We have met people that we didnt think were our type but have become great friends and fun friends. We like people and dont go for a particular type. We have met some stunning people that had no personality and relied totally on their looks so personality is foremost for us.

it’s more about a vibe and a feel more than looks of course looks play a big part but in that we are wide and varied , and what starts off in a not sure list can end up on our best of friends list ,the common denominator to what attracts us likes moths that a flame is some people just make us feel at ease , laugh play and enjoy ourselves, making it all just happen seemlessly ,no effort no watching what you say or second guessing things, and not hard work but in answering your question directly. if i had to put something down ,a face with an inviting easy going natural smile always sucks me in ,not sure about mrs b i’m gunna guessing eyes ,but will pop back later with hers mr b - Posted from rhpmobile

I agree with others in that I really don't have a type so various things might catch my eye. But the two features that I find most physically attractive and will make me always look twice are strong shoulders and deep brown eyes. Mrs A x - Posted from rhpmobile

I guess there is a look I prefer but over the years I've been attracted to wide range of women, with different personalities, beliefs and looks.I guess I don't really have a type as such. It's been said that the personality is the main catch but beyond that I think there's an undefinable and intangible spark that attracts two people together.

As the OP said, for when really being able to look only as opposed to interact with: There is such a thing as too immodest, for my type. I don't really go for the short skirt, high heeled bimbo or "look at me" type you might see half drunk on a Friday or Saturday night out on the street. Despite them maybe having a model body. Yes of course, an attractive body is lovely, but they still have to look like they take care of themselves, not just physically either. The other type is the more modest, "wonderfully cute but doesn't realise it" type. Glasses help, and may give the educated/worldly look, so the cute perhaps seemingly a little shy librarian does it for me as well. Yes, sometimes you can read or infer, correctly or not, a personality into a physical appearance. That can come across in clothing, and personality can be seen depending on the context on when you see them: if they are casually walking a dog, or involved in some other task they enjoy, or if you see them talking to another. I look for facial features too, believe it or not for a man. The bimbo blonde might not be attractive to me face wise, and I have also been wonderfully attracted to the look of a BBW with wonderful eyes, smiles and a happy disposition. Real normal curves can still be made very sexy, just go to any burlesque show :)

Which catches my eye. I'm totally with Shells; its is the vibe (or aura if you like) I get from their physicsl presence as opposed to swooning at a ripped bod or some other physical stereotype. But a cheeky smile, great eyes (don't care what colour), and a perceived intent on grasping life and being curious about it will always attract me.

A supermodel, but have the personality of a box of hammers. And that, is the biggest turn off. One thing I have learned over the years is don't be so godamn shallow. Some of the best people I've known haven't been society's standard of "beautiful." I'm one of them! But to the point, what gets my attention... a great bum...and curves, boobs, hips. Stuff to grab! And eyes...and a winning smile. I'd rather save the rack of ribs for my dinner plate! BUT in saying that too...I have met some sexy AF slender women, and guys...people. So... it just depends. But it is when they open their mouth that could make or break! And I pretty much agree with most of what CountryTouch82 said! TomboyDeluxxe - Posted from rhpmobile

I entirely agree with that OP, that personality has nothing to do with it. Personality is certainly shown in what people wear, how they stand/site, the look on their face, the way they loom at others. Our minds pick up all of that information as well as their body shape and presentation, so personailty certainly does shape some of our first impressions. Would it fair to say you are wanting us to just comment on physical appearance? Some of us will struggle with that as we look far beyond that.

Being a very visual person, looks are important to me, however as other say, looks are nothing without personality. If I'm watching my partner with someone, I enjoy seeing taught, smooth skin and not too many flaccid, wobbly bits.Size doesn't really matter, so long as there is tone. This makes the touch so much better too. We both keep fit, so that's what attracts us the most. Aside from that, their eyes and smile need to be wicked and friendly. A positive, fun, easy-going personality is what seals the deal. I do love hair on a man, thick head of hair, beard, hairy chest and not fully waxed...yuk, I want him to look like a man, not a boy. With women, I'm a sucker for a pretty face :)...has that got me into trouble? Yes!

You just made my night... I always have in my head that red heads are the less preferred hair colour choice.... thank you for seeing beauty in us red heads... For me I’ve learnt to not judge someone based on their looks. Yes, there has to be a certain physical appeal for sure but I go off a feeling with people. It’s odd I know but I’ve learnt it works for me - if I feel it I’m in it up to my eye balls - if I don’t then I hold back... If I had to say something though, my height or taller for men wins every time, eyes I tend to notice as well.. - Posted from rhpmobile

Quoting 'countrytouch82'Yes of course, an attractive body is lovely, but they still have to look like they take care of themselves, not just physically either. Assuming you mean mental health, it's not something that fits in a nutshell though, haha 'scuse the pun. People have baggage and I have to admit my favourites are those who know that about themselves and others. It makes a much more congenial atmosphere to be around rather than the people who think they know how people with mental health should be. In a nutshell... Peachy

Taking care of themselves: yes it means looking after all aspects of their health. Not that we don't all need help sometimes, but I certainly don't go along with the Live Fast Die Young policy... Xanthea: the crucial word was bimbo. Most definitions refer to a somewhat lack of intelligence. So while you might have been dressed similarly, the bimbo certainly does not describe you in the slightest :) - Posted from rhpmobile

I probably had a type........Now i'm more of a people watcher. Maybe because i hate the feeling of thinking of ways to leave a conversation, and once walking away having the thought of "shit, you really are as dumb as bread" So what grabs my attention, what turns my head, is someone with confidence, someone that when your'e sitting in a forecourt of a pub, at a bar, in a room, wherever, shit it could be a workplace environment.......And a person walks in and you just cant help but take notice. Not because "They are a type", but because they just have something about themselves. comfortable, confident, don't give a fuck, who knows.

