I work as a system admin which is why I spend so much time at RHP ;) I use windows 7 with ie 9 without any problems but I'm on 32-bit. I've used Google Chrome without any problems at this site, which is another alternative. HOWEVER I have read a few articles on the internet (the source of all knowledge) that suggest your issuet might be a hijackware infection. This means malware not necessarily a virus. Update your malware software if you've got any and your antivirus, you probablly already have. I use Adaware and spy-bot (both freee) but there are heaps out there paid or otherwise. Some anti-virus include malware scanners etc. Delete ALL you offline content and scan away. Then again, it migh not be anything other than the usual Microsoft six million patches before it kinda works OK... hope it helps :)

I have been using IE 9 on Windows 7 x64 - and have no problems. However for RHP I use the 32 bit version of the browser - it's the blue "e" that only has Internet Explorer written after it - not the one with Internet Explorer (64-bit)

My offline data is deleted every time I close my browser. I think the issue it the 64 bits. But today is a malware check anyways it seems. I haven't in ages...

I tried it ages ago back when it was annoying. Maybe it's worth a second go. p.s. Love your new profile pic :-)

Hey there...feel free to shoot me a note and I can answer in more detail but most likely the issue is the new IE 9 and not necessarily the malware but that said the Kaspersky is fine as a broad spectrum anti-biotic but should be cross checked with SpyBot S&D. The one and only that I use and recommend is Avast! and it's free. Won't go into all the cross checks and comparison....it would make me sound dull as rubber ball, but did the homework. | The new IE 9 platform struggles with a couple of mine and everyone else's websites....and reading through the techno-geek news they have had the balls to tell webmasters to "code for the change". Yeah right...as if I can be bothered fixing 5 websites, one SimpleMachines forum and a blog running the daily news according the team. | Good news short form....you can download the "old" IE and and it will install back over the new IE 9 POS bowser browser. I won't be intalling it until they fix it....and I like running Maxthon anyway because of the little ummmmmm free tools that come with it. Nice nice very nice...creatures of the same device. \ Once last thought then I have exceeded my nice guy quota and certainly and random thought quotas for the month....grab one of FREE registry cleaners and let it go through and do it's thing. Note the word FREE. They sell more of these than you can shake your ribbon at and you get nothing more or less than the FREE vesions. | Now can we talk about the good stuff?

if its a rendering issue, you can also flag certain sites as being better rendered in IE7 mode, and the browser will behave as if its the older version (on the server side you can also send it as a header)I'm not on x64 but have no issues using Firefox 5 with RHP

Agree with that one... | Quoting 'sydneyboy3au'if its a rendering issue, you can also flag certain sites as being better rendered in IE7 mode, and the browser will behave as if its the older version (on the server side you can also send it as a header)I'm not on x64 but have no issues using Firefox 5 with RHP Firefox does seem to be on the front foot right now... and I also run a couple of others like Maxthon, Opera and Safari. In IE9 you can run that with the "compatability mode" to run similarly to IE8 ....but right after I installed the 9, was doing some cross check stuff on compatibility and it was messing up some java scripts and mouseover changes. Pissed me off then read about "coding" the websites above the header entries so IE9 would read them in the proper way. It is a very clean interface and I liked it...but think they will and can do a better job. | Arrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhh now all I have to do is make everything smart phone compatible? | Just shoot me.

Firefox 5 and Windows 7 64 and Kaspersky do not a good team makeSo far Chrome is working beautifully. Now I need to get all my bookmarks and passwords across. Lucky I have tomorrow for some work avoidance. I can maybe fit in some spyware checking..Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'm all good now

I just installed and did the cross platform checks on the new Maxthon 3 browser (no, I am not affiliated) and it functions perfectly in a 64 bit environment (yes, I have more than one computer) however is only available at this time to Windows advocates.|Advantages are numerous...particularly the "developers tools" that are included in the interface such as the snap and resources tools. They also have a support forum easily accessible if you have a question and answer almost immediately.|If you are a "blogger"...this is a gem. I have installed the inter-browser tools that allow me to access "a few" of my own websites and the forum I run on SimpleMachines. It's not about sex...some things are more important.|If you have installed IE9...delete it, it's crap. This one also smokes even Chromium in speed tests and has a reading mode that lets you read an article without all the PITA ads on the sites. Bottom line...best of breed.|...and it's free.
