There could be 1 reason for the disappearing messages.. from what I know if someone hides their profile then makes it visible again all the messages will be gone..

I fully understand how it could be annoying to some. Everyone filters in different ways. When I first started out I’d block anyone from chats that I had no interaction of meeting. These days, I move them, as well as chats that have gone quiet, or deleted their side of the chat feed to my ignored folder. Over the years, I’ve learnt to give much less thought to the occurrences you mention. I’ve learnt that silence is information, and that I have very little influence over how others filter and handle chats. If they delete chat or block then, I let my ego go, and simply see it as we do not align. Simple as that. They’ve saved me the effort in many ways. I have countless messages in my ignored folder though, all of which I’ve read. And do find it amusing more than a frustrating when someone who’s deleted their side of the chat, drops back in many months later as they’ve likely forgotten they’ve reached out before. Even though their side of the chat has been deleted, mine still shows, and often shows that I’ve already said we don’t align. Some I gently remind we have gone down that road before, most I read then keep the chat in my ignored folder.

Yes. I find it annoying and at first I also found it hurtful. I have had this happen twice, where I was talking to a guy for days or weeks in 1 case and I thought oh good I think I feel comfortable for a meet, then all of a sudden, gone. Now I realise it’s not me but the first couple of times it hurt.

I might have this wrong, but don't guest account messages delete after 7 days if a message thread has no new messages? Appreciate that doesn't cover all scenarios, and yes, many users are trigger happy on the delete, but they may not all be deleting intentionally.

I do get these a lot from couples, they just vanish after a great chat. Never bothered to chase them.

Just like how you can msg female after female, respectfully, referring to their profile or something of the sort to initiate conversation, they view it and ignore you.. no response is not a response.. it’s rude.. before social media if I was to approach a woman and ask her something or talk to her she would respond.. weather good or bad.. no just look at you then walk off.. I dare say a lot of blokes on here wouldn’t be like that of woman responded and said if they were interested or not.. those that don’t accept the answer, well I guess you block them.. at least a reaponse was had..
