It's no more more false advertising than it was when you went out on the night you were dressed up for. Makeup may change the details, but not the fundamentals.Met someone who looked different to their profile pic? Yes, to the point of being totally unrecognisable as the same person.

In terms of make-up, my preference is for less. I much prefer a 'cleaner', more natural look. As to your question of meeting someone who looked different to their pictures: not as yet. I think it's a natural inclination to post pics of yourself that put you in your best light. However, on occasion a still photo will capture you in a way that makes you look slightly different. As long as you're not posting pictures of someone else and trying to represent that that is you, then I think you should put up whichever shots you like. As an aside, one of the first people I ever met in person through online was one whose face I had not seen. A body shot, chatting online and speaking on the phone had been our only interaction. Talk about shitting myself when I rocked up. But hey, we went out for four years so I guess all's well.

Beautiful women are beautiful with or without makeup. To some extent makeup constitutes a disguise, and in extreme cases might even be called deception :-)I love natural women without any makeup at all; I'm all for being who you are - maybe that's just the country boy in me :-) 'Society' & the pretentious, fake, image-conscious culture in which we live has created this expectation where many women feel compelled to use makeup just to feel they look 'normal' - or at least 'like everybody else'. That said, well-done - but not overdone - makeup can often - usually - make a woman look more attractive than she might otherwise, but I still feel somehow that it's 'faking it'.Personally, I can take it or leave it, but in answer to your question of would I be disappointed if you/whomever showed up without lipstick - absolutely not; not at all.My $0.02 :-)

Funny how you form pictures of people just from emailing, texting and even from their forum posts. Yet the reality can some times be completely different! On RHP, other sites and even in work situations. I recently saw some photos of a famous lady forum contributor who I always pictured as a hot blonde (with a whip in her hand for some reason) turns out she is a hot brunette with sexy lips. xxx Meeka

You communicate with a person via email or over the phone for ages, and then you finally meet. I don't think anyone has looked how I imagined them. Did she still have the whip? :) I missed the natural pic, more's the pity.

NEVER leave the house without lipstick on!!! I prefer a natural make up look during the day so usually only skim some tinted gloss over my lips for that......BUT........if I am going out at night I ALWAYS wear red lipstick......it makes me feel more powerful and confident......and I also heard on the radio that a study has been done and found that men are more likely to look longer at a woman wearing red lipstick!!!

Reminds me of this problem I had. I went to the doctor with a worrying red rash on my penis (giant penis... sorry - it's the trend atm, important to be specific). He applied some lotion to it and it went away... Two weeks later I'm back there again. Same problem, same cure. The third time I was embarrassed and thinking I am just wasting his time, so asked if I could just buy some of the lotion. He said "Sure - it's make-up remover." . Make-up looks good... but when it comes to getting down, dirty and naked - you want skin on skin... and lips on lips and nothing in the way. Attractive is attractive - with or without makeup. I mean if you only find your partner attractive with make-up on, what do you think of them the rest of the time?

With or without you are still attractive. Ignore comments from the ignorant and just be yourself. But don't ever go blonde!! I went from dull brown to blonde and lost about 50 IQ points.

I love red lipstick, it does catch the eye and makes the woman stand out in a crowd. In saying that, like you Meeka, I wouldn't ever wear it during the day as it's a bit much. But I do wear make-up whenever i'm in public. It is amazing how much of a difference it can make though, to the point where as some have said the woman can look completely different without it! I don't care though. It makes me feel more sexy and confident with it on, and why not improve your assets if you can by emphasising them. I think your profile picture with the red lipstick is gorgeous! Do whatever makes you feel happy and screw people who aren't happy with it, you can't please everyone and shouldn't be trying to please anyone but number one..yourself! Miss Didactic xx

Have you ever been in a situation when you have met someone you originally met online and thought who the hell is that ?? People change all the time. For hairstyle or color to body shape. Most people probably don't update there gallery to reflect that. That's probably why people don't match there photos when you meet them.I assure you that is 100% me. So is that false advertising? I think you have answered your own question. If the pics are 100% you then it isn't false advertising. Make up has been used for centuries to enhance a woman's looks. So its obvious there would be a difference in appearance. Some people are naturally beautiful others need a little make up to appear more attractive. My advice is don't over do it or you will look pasty.

From a few conversations I have had with pple on RHP and from speed dating (hated that :( ) Some men have met up with women who when they turn up are someone completely different just because they have used a photo which is 10 years old or one guy said that a women was using a picture of her daughter as her profile pic. Hehehehe...

Hey Funlovin - don't worry I would never let a loser like that change my opinions. I put it back in the PG vault because I thought it would be too recognisable as me. Wanted a little discretion. So the pic is up for now but probably not for long. Why do you not have a pic anymore?? xxx Meeka

By the way, I loved Jeano's sore penis joke.Makeup?... Some women never leave their homes without some makeup on their face.... but for a profile pic, there's nothing wrong about using a bit of self promotion. What's with Lipstick? .... It's well established fact that a wry smirk from a pair of shiny ruby red lips sends the sexy signal... at a subliminal level it's kind of saying "I'm healthy"... as opposed to dry cracked and palid lips which say I've got the black plague or sommat. Anyway, your "natural" photo also shows a pair of shiny red lips, good healthy teeth... and that smile... smiling people get dates! :pHugsStalky

My personal preference is for just a little make up to highlight. To much make up, over done hair SCREAMS high maintenance. You look great in all of your profile pic's, which means that you are a very skilled photographer, or just dam hot.

Oh...... Have you ever tried to run your fingers through someone’s hair and found that it was being held in place by enough hairspray to hold back a small tsunami? Disentangling from such a mess and replacing removed pieces of scalp can kill the moment.

Hate to disillusion you all but you know if you take around 50 million photos at the right angle eventually one looks half decent. Then you use it as your profile pic and everyone thinks you really look like that. PMSL. As one kind gentleman described it to me - no you will not run away with your hands in the air screaming if you see my PG pics but I probably would not turn up to a meeting with you in a corset, false eye lashes and red red lipstick. Which is all the better to suck you with. Thanks JG for the support. Hehehehe.. xxx Meeka

Hi! Meeka. I think the amount of makeup should match the kind of activity you are into at the time.. .Unless you're my age and told a young Guy you're 25 then Man one would need lots of Makeup ,lipstick He!he! now Red Lips as you know is supposed to attract Males, because it highlights that you're ready to mate, much the same as Monkeys have red butts ha!ha! that's why it's noticeable by Guys.Especially when you're wearing none. ...Lol Lu

Oh christ when will people stop worrying what people think of you on here. For every one that calls you a fat cow there are a dozen more that love curves. We dress up, poke and preen to make ourselves feel good about ourselves, and yes to hook up with someone that we are attracted too. Mind you a smashing do and a sexy dress aint going to get very far if you dont take a bath or brush your teeth. For the record Meeka you look great made up or not.... and from all this banter looks like there are plenty of people that agree. xxxxxxxMR A
