Winners and Loosers

March 20 2014

I'm getting my will done tomorrow...thank goodness another thing off my list. I have a girlfriend whose mother changes her will often had written one child out because she says that she has enough money and so doesnt need hers...I have always said things change. That person may loose everything and the another may win the lottery. My step father was not included in his parents amusing will because they were concerned that my other would get some of their assests....only thing is he died and the will is claused so his sister can remain in the family home even though she owns millions of dollars worth of property and only after she dies or leaves can the remaining children get their inheritance. My mind is very undecided at this point as previously I would have bequeathed my entire estate to my children now that is not my intention. So do you have any stories like these where people are been screwed or benefittede in wonderful surprising ways.

My mother in her will allowed my sister to live in the family home until she either pops her clogs,or remarries....then it is sold and divided by five.....but it is just "stuff" cest, not worth causing problems in the family.... Just make your will and don't make a big deal about it with your kids......xx Q ...

Quoting 'Bigocean72' Greedy people are still greedy when they are dead . - Posted from rhpmobile Interesting answer.... My mother always said my ex would have himself buried with his car as he was so selfish, thing is he has 5 and 3 are classics. He told me after we split he would rather leave them to me instead of our kids ....imagine this coming from a man who never gave you anything and still was hiding things so you would get nothing. I tried to teach my son that your cant wait for someone to die so you can be better off......life doesnt work that way. You have to make what you can out of your own life, but his fathers mother has always tried to manipulate as well.

Anyone can contest it once you are gone... Just do it quietly with your best judgement, what will be will be. I find the devil is in the details, I've got f all to bequeath, but there are specific items I want certain people to have. It's the sentimentality that's important, leave the house to the fucking cat rescue shelter.

Story by Graeme connors There's a painting of my grandfather, on my mothers side In the hallway of our homestead, in a special place of pride With his bulldogs and kanakas, back in eighteen ninety three In a linen suit and a panama, they say he looked like me. And the story goes he came out, to make a brand new start In an effort to forget, a sad affair of the heart and with these romantic notions, to the colonies he came Where he settled in the tropics and made his fortune growing cane. There's a photo of my parents, taken in between the wars In London, Rome or Paris, I don't know for sure But it hangs there in the hallway and there's one for every year Fortunes made, and fortunes paid, for champagne souvenirs. And they say they're gonna take this all away from me The cars the cane the homestead, all my family history Well tomorrow when the bankers come to settle all their claims Let the auctioneer open... with a price for charred remains! Well let the cane fields burn, let the flames rise Let the politicians and the bankers in the city look up In wonder at the glow at in the sky. Let the cane field burn, let me feel no pain When I drown my soul in whisky, and dance in the flames. Mado Tara xx

I've just run the idea past the Mr, that we might give one of our children more than the other in our will. We laughed at the idea of the reaction of one of our kids to get less than the other. Sibling rivalry lol. Their situations are quite different, but at this point, we agree that we would go 50/50. It's a shame I'll never get to see them try to split the family home. . It's funny actually, the child who would scream the loudest if they got less was asking us how we would distribute money if we won lotto the other day. Make me laugh, the one with our grandchild and partner reckoned they should get more because there is more of them LOL! So, according to that sibling, if we were to give $50,000 (depending on how much we won) per person, they would get $150,000 while the other sibling would only ge $50,000. . Now we just have to hope we never win lotto! ROFL!

you have to be fair. Each child has his destiny in his hands, that's how I see my sons. How they live is there's to decide and mine to be fair, when I die both get half, what ever I leave behind, it doesn't matter one would be richer or poorer. For me both are equal.Families get mean often very mean and nasty and I don't want this ever to happen to my family. My mum is still a life and what ever she decide will be the right decision and should this mean I am getting less then my siblings then I accept....because by right she could just give everything to a cat home.:) and even then I would have to accept because it isn't my money its hers.

If my parents die, it wouldn't worry me much whether they left me something in their will or not, it's their fortune and theirs to leave to whomever they choose To answer you OP, my nana passed and she left everything to me but my mom and her siblings sold all nana's properties and shared the money and u never got anything. Was I annoyed? No. Did I want the money? Not really. When I pass I'm not too fussed about who gets what of my belongings, I'd hate people to contest my will or fight after I'm dead, what gives them the right to think they should? - Posted from rhpmobile

she had dementia and was being looked after queensland age care. she old us that the money would go to us , yada yada yada this is a woman that dumped us all in an orphanage, five kids to different partners and guess what all of a sudden a next door neighbour who had moved away but happened to come by the nursing home was the executor and the sole beneficiary of my mothers will. Not only that they. as in husband and wife tried to get the funeral done without any of us knowing. they said oh sorry we will give the estate to you children, I am still waiting for them to reply to my letters or answer the phone they are more than likely off on a cruise, taking it allsome people are very low and I cant be bothered getting lawyers involved. it would just cost me money.I just put a curse on them and let the universe take care of it all. I will divide my stuff between my girls but when people get old they can get mean spirited and pit one kid against another but in the end its their money so they can do as they please.
