Being a cynical old cunt I rate Valentines Day up there with Halloween in the commercial exploitation stakes and with the Catholic Church in the keep them poor and keep them guilty stakes. I prefer my romance spontaneous, not measured and evaluated by how much I spend compared to everyone else. Valentine's Day is for the merchants and the emotionally fragile.

one day is just another day...birthdays, celebrations days. father's day.. mother's day... couple's day... I have no feeling for them... EXCEPT.. maybe Mother's day actually... Fck Valentines day... the cost of all the flowers and chocolate would break my bank account...

It's so commercial with the chocolates and the overpriced flowers and the teddy bears with the hearts..... What means something to me is long conversations over dinner, walks while holding hands, just spending time enjoying each other's company. Ahh, I dunno. There is always some pretty humorous events on. There is a pub nearby having a Stupid Cupid anti-Valentines day trivia night. And a couple of years ago I did a smutty romance writing workshop. That was a bit of fun. And I've had done some uber kitsch things in the past, for the giggles. Yes it's lame and cliche - but doesn't mean it has to be a dire experience. I'll probably catch up for food and with a fellow single girlfriend. And 50z - I'm saddened. Halloween is my favourite night of the whole year. What a time to get dressed up and socialise with the neighbours. Always a hoot - who cares about the trappings and candy. Get dark and get amongst it. Always a fun party somewhere, where the fet people can slip some of their dress-ups sneakily out into pubic. Good times

Do you have to be on the website not the app in order to start a forum or ask for people's opinion on things. I want to know if I'm being greedy as a woman who wants to orgasm at least twice whilst having sex. I've been told by a friend that she doesn't know any women who orgasms every time during sex and that regular frustration is the norm for most women....is this true! Please tell me it's not.... I've only ever been dating someone over Valentine's Day once, in 2009, so I've only ever once had the need at all to buy a present etc which I did, and it was over distance at the time so I had it sent and delivered with flowers. But rather than buy something, as a couple I would probably visit/stay/eat somewhere new etc, something simple. But whether the day is significant or not would depend on the needs of your partner as well. I used to feel sentimental about it as a single, but now it's easy to not bat an eyelid, especially if it's a workday which it nearly always is. - Posted from rhpmobile

...is very contrived to me. Three years ago, V Day was the day I realised that my relationship had withered because of the lackadaisical manner my ex treated me on that day. He has such a painful, constipated look on his face that it simply ruined the day. The next V day was then spent in a liaison that was more agonising than it was worth. Blink and *Poof!*... it no longer existed. Fleeting and transient. I'm quite over the whole attempting to communicate with the opposite sex thang. It's over-rated, demands too much out of you, and it usually ends with angst, tears and emotional upheavals. It's either going to be a peaceful, sensible merger cum partnership, or I'd rather go without. This V Day, I'll probably be too busy and stressed out by work to even think much about it. I buy myself flowers whenever I feel like it, I spoil myself often with good food and I'm generous with gifts to self so hey... it's V Day for me on a regular basis, party of one! 😊😆

As far I am concerned commercialized or not if there is a special person in your life buy them flowers. Once I also sent flowers to a lovely girl I met at the gym. She was travelling on business and lived 600km away in another city. She was really appreciated receiving the flowers. Unfortunately the distance did not help. Now I have become more selective.

But me lol so I decided I didn't like it years ago ,plus flowers allways die unless there tacky fake ones the chocolate gift boxes well there just a bad idea as your already trying to loose the Xmas weight you put on and teddy bears well they collect dust and we'll it seems everybody try's to push up prises for that one day so it's a expensive day it can be!

I haven't had a real and proper Valentine's Day for all these years! And I won't be having one either this year due to an unexpected situation at home, which deserves my full devotion! Hence, I made my priority and choice, and we both mutually agreed to keep our good terms and friendship instead 😊 So, Valentine's Day means nothing to me, yet! 🙃 However, as a realistic person and crowds intolerant, I can't imagine myself would be wanting my future significant half to waste money on roses and gifts on a day that everything romantic related are twice as expensive! We never do that much on Valentine's day. It's got way to commercialized (as most of our holidays have unfortunately) for our tastes. This year we're going to see Guns N Roses at the MCG. And they say romance is dead :)

Yes, you can create a topic via using the app. Follow these steps and you'll be on the roll: 1) Go to "Forums" on the menu list on the left hand side of your phone screen. 2) Click on the "Forums" tab on the top of the page, along side with "Recent" and "Active". 3) Choose a category (Hot Topics, or Girls Ask.....etc.) and click into that category. 4) Click on the "New Topic" button located on the top right corner of your phone screen, then you'll be on your way to create your own topic. Seems like the majority eye roll which is my position on things. If you're into someone you romance in the moment - not just because it's a certain date advertised. I think for some who are stuck in a rut they use the opportunity to show appreciation to their partner. But let's face it, if you aren't showing them appreciation on a regular basis it doesn't hold much weight does it?
