I love tattoos, and anyone who has a problem with tatts seriously needs to find something else to do with their spare time.

Tattoos are a very personal thing. If someone does not like them it is their choice. People with tattoos tend to respect that. Unfortunately most without tattoos fail to reciprocate the respect. having tattoos myself, i tend to be prejudged. It is how i behave and how i am as a person that brings a little illumination into their opinion. Many that have got to know me before discovering i have tattoos are surprised that "someone me you has tattoos! Would never have thought it !"

The love of tattoos are grandeur. The Idea of having one or many, boost the love of artwork. The psychological aspect varies from "being tough" to "the love of the feeling of needle like scrapings upon the skin", Some just love art, others just makes it a sentimental value. I, myself have one Tattoo. And May never need more. The tattoo I have, I love deeply, cos it represent everything about myself, and my spirit. Spirit as in, What I do, in the spirit world. If that is, anyone follows the old aged concept of religion that predates the current ones. (eg: Celtic, new age, druids, paganism. Wicca, god knows what else) Since I drew this on paper, and having asked the artist to ink it in as is, the tattoo becomes a unique, highly valued, sentimental artwork. It is not a common trashy "I luv Mom" thing. More so, even tho it represnt me, it also a tool to determine if anyone understood it. It doesn't matter WHOM has the tattoo, what matters is HOW much of WHAT. I know a bloke, who has a "thing" about skulls, and thus have his entire body from the neck down to the wrist and ankles, covered with tattoos of various skulls. and I do mean every inch of it. To me, that is repulsive. Too many skulls represent disturbances. One skull on the other hand, represent something else entirely, and better. Having too many tattoos destroys the beauty of the human body, having few tattoo's, makes the beauty of the body glows. One person, whom I have met, have a tattoo of words in Latin, and a couple of names underneath it.. along the inner side of his left forearm. I inquired about it, although i forgot the meaning of the Latin words, but the names are his mates, that died in Bali Bombings. Now to me, that tattoo, is highly valued sentimental. I once shared rent with a single mother of two. She has a gorgeous tattoo of a peacock along the side of her right leg, starting at the top most part of her hip, down to the ankle, where the feather ends. And along the side of that, is her two children's name. I value that! However, My sister, have tattoos of bits and pieces, on ankles, on left hip, of finger, etc etc.. which i find it repulsive, for it means nothing to me. Regardless. Now, to answer the question. I find it a turn on, if a female have a couple of decent artwork tattoo on it. BUT, turn off, if she has tattoos everywhere. In other words: Let me see and appreciate, the beauty of the female body, in all its natural glory, without being destroyed, covered, hidden within, the artwork of way too many tattoo's

Depends on the tats, like clothes what you wear can make you look and feel good but their appearance to others may not have the same affect. I dont have a problem with them as long as they are done tastefully, by which I mean a good quality and not just splattered over the body for sake of having them. I know a few people who now hate what they got years ago, so you obviously have to put considerable thought into what you want to wear for the rest of your life. I have a small one on my shoulder but havent got anymore because I havent found anything (yet) that i would want to see all the time and i'm not obsessed with finding one in a hurry, it will come to me one day. But like clothes at the end of the day its what pleases you and if it does then knock yourself out. I dont believe people who have tats get "judged or stereo typed" like they used to when I was younger. PD

I actually dont like tattoos very much . I will never get one myself. In saying that I also dont think I'd ever decide I disliked some one just because they have them or conversely get wet knickers because they do have them. One would hope people are judged on more than a skin decoration. Peace be with you Dev xx

Personally, I don't have any, only coz I'm too chicken to get one......it's a pain thing - I don't like pain. But it depends on the tattoo and who is wearing it and where. Other than that, tattoos shouldn't represent the person, the person should represent the tattoo.

As someone mentioned before, the old saying" "The only difference between someone with Tattoos and someone who dosen't?" "People with Tattoos don't care if you haven't got any." We both have Tattoos, Mrs R only one, Mr R many. We don't mind either way. It's the person that counts.

For myself, a tattoo is an adornment - no different really than a dress, or shoes or earrings I might wear to pretty myself up. The only difference is they cannot be removed and stored in the wardrobe at the end of the day. I adore my ink and like to think of myself as a work in progress. Some people are vocal in their dislike of them, but I find that the majority are fascinated not just by the tattoo's themselves but by the story behind each one.

Good quality tattoos look great, I particularly like the tattoos on the faces of the Mauri warriors. But beware, ink looks great on hard muscle and tight sking, anything other is not my cuppa.

Well chosen dezigns in the right spot are incredably sexy. Bad tats I think dont detract fro a womans beauty. I've never heard the expression tramp stamp, most amusing, like "fag hag" some wasted creativity there on the part of someone who has very little to begin with.