Sounds shallow but it’s not. We have met smoking hot couples who you would get more enjoyment out of talking to trees, and met couples we are not sexually attracted to have been so much fun to talk to but our personal choice is to meet for hot fun as opposed to seeking new friends. For us, sexual attraction is vital, we are not models and not looking for them but the chemistry must be there physically and equally important is their ability to maintain a decent conversation. What turns us on is when BOTH are really into having fun and getting dirty in the bedroom (or wherever) and a big turn off is when clearly only one (usually the male but not always) has convinced their partner to come along when it’s obvious they are not into it. That really sucks. - Posted from rhpmobile

There is a huge difference between who turns your head walking down the street to who you want to be with. I have a friend who looks like my perfect type except she hates sex and sexuality. She is tall, athletic and has long hair but does absolutely nothing for me on that level. I think I am the only woman on this forum not attracted to shaved heads and beards, although one of the sexiest couples we met on here, the husband had a shaved head and a beard. Such a sexy couple. Personality, intelligence, wit, cheekiness and sexuality trump looks. The truly lucky ones find it all :)

I get what the OP means. Being a Libran, one of my favourite guilty pleasures is indulging in eye candy. And boy does that never fail to release the endorphins! When I'm in that mode I don't really care about the personality or want to find out about it. I'm just content with feasting with my eyes. Unless of course he's in the act or abusing someone or something like that, then it's different... 🙄 It's really difficult to pin point exactly what it is that really turns my head... But generally speaking I think my 'type' is the 'good boy but cheeky look' with a good fit physique. It really stirs me up and I can't stop looking! Coincidentally Mr T has that look!! 😄 - Posted from rhpmobile

One of the joys of experience is learning how accurate or inaccurate your first impressions are in terms of the person behind the bod, the smiles, the outfit and even the talk. Its deeply gratifying to get it right and inversely disastrous when you fuck up. The world does occasionally contain ken and barbie doll look alikes who have the souls of poets, people who are more or less what they appear to be and people whose appearance, demeanour and the thousand subtle things that are a first impression promise much and deliver little. Confidence sans arrogance is always appealing..chuck in a dash of naughty and ....well....

Interesting topic. A friend of ours and I were discussing similar many years ago, while at a shopping mall, people watching. We came to the conclusion that we turned our heads when we saw women with attributes that were, at least in part, components of the girls, later women, we had liked as we grew up. For instance, about the third girl I ever liked, I was ten, had freckles, I've mentioned this before in 2016, in fact, she had a lot of freckles. Ever since, a woman with freckles will always turn my head. The first few girls I liked all had long hair, so that's another factor, in an overall picture, remember, a lot can be quickly taken in, in a glance. With only two exceptions, one when nine, the other when eighteen, (both eastern European), I'd say the look of typical people of northern European ancestry/heritage. So, The Low Countries, Scandinavia, The U.K., that kind of thing, Danes, every time. Hair colour could be blonde, but also might be brown or darker. Certainly when we had the original profile we looked at photos second, preferring to read a profile first. So neither of us are necessarily too caught up on looks anyway. .. I agree with ct., and Ms Jonesey though, the way someone dresses and carries themselves can be a part of that initial picture and wish to double take. I am not a fan of make-up, in fact, Mrs. urn., who isn't a fan of it herself, never wares any. Even when we go out. So there are things that I wouldn't look a second time at, heavy make-up would be one. Like a couple of other chaps have mentioned, I too like an understated look. Someone who knows How to wear clothes, trust me, most have no idea. Whites, subdued pastels, tight jeans, nice shoes, a confident upright walk, but not over confident. An air of self assuredness. Not trying to prove anything to anyone. I pick up a lot of detail quickly, I've had jobs and interests where that's important, so my tastes, what draws me to look a second time, look more closely, are multi-faceted. .. Mrs. urn. and I liked the look of eachother from the very first moment we saw eachother, thirty years ago, bloody he'll that's a long time. The visual aspects that drew our attention included me helping someone, when no one else would and me noticing that she was the one person that saw what I was doing. And had a kind look in her eye. So that first look can convey a great deal. .. At fifty, Mrs. urn. is forty-nine, we have come to know what we like, and equally, what doesn't provide an attraction. There is nothing necessarily wrong with those people for whom we have no attraction, many might go on to be great friends, for instance, however, we just don't find them aesthetically to our liking, regarding some kind of attraction. The only reason I can give, is the one I mentioned earlier. .. Mrs. urn. has slightly broader tastes, men say thirties to sixty, heritage from anywhere in Europe, size of body doesn't matter so much, good bum, and a package in front, she says. Women, usually slim, but not always, usually taller than her, good bum, both men and women have to appear kind. .. Neither of us are boob people. I'm also a sucker for nice eyes, kind eyes, and have never, ever been attracted to women older than me by more than say a year and a half. Don't know why, just been that way all my life. That's why I didn't like any porn as a teenager, they appeared too old. When I was nineteen, twenty, that's when I could appreciate some of that. As I also mentioned back in 2016. And for those that think they look younger, you don't. There is always something that gives you away, neck, hands, your voice, skin tone (as in colour). Men for instance should Never dye their hair with a single colour when past about fifty-five, vary the colour, as most women do. Us, we don't dye our hair, and have no intention of doing so. And when are rhp going to offer a "greying" option in the hair colour choices? Thanks for those that made it to the end. And like I said, interesting topic, good thread idea. Mr. & Mrs. urn. .

