me of her every time i smell it, i could never wear it, although its very feminine.I am loving Lola by Marc Jacobs or Viva la Juicy by Juicy Couture right now, although theres so many out there, i change my mind all the time, just to keep Mr 2ezee on his toes ;)Although i agree with Nick also, i do love a freshly showered woman, perfume free, wet hair with that just shampooed smell, mmmmm Mrs 2ezee xx

A woman who obviously bathed in White Linen walked past me in the supermarket one day. The scent was so strong I couldn't breathe properly and had to sit down in the fridge section among the cheeses. Thankfully I recovered before I passed out but it was close. Occasionally I still smell it on passers by and it makes me nauseous. Anybody else had the same reaction to a perfume?I am currently wearing Ciara and I wish my partner would wear Cool Water by Davidoff but he doesn't like it.

I'm with you on the Cool Water by Davidoff Mistress T, love the stuff. Don't like the female equivalent (Cool Water for Women) so much but then I discovered.. Cool Water 'Wave' for women, which is reminiscent of the masculine variety. I haven't encountered any scents that make me feel ill as such, other than when someone overdoses on the stuff - what I love is when someone gets the right scent for their chemistry..just magic. Sad when you try it for yourself though..and it lacks the same pizzazz.

KK x

I am not so sure if this is exactly the same sort of thing, but I have actually had a cardio-pulmonary reaction to a couple of fragrances...and it was very scary and quite intense. | Quoting 'MistressT'Anybody else had the same reaction to a perfume? | When I was in Belize...the women there all used some sort of magnificent exotic oil from something that grew there wild? I have no idea what it was...but every time I got close to one of them, my breathing became rapid and shallow, my heart raced, the blood started flowing and ... | I got so hard it almost hurt, MT...seriously! | Mind you...I'm not complaining but damn, how embarrassing if you were just walking in the open air markets and caught a whiff of one of them. | Not all allergic reactions are bad...are they?

I change for the season. At the moment Im tossing from Agent Provacateur and Bulvgari Jasmine Noir. Victoria secrets Dream Angels is a nice day scent. LOVE Tom Fords Black Orchid and next purchase will be the new Narciso Rodriguez fragrance. On a man Clavin Kliens Obsession..oh my god, worn right, I have trouble containing myself from snuggling my nose in his neck. A lot of men just don't know how to wear Cologne. They either have dunked there whole body in it ( cheap stuff big no no!!) Or never put enough on. Still rather they have NO scent on then a cheap brew.

The thing I love about perfume is how skin changes the scent so much! One of my absolute favourites is Lolita Lempicka... I found out that a woman I loathe wears it and it nearly ruined it for me then and there... until I realised just how different her skin is to mine and how much that changes the scent, to the point where I never even realised she wore it. Will always love Jean Paul Gaultier Classic. And whilst it's not one of the expensive ones, Revlon Fire & Ice goes back to my teenage years, it still suits me ;) especially when I mix it with a Rose Musk perfume oil, the combination is really really nice, I had one lover try to eat it off my skin so apparently the combination also tasted good Jaipur Saphir by Boucheron but that may be out of production, I haven't seen it in years...I totally forgot perfume this morning, so I guess I smell like a combination of coffee, coconut oil in my hair, and clean...?

On the rare occasion I do, it is a sparing touch of Omni. Like the war paint, I wear it as a mild camoflage; something to misdirect the senses. A subtle constant to mask the changes in what my body decides the world should know but the brain thinks the world should not.

ha! Colognes are fine... but no underarm deoderant please... it makes armpits taste like an unripe persimmon... plus the aluminium increases my chances of having altzheimers disease. Ball sack sweat on the other hand is all good straight out of the pack.I have a collection of colognes. Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani is my day to day... it's suttle... but I also have A Christian Dior "Dune" that I've been using for 25 years or so... I like it but can only seem to get it at dubai airport these days.Hugss Quoting 'sydneyboy3au' On girls: I'm partial to Armani Code, and Miss Dior Cherie (the one with Natalie Portman on the adOn me: Armani Code for men, Rexona Sport... I have a little bottle with organic essential oils in it - I dunno whats even in it and I occasionally put a wee dab between my breasts if I remember.... But usually I don't put on anything special and often people tell me I smell nice. I use all organic natural products on my skin and hair and aluminium free deodorant too so I don't get stinky. I do love the subtle scent of a man who wears aftershave, but if its too strong it covers up the real smell of him. I love to bury my nose in the space behind a mans ear... and armpits too - especially if he likes me and those pheromones come out to play... mmm...

Isn't it funny how scents can take you back. I mean for me, I used to wear a perfume in my teen years which you cannot get anymore but there is one on the market now which smells somewhat similar. It evokes such powerful memories..more than emories, that sense of stepping back in time. I think that's what I love about 'perfume' how it can define a passage of time, which creates in your senses an irrevocable 'marker'..never to be diminished, but when called to mind, savoured with such sweet poignancy.

If you ever have the opportunity to travel to the south of France, visit 'Fragonard Perfumeur'. They distill many of the flowers and spices that go into the major brands. They also release their own designs. The one thing they do amazingly, is find scents that match your individual taste...yes you can blend your own. It is amazing how what you smell from the bottle or sample card is completely transformed when you wear it. Perfume on a woman is the most gorgeous scent.....when you are close enough to admire the subtly with which its applied.

This is one of my favourite topics, thank you! For myself I have certain signature perfumes..Youth Dew, Opium, Arome Absolu (hard to get this one outside Paris) and Coco by Chanel....they make me feel sexy. My all time fave aftershave for men is Tuscany. The only aftershave that can make me wet just with the scent. I smell that stuff and my body just tells me it's go time.Thankfully I rule my body not the other way around, we can't have the tail wagging the dog now can we? xxKitty

Fiona, Youth Dew reminds me of my mum as does Shalimar (another strong one). As a kid it seemed like Mum would always have sprayed (gallons) on just before getting in the car and us kids getting car sick in the back. Memories... sents always have a powerful way of bringing back memories. . I seem to have collected a number of perfumes over the years and agree with Saturn65 and change them as the seasons change. Of late I have been using Ciara, Society, Jean Paul Gaultier ... Spring is here, I guess I should pull out some of the lighter floral ones.

I have read a topic from top to bottom and enjoyed every post . Thank you OP!.I wear only Chanel Allure. I have tried others and nothing ever comes close..I love to smell men wearing Davidoff Cool Water or Chanel Allure pour Homme. I am instantly and permanently put off by any man who has marinated in whatever scent he is wearing. It needs to be so subtle that I can only smell it if I am leaning in to speak to him. If he smells delicious then I want to bury my face in his neck below his jawline..Chanel No 5 takes me back immediately to being a little girl watching my mum get dressed for a night out..Red Door makes me feel ill. So does my best friend's fave perfume. I forget what it is called but it is exhorbitent and I cannot be in an enclosed space with her when she is wearing it. It smells like Fitzroy st on a Sunday morning before the sidewalk has been hosed down.

I have a cupboard full of perfumes (everything from Britney Spears Fantasy to Issey Miyake to Chanel) BUT I find I hardly wear them. My favourite scent is a Coconut range that smells kinda like a cross between coconut and creamy vanilla. I layer it with scrub, shower gel and the body oil and my skin smells delish :) Unfortunately the only place you can buy the range is in a little store on Singapore so I have to stock up every year when I am there but it makes me smell good enough to eat so it's worth the extra 2kg in my luggage lol