Well for me tattoo's are an absolute turn on , no matter who is wearing them , i am an avid fan and collector myself , a well placed tattoo following the shape of the body , can only enhance one's assets, if i had my way i would be covered in more pieces , a great way to show your appreciation of a true artform .

I have a small tattoo on my butt.. When I had it done I had it done for me without a thought about what anyone else might think, so how other ppl feel about it is irrelevant to me. Roy likes it, he helped me pick it. Roy has tatts on his arms and back, I like them they turn me on lol - especially the one on his back - and he also isnt concerned with whether others ppl like them or not. When u read profiles, ppl who dont like tatts usually state this in their profile, so naturally we dont make contact with these ppl. Tina

Yep - like em a lot. No I don't have any... yet. Partner doesn't like em at all, however I have waited long enough (try 12 yrs!!) and will be getting one for my birthday this year. Ha ha - well it is MY birthday after all. *lol* Any good artists that can be recomended? Preferably without the dickhead attitude of the guy in Raine Sq Perth (He has a full Maori face tatt). I'd like a musical motif. Oh - yep.. I like em on women. Never a turn off, but if they are good and suit the lady, then definately a TURN ON!!

I love my tatts. Each one (I have 3) means something to me. I love showing them off to people and love to hear thier comments but it doesnt worry me one way or the other what they think. Ultimately I got them for myself. The thing that was my biggest consideration when getting a tatt was the gravity factor. I didnt want to get a nice sea eagle that 10 years down the track was going to look like a very old pelican! I love shoulder and back tatts on men, and I am partial to a nice armband. I do like them on women especially lower back and hips, outside of the thigh can be nice as well. Like others have said if its a nice tatt done well and in the right place it can be very sexy. Mrs xx

I have 2 tatts, both in spots that aren't easily seen unless i wish people to ( right shoulder and left calf ). I did that mainly for work, cause the old saying about employers and tatts still ring true in most professions. Personally I love chicks with tattoo's, and they can also be a good ice breaker when meeting for the first time. For people to dislike someone because they have one or a few, well that just shows how closed minded they are .. and obviously not worthy of your attention.

Personally; I like good art work, wether its a tattoo or a pic on the wall. I have many mates with tatts, some are great, others not so. I have been with a couple of women with tatts, one had a tiny one, one had 2 large ones and one had really large all over her chest, leg, back etc etc. You know what? I didn't notice them, really...after the first meeting I did not even notice them because I was noticing the person and I liked what was in the skin they were in not just the skin. Come to think of it, I couldn't really tell you what some of my best mates tattoo's are. I like your tatts Opal, more importantly you do. I like your face too. If a bloke finds your tattoos a turn off, he probably isn't your type of bloke hey. To each their own...all about judging which is something too many folks do. Watch Miami Ink and tell me Cat turns you off, yeah right! Cheers

Tatts and the reasons behind them are as varied as the faces of those cramming todays busy parlours and while there are heaps out there that knock you over with "what were they thinking", there are also plenty of insane works that if I didn't draw myself, I would be proud to wear for life. Provided the tatt means something to the wearer it's good. As far as the ladies go, I myself find not much sexier than some well thought out tastefully located ink and the sassy attitude that wears em' like badges!

Tatts are a turn on. Mrs kneez has them and I have tried so hard to lick them off I think I have almost worn my tongue out. But it has been fun trying. Mrs kneez gets plenty of looks, some look down at her but most want to stop her and have a good look. Dam singers parties are the worst lol. Every one is checking them out, does not bother me, she looks hot.

I've never given much thought to what others think of my tattoos.. I have 4 and they all represent a special life memory for me.. They certainly don't define me as a person.. I find tattoos on others a fantastic icebreaker for conversation, sometimes they tell a wonderful story, and others can just be great examples of creativity..

Tatts are a personal choice, though i have seen a few women with tatts, that i thought cood of done better by getting something a little more more tasteful. Women with tatts should think about what they get, so as not to take away from their natural beauty. The right tatts in the right places can only enhance a womans beauty more. I personally find women with tatts sexy. For some reason ppl never look at men and say that tatt doesn't suit him, well if they do you never here of it.

