After ten years of deliberation, contemplation and fantasising my husband convinced me it was a good idea to go to our first party / event . We got out of the Uber to be met by a guy I grew up with and went to High School with . He was the bouncer on the door . Strangely enough I was alright with it . It was lovely to catch up with him .   Yes, in a two degrees of separation type of way! The female half of the first couple we played with knew a lot of my old friends, went to all the same clubs I went to etc... oddly we didn’t ever remember meeting 🤷🏻‍♂️ Our birthdays were a day apart and we ended up in adjoining rooms in a Stanford that evening! A night of coincidences! A number of other people we’ve met work with friends or at the same place as one us, we’re all adults so it’s never been an issue. We’ve come across a few we work with on here, a few we’ve avoided, one or two we’ve blocked 😳 Adelaide’s a small place!

  Great topic Shells, I recognised a house in a couples profile once (as it featured in the background). It was literally one block way from my house in Brisbane. I used to jog past it and if they were out the front garden I would wave as I went past. They would wave back, but I don’t believe they realised who I was, and I never told them. X Obi1

  Well that’s one of our secret wish but remained fulfilled so far. Wish that we meet someone here and during chat we find out that they are someone we know or vice versa

  We bumped into a real life friend and colleague at our 1st event, never really happened like that again. A case of our worst fears being manifested but actually it was all ok.

  Partner came across an old school friend at a sex in the city party once , was a little embarrassing for her at the time but after a few minutes , they got on like a house on fire

  Have had similar a few times, First was a chat with a lady at a Swingers club, she seemed to. recognise me and was asking where we may have met, I couldn't figure it out until a few days later when I realised she was present during a job interview I had been to a week or two earlier. Most recent was meeting a couple at a thearter reasturant, we all got on well and had a great chat, the next day I seen their profile on here....

  Not so much here, but just around - My friends call it "The Brisbane Effect". I have so many people I know, that know others I know in completely different contexts. One friend claims that the 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon is only 2.7 for Brisbane.

  Meet up with this gorgeous girl at a xmas do some years back. We hit it off and got quite cosy on the night . Then ' through the course of our conversation ' learned we were both in the same class at primary school ? Obviously we both looked alot different to the gorky schoolkids we were back then.. When she told me her name l remembered and she remembered me telling me l completely ignored her ? 😏

  Yes ,was at a party and this hot and faintly familiar lady was there . I spent so long looking at her before giving up and just asking ,before the creeper vibe happened ,had we met before , as it turned out we had and had spent many many weekends over a number of years in a hobbie ,she was young at the time but we all were ,Had much more to do with her mum and dad ,back then but always thought that chicks going to be or is a hottie and lives the odd perve , go foward , I think 20 years and hello she is and playing our game ,whoohooo ,Fantasy’s do come true,I must say I do love saying, say hello to ur mum for me as an evil humorous parting gift when ever we cross paths now ,