I disagree. Meat markets are simple compared to this. I am an athletic blonde who had no problems navigating meat markets. This is trickier. Who is real? Why do people disappear once they get access to your pg? Totally off topic to what turns your head, but you do have height as your advantage. Workout a little and women or whoever you are seeking will fall all over you. Good luck.

Being physically attractive helps alot and Im attracted to varied types, but also being able to hold a decent conversation (even if via txt message), looking after themselves (masculine & fit) but not a gym junkie, gorgeous eyes or smile help too. Dick pics really dont do anything for me. I think at the end of the day though if Im not physically attracted to someone I probably cant go much further than a chat, drink, or meal together. Im too old for playing games and wasting anyones time if Im not attracted to them. I really need some kind of physical spark / chemistry. Ive been used by guys in the past that I believe may not have had the same thoughts or feelings back that did hurt. Im no supermodel, but always honest & respectful, not to mention fun to be with. Natural redheads... with green eyes :) while we both enjoy women of many different shapes and sizes, I have always had a thing for redheads. Never had a long term relationship with one, but they are guaranteed to make me look twice :) - Posted from rhpmobile

From my point of view ( female) I do have a type that I find incredibly attractive to look at... MMA type body, with a handsome face, preferably clean shaven ...definitely no beards... lol Especially if they wear a nice shirt with a few of the top buttons undone...mmm But wanting to actually play with someone has more to do with energy...charm and intelligence... I wouldn’t say I am sapiosexual , there has to be a physical attraction too...but I would ditch a six pack for a beautiful mind any day☝️

I watch a man's presence in a room, his confidence, body language. I watch how he interacts with other people, especially women. How does he talk? does he lean in? give people his attention? Is he polite with service staff. Does he claim his space with confidence but not arrogance. And in a swingers club, is he caring and respectful of his female partner? Looks can vary but these personality traits/behaviours are very attractive to me. Mrs Deep_Love

They all say looks are not everything, I totally agree! But I do have a type, I always have a weak spot for very tall man over 6’2 with long wild hair, beautiful smile and healthy looking tan, fit body does it too! That is at first glance! Often big muscle no brain 🧠 can really ruin it all! So end of day, confidence, knowledge, intelligence, witty and distinctively unique personality wins all the way! - Posted from rhpmobile

My tastes are pretty wide ranging, and like others have said it’s that attitude and personality that really draws you in. But if I’m just passing someone in the street, what turns my head is a an althetic blonde with large breasts. Can’t help it, my GF’s in my younger years were of that description and it’s pretty much hard wired in me now haha. In saying that my longest partner is completely the opposite, a very vivacious brunette, short and curvy woman with lots ot T&A, and a very ‘girl next door’ demure personality. - Posted from rhpmobile

Definitely Presence 4me A man or woman with presence, the one’s that men and woman stop to look when they walk into a room. People who are strong, smart but soft and gentle in nature - Posted from rhpmobile

Looks alone: considering my roots (pun not intended), certainly anyone in denim/jeans. And by that I mean clean or nicely fitted, with perhaps some skin showing above the waist or with easy / summer clothing above in general. Not as much a fan of seeing the jeans that now come pre torn, pre faded, pre scuffed, and pre dirtied, as a fashion thing, as my torn, faded, scuffed, and dirty jeans from work are probably still not acceptable :) - Posted from rhpmobile

I rowed all through high school and well into my 30s as well as served in the Army for most of my adult life. I tend to lean towards fitter men since that's kiiiiiiiind of what I've been surrounded by my entire life. Until recently that kind of also included a lot of assholes. It doesn't stop me from oggling though, and they're fun to play with short-term. No offence to the NICE fit guys... I know you're out there but you're few and far between 😁 I'm surprised to find I prefer emotional connection with women over physical attraction. It's about "besties who fuck each other then go get cake and sew with a skin full of good wine and music blasting" instead. This has been a fun subject meant in a light hearted manner. I love some of the comments about different tastes, and the sheer variety of responses from confidence to redheads to intellect; some people are visual, some prefer intelligence or emotional connection, for others, "it's the vibe". A real shame some took offence. - Posted from rhpmobile
