I'd quit my job! Buy a house or two, and then spend my time travelling the world with my sexy man.... If only it was me that won the $50 million Powerball the other night!

I'd go straight out and buy one of those 'bat suits', you know, with the webbing between the arms and legs like a sugar glider. then, after that...well, there probably wouldn't be any 'after that'.

I would take a few years and travel everywhere! Then I'd go back to university and study 'impractical' things like history, literature, political science. I say 'impractical' because it would be just for the joy of learning and not with the intent of getting a job. And in between the travel & study, I'd help Shells with her philanthropy... love her ideas :)

Well. Firstly to travel the world. Secondly to buy a property near the beach and have a refuge for cats & dogs. Thirdly to open a soup kitchen and help the homeless But my list is endless x - Posted from rhpmobile

I would live right next to my favourite climbing area in Vic and wouldn't be too far shells so happy to help you as well xox and chip in for the private jet to the city. Would certainly be in the career of helping people instead of being on a job just for the money. So many possibilities for funding scientific research that would value humanity but would normally never get a gurnsey cause there is normally no money in it. With money not being a problem would be assisting in th a whole bunch of jobs that don't normally pay well like nurses etc. Yeah would probably also buy some land next to Joe Hockey just so I could put up a wind farm. - Posted from rhpmobile

i would have a place for domestic violence survivors and their families to come to rebuild their lives. As money is no object they wouldn't have to pay a cent and all services would be free for them. I would take my kids around the world and hopefully find a Scotsman on my travels

Firstly I would set up a foundation..with a board of trustees so the work could continue after I am dust 😊I would buy an island ...it would be a health and healing retreat centre for anyone who needed physical or emotional healing...I would establish schools for kids who learn differently, where they aren't made t o feel stupid, creative dynamic, empathic environments...I would fund anti slavery organisations..particularly ones that support children,... I would continue to live where I live, just have a massive renovation ..and travel a little ..xxFreya

Was inspired from a video I was sent today discussing philosopher Alan Watt's thoughts on "what if money was no object" How many of us choose our vocation based on money, earning power and getting ahead and how many people choose to do something because of a genuine interest, passion or love. What would you choose to do if money was not a consideration?

...as I've been a giver most of my life and had life enjoyment sucked out of me by past partners. Sooo...I'd buy myself a new 4wd, a caravan, and a motorbike (always wanted a motorbike), an organic property where I could have my animals, organise a friend/relative to care of it, and them, take the dog and go around Australia seeing and staying at all the places I've been interested in and visiting friends I have along the way. Might take me about 3 years at the least. Oh....set up my kids with houses, furniture and cars and treat them each to the holidays I never had the money for when they were growing up. Then I'd set up hostels and counselling/training for all the women around my age who are suddenly not in a long term relationship, have no job, no references and no finances and the government won't even help them with accommodation but expect them to find somewhere to live and employment on Newstart benefits. Been there, done that and it's a bitch.

I have are targeted at the same outcome, though through different means. First would be having more people involved in sports and other (non-sexual) activities. We all know the benefits of exercise, though having trained staff and accessible services to ensure everyone has the right to live an active lifestyle no matter their circumstances. Second would be to use my skills and the money to improve the health technology area. For example, there is more technology in your FitBit than their is in a labour ward or insulin tester. We should be able to have real-time status of either a women in labour or a diabetic's insulin level. Of course the list of illnesses needing more technology is endless and hence would need copious $$ support. SB - Posted from rhpmobile

Because I love it. But I would buy investment properties that can be used by families that need help. Lower, affordable rent with a trust fund attatched for their children to attend school and uni. I'd make sure my family and friends were set for life. I know they all enjoy there jobs so making them mortgage fee would be enough for the......I had this discussion once with them all after a few drinks. We all decided we were quite happy in life, but mortgage free would be a help. And I'd like a large property so my son can have a quad and I can relax with horses and dogs. And chooks. And I'd buy a couple of snakes. That's my selfish part.

If we're talking vocation and having a job purely based on passion, love and interest without consideration of income, I'd go back and become a wildlife photographer specialising in birds :) But it's never too late, and photography is my long-term post-retirement plan. I'm starting to build up my stock library, and plan to register my business later this year. I have an idea for a coffee table book (funnily enough, not involving birds) that I've started working on already, and hope to transition into this being a full-time career within the next 15 years.

Quoting 'JerseyGirl' I'd quit my job! Buy a house or two, and then spend my time travelling the world with my sexy man.... If only it was me that won the $50 million Powerball the other night! I'd do exactly the same and it would be party party party and I'd start enjoying life again because, without having to work, I'd actually feel as if I HAD a life ! I was never a career person to begin with and never thought I'd be in a position where there is no light at the end of that tunnel called working full time including constant unpaid overtime.Changed jobs a little while back but it didn't make a difference to my life or the way I feel about working so I will just have to keep an eye out for that elusive position that I'm passionate about, lmao, and will make life seem as if there is such a thing as work life balance - haha that's a load of rubbish that employers try to make you believe.Sorry folks, ranting a bit there.Look out the window the sun is shining. Mind you there's many other things I would do with unlimited funds as I would certainly give a lot to various charities including RSPCA as it would make me SO happy to be able to do that.

