WTF!

March 05 2021

Why can’t they just make damn USB’s so they simply slide into things first time without having to turn them around the right way up? What the fuck is all THAT about? I reckon I get it wrong about 70% of the time! I was actually contemplating recording just how much time I’ve wasted trying to stick ‘em in (only to find that I had gotten them upside down), but then I realised that it would also be a waste of time, so what was the point? So I thought I’d waste just as much fucking time posting this on the forums instead. X Obi1

Phone charges are the worst too! It pisses me off too! I have to put my glasses on to see and hear putting the darn connector thing in the slit hole. I can't tell you how many fucking hours I have lost finding my glasses, just to poke a fucking hole. Ms Foxy

I got this shit down! I didn't want to be one of those memes who takes 3 goes to get it right anymore 😬 So, my charger is a little bent, which helps me tell which way is up. And the usb ends have a sticky out bit and um, a sticky in bit that I can feel with my finger to help with matching the bits tightly and securely. 😇

I have the very same issue when I try to tie up my shoe laces. Have one lace out and then realise I tucked the other shoe lace into my shoe when I put it on. Then when I finally get the other lace have to find my glasses to tie up the laces cause I can’t see what I’m doing.

Hmmm.. so just to make sure I’ve got this correct: Foxy can’t slip in it without her glasses Peachy uses her fingers to feel around and guide it. Sawdee only gets it in correctly first time around about 50% of the time. And I’m always inadvertently trying to stick it in upside down. What the heck ARE we doing people! 😊.

Move up to USB C! The next generation is way more flexible, bi directional and it doesn’t matter which way you stick it in 😉

Don’t you just hate it when the bits don’t bend in the right direction? Or you try to peg the wrong hole and the adapter just doesn’t fit? Or the holes are too close together and there isn’t enough room for all of the plugs. Multi plug adapters give me the shits!

Obi Just leave the piss alone. You success rate will go to 55%. I've heard the screams when your in action at private parties. Put lube on, it won't matter if you get it the wrong hole around.

Obi, you could always put a marker dot on the tip for the right way up. But if you are in the dark, may I suggest a raised point using a nice touch of Raised dots. Kinda like Braille. You know, you could gently feel by stoking using your thumb and fore fingers. I can’t quite put my fingers on solving your issue. I'm trying. Ms Foxy

I believe that I have solved the problem people, so thank you for all the umm... advice. 😊 I have bought a new phone and a heap of new charger cords (the proper iPhone ones - not the generic ones that somehow my phone mysteriously decides one day not to be able to accept... mmmmm?), and I have left them plugged into every device in the treehouse. They all have the old USB connector bits on one end and the new bi-directional ends on the other. That way I now don’t have to fuck about with the stupid USB ends, I just wander about with my phone and I can easily plug it in wherever I feel like. Prob solved! (Though I can’t help the feeling that Foxy’s suggestion to just put a texture-mark on the right way up may have been a way lot simpler).