Great topic may i just say :) I've grown to love tattoos as the skilled art form is truly is, a well designed and placed tattoo can be both beautiful in highlighting the body and in conveying a story or message... I've had more nice comments on my lotus from complete strangers than any other feature of my body so i'd suggest they're a good ice breaker. The only comment i've heard from an old work colleague was that he'd been told by other 'mates' that women who have lower back tattoos are usually into anal sex... hmmm don't know where that came from as i didn't think tattoos really signified one's sexual desires that accurately...

i know this is a bit off topic i think it is the quality of the work that counts, a good artist will help guide you in what is the best piece for you and the look you are trying to achieve. a well designed and balanced piece is a beautiful thing reguardless of the subject or the sentiment. with the recent flood of populatity of the tattoo with shows like 'tattoo wars'and the various **** ink shows, tattoo studios are like milk bars these days, popping up on every second corner, and with the huge demand for tattooists alot of seriously underqulaified 'artists' are trying thier hand at a trade that they are not suited for and still making a good living ruining peoples skin i myself am an artist off 8 years and have witnessed first hand the flood of bad art out there. so take caution, i love tattoos on both men and women, but do a little reseach go through magazines go online, find a tattooist with a good reputation and a high quality of work and tkae his advice if he offers it. the old bumper sticker 'keep australia beautiful, get a tattoo' is still true, just mae sure you get it from someone who knows what they are doing ;)

I did my first "tat" when I was just 13yrs old... indian ink, cotton and needle, although for obvious reasons, I had it covered up 4 yrs later, with a rose and my first borns name. That was the beggining for me.... So young! lol I am now working on a sleeve and have had back work done (still alot to go!) and will more than likely end up with another sleeve! My husband just had his first one daone a year go, and is working on a sleeve also. I feel it is a personal preference... and having been in the public eye with my career, I have had a mixed response, but 98% is great! I even had a 70yr old approach me asking if they are real! I have chosen to have no outlines, colour only and they look very similar to air brushing.. very feminine... so many people.. male & female, young and old, just come up to me and start feeling my arm! lol.... Maybe its not just my arm they want!! lol I have only had one negative response on here... a young lady contacted us and after reading in her profile of her dislike of tats, I responded by letting her know we do have tattoo's, and if she is prepared to accept us, for who we are we would be prepared to accept her for who she is... She turned us down... lol...personaly I find that so narrow minded, but that's her personal choice, and I respect that. I think tats these days with all the bright and beautiful designs are sexy and hot!!... Turn on for sure!!!

great topic ... very timely for me I think some tatts look hot and some just look like crap, on men and women, but my opinion is just that, an opinion, and not something the owner of a tatt should worry too much about. In fact, I'm working up to my first tatt, and I already know that some people think is sounds great and some are horrified lol - like I care! I know what I want, and why! On a slightly different note, I asked someone to come with me when I get it, because I'm completely chicken and want someone to hold my hand. He made an interesting point ... tis best to go alone, because if you ever have a falling out with the person who went with you, it can tarnish the memory of the tatt. Thoughts?

Don't forget 'arse antlers' for the tribal/celtic patterns on the lower back. BTW - I think tattoos look quite nice, I was just doing the negative response thing to stir people up! LOL! I'm pretty sure that most people here are pretty open minded. You'd get a lot more judgement from people outside this site I think. But at the end of the day... who really cares what people think if they don't like them? It's not like it's a religion where you have to convert people to think the same way as you. As a guy who has had multiple piercings, colours of hair (yeah yeah it's all gone now because of it!) and mohawks I'm used to people not liking my style. But I just never really cared because they were generally the people I didn't like their style anyway.

mmmm, tough one. I like tattoo's on women,. but am not a fan of badly done, shit pieces, male or female. Having said that, I have one of these "shit" pieces, resulting form a drunken crawl though Kings Cross from my time in the Army. I don't regret it, but neither is it my favourite piece, lol. At the end of the day, whether or not I like your tatt's is irrelevant, as I still judge you on you, not your ink ;)

I like or don't like the lass regardless of whether she has chosen to tattoo. I myself chose not to many years ago, despite having spent a few of them in the navy. I may change but my tattoo's cannot and i might not like them at a later stage in my life so i've chosen not to do it. Piercings are different, they easily removed ;). If a lass has chosen to tattoo its not plus or minus to me. I will or won't like a lass regardless of her tattoo/s. Thanks for reminding me, i'm off to put the Prince Albert in... oooh that smarted a little, i should wear it a little more often i think. I hardly ever use it now days but i like having the option so had better keep it open lol

In my opinion, some tattoos are ok, but need to be done with care. Small and unobtrusive is the key here. Some can certainly enhance a woman's "sexiness", but they mustn't be over the top.

tattoos is something u like or dont like as it can be called getting ink done. I Have a tatt on my left arm and i getting a back job done soon so i love tatts. Most have a meaning to how there on some are nicer then others. I was watching the tigers and the magpie game and to magpie palyers had sleefs and the look alsome and there stood out big time (go the tigs)

We both have tattoos and and we both will agree that they are hot! Its really a personal thing i guess and people obviously have tattoos done for a reason. On a female they have to be obviously girly and sexy.... the smaller they are and the more hidden they are is very sexy ecspecially when it come to undressing a woman you are intrigued to keep exploring. For a guy i think that they look amazing an there is no limited number to how many they should have.... People notice our tatts as they are unique and sexy....... I think tatts are a go just girls dont get to manly with them

