Sex Songs

February 25 2011

sex

Over the last month or so I have noticed a rise in the amount of songs on the top 40 charts that are about sex or have sex or fucking mentioned in them. The first 3 that come to mind are: S&M - Rihanna "Cause I may be bad but I'm perfectly good at it, Sex in the air, I dont care I love the smell of it, sticks & stones my break my bones but chains and whips excite me!" (My current favorite song) Dirty Talk - Wynter Gordon ""Kitten Heels, Lingerie, Pantyhose, Foreplay, Legs up, on the bar & in the back of your car, latex, champagne, bubble bath, whipped cream, cherry pop tag team, can you make me scream. I wanna do some dirty things to you tonight" Tonight (I'm Fucking You) - Enrique Iglesias "Here’s the situation, Been to every nation, Nobody’s ever made me feel the way that you do & You know my motivation, Given my reputation, Please excuse I don’t mean to be rude but tonight I’m fucking you" Personally I dont mind as I think all 3 are awsome songs, but it seems everything is getting more sexual these days even music, not to mention the music clips for these 3 songs are hot! What are other songs that you recon fit into this catigory & do you think some of the songs are going to far? After all its not only adults who listen to these songs but my 11 year old cousin loves the song Dirty Talk & she doesnt even know what half the words in the song mean and its even worse when she walk around singing it in public! Taby.

Just not as explicity worded... . Peggy lee - You give me fever Grace Jones - Pull up to my bumber baby, in your long black limousine . Sex has been a taboo part of society for so long that I am actually not sure if bringing it out into the open via the world's new young role models is a more a good thing or a bad thing. Removing the taboo allows young people to be able to more freely acknowledge their sexuality, whatever that may be. But introducing sexual concepts at too young an age, before emotional maturity sets in, could cause all sorts of problems. . It sure makes me glad I don't have teenage children!

Not really a top 40 kinda girl so I don't know any of those songs but i think it's always been out there . i'm in love with the lyrics to China by Sparkadia right now, in my simple little mind it always makes me think of the g-spot one day I touched a nerve by mistakePressed too hard and she started to shakeEvery time that I go there I know there's so much she can takeBefore she breaks ... When she worked out where my weakness layShe wouldn't stop until I gave wayEvery time that she goes there she know there's so much I can takeBefore I break

Mainstream pop music and all that hip hop and stuff doesn't do it for me.Though sexual songs have been around for ever, but they are apparently becomingmore explicit as opposed to inuendo and more explicitly sung by young females. There was an interesting discussion on this very topic on Abc local radio yesterday afternoon.Cheers Nev .......Dedicated Aunty listener

Here are just a few that come to mind without even thinking about it... | Exile - "Kiss You All Over" | Bryan Adams - "Let's Make It a Night to Remember" | ...not a one of them needed "urban gutter" to get the message across.

Go listen to anything from the 80's (rock, not pop shit) and it was all sexual innuendo.

sex has always been around in music...especially pop music - "sex sells" afterall the film clips have def gotten sexier over the years...sometimes bordering on soft porn. I aint mad at that though lol and btw, Rhianna should only be able to sing about sex. that girl is the hotness *drool*

Songs, well rock n roll songs in particular have always been about sex. They nearly all have double meanings....so many songs where the word 'love' is used the singer is actually saying 'cock' LOL example KISS'.." My LOVE is larger than life" hahaor their song from 1974 "Nothin to Lose".....with the line..."I thought about the back door..." says it all really! Then Prince (not that he's what I'd call a rock artist)....but most of his stuff is based on sex..listen to "Darling Nikki" off Purple Rain....Hey even Diana Ross' song "Chain Reaction"...listen to it..was about orgasm! But as rockercouple will agree..if you want some good raunchy fuck songs..you can't go past the 1980's hard rockin hair bands!

You see, Ronnie? His dick is the gun!'

If you want to see a funny movie get 1998's "DETROIT ROCK CITY" it's a riot!!.

By the Beatles, was really 'I wanna hold your Gland' but parlorphone records objected to Gland as too suggestive in the 60's.(lol) . Recording standards have slackened off by small degrees over the years spurred on by artists like Prince who, under contract had do do another album so he wrote 'You sexy mother fucker' and other lewd titles for his material and shafted his label company coz radio wont give air-time to lyrics like that. Anything by Prince is poetry in motion with a amazing sexual overtones (Red corvette, I hate u, cream, peach....). Music, for the main part, is the language of love expressed. If that means 'getting jiggy with it' or 'bump n grind' or 'please please me' then it's all good. We have not lost our passion, top 40's past and present.

Sex in music is old school - muso - lovers rather than fighters!! OMG I still remember the first time I saw a old clip of Jim Morrison sauntering around in those leather pants singing those imfamous words.... didnt know what he meant at the time, but I remember thinking "Man, he is COOL!"

I reckon those songs were always around, just not as transparent, and usually male performers too. EG: Jimi Hendrix - Foxey Lady, Mick Jagger - Sex Drive, Chilli Peppers - um, most of their songs, even BB King - Rock me Baby. Certainly almost all male rock stars usually have one song at least that you know they're singin about themselves, hinting to the world that their bedroom skills might just be the best ever. And those guys did have the appeal to back that shit up. I think these days that our male rock stars might be a bit metro-ish (is pansy the right word?), they're not up on stage, cock in hand and telling everyone how good they are, they just giggle and blush. The new generation of sexy, switched on and empowered female stars (Rihanna, Wynter Jordan), well they seem to me more like your Jimi's and Jaggers, in your face and more than we could handle in just one night, and Enrique seems to be the only bloke out there singing the obvious, "I've a lovely cock and you'd love it all night.." type of song. and he ain't no Jimi Hendrix, hell, his tally for girls makes Gene Simmons' claims seem conservative, but hey, it was the 60's.. So that's my opinion, the girls are stepping up to fill the gap left by the decline of the tight-crotch grabbing, leather pants wearing, womanising sex addicts that used to be front men in the world's biggest bands. Therefore, the solution MUST be a Rihanna and Wynter duet with special guest star, Pinky the double dildo. . . . fingers crossed. .

Martika's 'Love Thy Will Be Done' and Chris Isaak's 'Wicked Games' are my favourite songs for sex, shall I ever get the opportunity to do so.