Quoting 'Meeka100' Was inspired from a video I was sent today discussing philosopher Alan Watt's thoughts on "what if money was no object" How many of us choose our vocation based on money, earning power and getting ahead and how many people choose to do something because of a genuine interest, passion or love. What would you choose to do if money was not a consideration? Having just won the $50 mill lotto, yes folks, I ended up with a nett loss of $3.00 Anyway I did fantasize about what I would've done with $50 mill. My old town Christchurch is still in a mess after the 2010 & 2011 earthquakes. There are some beautiful old mansions there from the early days I know of two that are amazing buildings with fantastic architecture, one in particular is about 10,000 square metres of floor space on three stories. I know this house and would have loved to buy it and renovate it, obviously it would never be the same as it once was but it could kept authentic and adapted to the 21st Century. Last year it was my privilege to attend an opening party of a similar building in CH-CH which had survived the quakes relatively intact and after $2.5 mill was back in pristine condition. So that would be just part of the projects I would embark on, obviously there would need to be sufficient seed capital to get the ball rolling, then the paying public would need to be the key to the long term viability. This would create employment in the rebuild and ongoing jobs in the running and maintenance. Income generated from such projects could be allocated from a budget dollar share. My current beneficiary, Canteen, would do very well as would others...It's nice to dream sometimes

I traveled for a year in my 20's, never staying more than 3 nights in any one place. And you know what, it's tiring and you get jaded after awhile. Pfft wake up to see the sun rise in the Sahrah desert, puck that I am sleeping in. Been there done that. (:P) As much as it pains me to say this... You do need more than travel. My first European trip was when I was 6 mths old on my Mother's passport and I have never really stopped traveling. If that is what you want to do.... Why don't you do it?

it's that easy for some people Meeka. I spent from my 20's in a shitty controlling relationship with a man that wouldn't work and disappeared for days on end... By 30 I had two kids and a near death experience... Prompted me to get out of my relationship which took two years and then another 5 to try to rebuild financially. As a single parent raising two kids the money did not stretch to any extras like travel, I was more concerned with putting food on the table each day and some days I didn't know how that was going to be possible. and if money was no object I would be going five star all the way and not just playing tourist for a few days I would be immersing myself in each culture and spending a month or more in places I enjoyed.

i was headed to my sisters and saw a sign for one of the lotto draws and thought to myself - how lovely it would be to win so I could keep studying full time but concentrate soully on that and volunteering and not need to work so that when I was finished my degree I could be the best positioned for my new profession. Was an uplifting revelation for me 😀 hmmm nearly as good as actually winning 😆 - Posted from rhpmobile

What are our real passions if work is not required? Probably the same as we would do if we considered volunteer work now, or similar such work in our retirement. Generally speaking it will be about assisting others (community work etc), as our own interests are fully supported. My passions would be for nature and the environment. It is typically our fault for the problems in the environment, therefor it is up to us to rectify them. As for travel, in my opinion the wonders of the natural planet have no rival with our manmade structures and societies. I've been overseas once, to Nepal; New Zealand and Antarctica are probably next on the list.

Cuck n shells. I think you will find most people need a purpose, or some sort of passion, hobby. I bet after one year of traveling like that you will be bored of it. Quoting 'CucknShells' I would become a philanthropist. I live in the country and the services here are all so far away. I would build a rehab centre, services for people to get treated for cancer, a place for homeless people and a care service for young people so they wouldn't have to go into nursing homes. Just to start. Also I wouldn't mind a home by the water. That would be nice. And a private jet so I could go to the big smoke when I felt like it. Shells. I'd use a lot of the money ethically.....I like your ideas Shells, but I would also support the not-for-profits I currently work for that don't get any funding - so they could hire whoever they need to run their programs - because of course I wouldn't be working anymore. I'd also make sure that the kids, and grandkids know they are set up for life, not just hand it to them though, they would have to work toward goals / do some long term volunteering etc before they get to experience an easy life. I would hate to look back and think that $$$$ has turned them into spoiled brats who don't see the world through the eyes of the most needy. Oh, but first and foremost I would build a new house with a huge library.....ah heaven!! Shaz

with money id transform an island into a private country that has everything a person could need in life and call it utopiawesome , it would accommodate all kinds of people from relaxing people to party animals.... if you were naughty you would be spanked without money my belief on what our lives are for is to pass down our knowledge and experience to the best of out ability to our children to help them become better people than we are so i suppose id do that if i have no money ad my penis is broken well then im pretty fked

Whatever happened to if there's a will there's a way and why let what you can't do interfere with what you can do? There are websites set up by people with money to give, specifically, to help people restricted by lack of funds to realise their dreams. I don't know the ins and outs of it all, but I believe it's just a matter of signing up, posting your dream with some sort of viable business plan.

I think I've traveled to much. Half the world lives in abject poverty, whilst dreaming about the creature comforts we take for granted as our rightful entitlement. In some ways, I already feel that I have that life, of money being no object. I have everything I need. I can pay my outgoings and actually want for nothing in comparison to the majority of the world. All the other things I'd like are just that. Wants, that I don't need to get through life. Endless material possessions just don't do it for me. If you gave me endless possessions and 'things' I'd ditch them in a heart beat. I'd rather have my friends and family any day of the week. However, if I were to fall into an extraordinarily large pool of money? What would I do? I'd take leave without pay for a year or so and finish my uni degree. I'd actually go back to the work I'm doing. I enjoy it and I know that in my own small way I'm making a difference to someones life. (I just don't necessarily always know whose life it will be that I make a difference to.) What I would do though is perhaps travel a little more and consider overseas volunteer work. My mother has always been fond of saying, "Be careful, what you wish for."

As a kid I used to wander off to the mountains by myself chasing after eagles nests and watching them. One day found what ended up being an old castle walls in very bad ruins. Dug around a little while and found lots of tips of arrows. Spoke to few elders at the time about the castle and no one knew anything about it. Magical location and spectacular views from there. Since then had some interesting dreams about it. After 30 years being away, two years ago I visited for a month. All the childhood memories and inspirations came back with no effort. My though was, how awesome it would be to rebuild the castle walls and dig deeper through history. To make part of the lost history visible. Also keep on inventing and developing many of the ideas that will engage societies on many levels for the better of mankind.