I would say turn on, but there is limits for me, for example if a women has tats covering her whole body and in places such as her head i would be turned off, but a few tats and on places such as her ankle, breast, lower back, shoulder blades, bum and her privates ;) i love

I like tattoos...but what I like more is the story behind them. I don't like when someone just gets something so they can say they have one! I have a couple and have another I'm getting next month...then maybe a half sleeve done in the traditional Maori chisel style. I have to find out if it's tapu for a woman to have it first though. All of my tattoos are designs I wanted for a long time before getting....I designed them all and all have a special significance to me.

Remember like, 20 years ago, if someone had a tattoo it is was very cool and not that common? Today it kinda seems eeeeeeverybody has a tattoo. I love seeing artwork being worn on someone's skin, but I think I have a little bit of tattoo fatigue. Having said that my man has several and I can't see him stopping any time soon, thank goodness! A massive turn on! About the woman with tattoos bit.. I think women are definitely seen differently to men. I know for a fact the one that I want (down the left side of my neck and over my collar bone) would make it extremely difficult to get a job, and in fact I wouldnt be able to keep the job I have now. I believe that if the same tattoo was on a man he wouldn't have the same problem. Also, YAY for women moving on from daisys and butterflies and being bolder with their designs and the size of them, they look great. Wear them with pride, who gives a shit what any one else thinks. xxSoubi

I don't find tattoos to be a turn on, just on their own. But good tattoos on an attractive and sexy person can really add to the turn on. However, I have never understood why some people seem to get tattoos without thinking them through. If you are going to add body-art to your life, and it will be forever, why wouldn't you choose the artist and the art-work carefully. And it needs to be planned out, so that it compliments your body and the tattoos should compliment each other, too. Some tattoos really are great works of art and are very sexy, but there are a lot of ugly tattoos out there and they don't do anything for me.

I have tatts on both shoulders so I'm biased maybe cos I think they are really sexy on girls.....but I believe in quality over quantity....a well placed, stylish artwork can be the sexiest thing...we could have the same discussion about intimate jewellery...(actually can we ?)... I really like seeing girls with full artwork all down an arm....on some girls it is a sexy as hell. Then again I have seen one small tatt that just doesn't do it for me on other people. We are objective people with varying opinions....not everybody is going to like your tatts....and some...like the two girls who quizzed me about mine at the beach the other day really like them.....(yes I was flattered)... Mine make me feel good....make a statement about me...and I can't imagine not having them. They are addictive....I yearn for more.....so I can completely understand that others, m or f would feel the same way....sometimes when I see a girl with tatts it REALLY turns me on....but that's me....I'm a horny bugger at the best of times.... Bar codes ? Tramp stamps ? Yeh...so what....? For every person that thinks they look rough...there is another that loves them. What I'm critical of is people who are so insecure that they try to make themselves fel better by hanging shit on other people (because they have tatts or whatever) ...I mean how shallow is that ? If you don't like them...that's one thing...but don't try to make someone feel smaller because they do something to make themselves more beautiful, more erotic, more desirable, more loveable....or send a mesaage that really means something to them....through their own living canvass...their flesh, their blood...their skin. Don't be shallow people....be deep. Dog.

I don't personally have any tattoos - yet! I do not dislike them nor do I have anything against them on either men or women, each to their own. I do have to agree with some of the other forum comments though, a nice placed tattoo on a womans body is much more sexi than several "man sized black or dark coloured" ones scattered wherever! My feelings on this extend to mens tattoos also. Dont get me wrong, show me a man who has a nice couple of tribal arm bands and my knickers are already wet!! One or two with real meaning and understanding far outweighs I think I might get another one today!

I don't have tatts, they don't do anything for me, and generally I find them a bit of a turn off, but I have had girl fiends that do have them and it wasn't a problem. Form me it's the size and quality, I know a couple of girls who are head to foot tattoos, nice girls, but yuk! I'm just not attracted to that. I've also seen some pretty poor art work small but tacky. I think that if you don't respect your body enough to get a good quality tatt then don't ask me to respect you. But hey, if you love your tatts and love showing them off then good for you. cheers, RHG

its not quite as black and white - like them or not - i don't think. i mean - some people like to put a lot of vegemite on their toast and some only like a little, others don't like it at all :-) for me, tattoos can be extremely sexy on a girl, but I'm more into the smaller - medium ones. rightly or wrongly - i also think that it depends on who has the tatt... a bad tatt just makes a derro-lookin girl look even more derro. either way.. whatever works for you :-)
