I don't see either assumption of choice in the OP's wording. The choice is on both people, to be mutual. If it only her choice that would imply that he must have sex during her period if she wants to but he doesn't. - Posted from rhpmobile

As a woman, unless I was out for an orgasm because the spasms help with severe period pain, sexual intercourse really was out. "He" was the hero willing to take one for the team orally. Never have and now, never will since I’ve had a hysterectomy. Very early on in our relationship, I tried the pill and had so much spotting and bleeding, it was also unpredictable, and unfortunately it happened one time whilst we were having sex. The mess, the cleanup etc was so unsexy that I’ve never entertained the idea since. My cycle was horrendous, I felt like crap, probably looked like it to.Yes periods are a part of life, I was always in such discomfort I just wanted to be left alone ... respectfully I was. Mary xx

I used my period as an excuse not to have sex with my ex partner and tbh, the thought was very unappealing, so I never did it. I now have a new man in my life who is amazing. Normally I would only have period sex with my husband, if we were both in the mood at that time. I would never of thought I would feel comfortable doing that with anyone else. HOWEVER A few months ago my fwb had some free time while I was nearby and it was during "that time". I said to him, hey I have my period but if you are ok with that I'm keen. It was one of the best times we have had together. We kept the lights low, had wipes nearby and showered together afterwards. It was not awkward at all. I do have a lot of trust with this person, which makes the difference I think. As long as he knows what he is getting into and he is keen just go for it!
