"Voice Dynamics"

December 06 2014

How important is it at a "First Meet" ? Have you reacted either "positively" or "negatively" to an RHP Member, based on the fact that the "voice" did not match your preconceived notion of what it may sound like from looking at a facial photo ?

A long time ago I spoke with a man on the phone who sounded like a teenage girl. He has a very masculine job and it was a real shock. I couldn't go there at all after that. I fell in love instantly with someone else when I heard their voice on the phone.

I haven't yet had a negative reaction to hearing someone's voice upon talking to/meeting them and I definitely don't hold it as a major yay/nay criterion. So long as you don't sound like Fran from The Nanny or Janice from Friends then all is good. However there have certainly been times when my already piqued interest (otherwise I wouldn't be meeting them now would I?) has been heightened by the aural delight that has spilled forth from their lips. It's not so much the sound of the person's voice but the content being delivered that has a positive/negative impact. And of course all of the above will sound like Isaiah Mustafa's voice when you read this. I'm on a horse.CheersRusty

voice is so important, it can turn me off or turn me on with one word. can't describe it at all I just know it when I hear it.

A squeeeky mouse voice turns me off! Ewwwww. Give me a deep husky male voice any day. That's music to my ears. For me a huge turn on is when I'm whispered sweet nothings... 💗💕💗 Foxy

That you're answering you're on question.... Two key words "preconceived notions" :) - Posted from rhpmobile

Love it pics and voice. A perception sets an expectation that comes with the excitement of the unknown😏

But if there was one thing I could change it would be her squeaky voice.. as lovely as she is to look at... her voice is a total miss match.. and she knows it' poor thing.. Doesnt stop me from loving her and her family as Im very close to them and protective towards her.. Guess we cant have everything ....

I was thinking about posting a thread like this as voice is one thing that doesn't come over on the profile. It was a voice on a radio advertisement that got me thinking about it. As Missb72 said we can't describe it but know it when we hear it there are lots of accents I like and some I don't.

I was infatuated with this boy at School. He was 2 years my Senior. He was tall, handsome and whenever I looked at him, a bright "aura" seemed to shine around his head. I could never bring myself to speak to him in person. I was always to shy. Then one day, I had the "guts" to ring him and the "infatuation" was instantly lost !!! All he did was answer the phone in a very "uneducated" voice and in "broken" English. Amy

I have been put off from a voice and it is a terrible thing to say because I have heard myself echo in a phone or recorded like on an answering machine and I myself sound horrible! I hope I don't sound that bad in person. There is definitely a sexy tone from a man that gets the juices flowing for me. I have told a few telemarketers and suppliers they have sexy phone voices, lol.

"How important is it at a "First Meet"? It isn't. I would never arrange to meet someone I hadn't spoken to by phone first.Personal preference and part of m,y screening approach. DG

... The preconceived notions to be problematic. You wouldn't know it by looking at me but I had a severe brain injury almost 5 years ago and had to re-learn how to talk. Until recently i sounded like a drunk South African man and even now at random times I get questioned regarding my alcohol intake. I carry an identifying card for when I get refused entry to a pub or pulled over by the police. Other times in am told that I have a very sexy voice. Try to judge less people... - Posted from rhpmobile
