Tara had hypnotherapy to give up smoking Me, I had hypnotherapy in part with phycologist, various types of councillors, all ordered by a hi court judge and to ensure trauma was not something I would carry through my life ahead of me or any thereof. The hypnotist did something, I don't know what exactly, but I recognise trauma hidden away in some people, see pictures even, also she taught me to self hypnotise myself, the way I think of it, it's a deep state of relaxation, deeper than normal sleep, on the way down things around, sounds, thoughts, everything just fades away, fully aware never the less and into conscience, it's quite amazing what is floating about in the depths of our mind, it makes finding things easier so to speak, answers, meanings, questions, 15 min is like a nights sleep, can train how to think or remember things, important things without further thought put to it. I trained myself to remember Tara the woman I fell in love with would be the centre of my life, there is a lot involved in doing so and became principals to live by, it is a love story and the only important thing I have ever had reason to jog my memories true and fair. Believe it or not, it's what you make of it, what you want from it I suppose. Mado Mado Tara xx

thanks for your feedback and glad it worked for you. will keep an open mind and see what i figure out to tackle with it. there are some issues id rather either be gone from my mind, or deal with without certain feelings, and well, its free with the vouchers, so no loss. time for some pondering in the bedroom about it :)

I had hypnotherapy about nine years ago.It was part of regular visits to a psychologist. It didnt really work for two reasons, she was not very good at it,and I was not a good subject. It's an odd prize to have won and think about why you would need to have it done. Is there an issue like smoking or weight loss that you want to focus on? And how well credentialed is the hypnotherapist ? Good luck and let us know how it all turns out Q

My ex wife insisted on me to go to a shrink to get treatment for my cross dressing habit to save the marriage. I complied and had 10 free clinical hypnosis sessions courtesy of medicare. I am a standing testimonial of its success.

Yes, I tried it for losing weight, I didn't really believe in it...... However..... It worked for about 12 months where I made better food choices but then seemed to wear off, he said may need to top up but at $300 a pop was a bit expensive - Posted from rhpmobile

Definitely the way to go, then . I have earlier this year attended a self hypnotherapy course, just to check out the merits. I know of some other people who have attended proper hypnotherapy courses, and have come away credentialed and know how to do it. It's something I would like to take up myself, but it is a rather expensive exercise.

Quoting 'pokemeow' thanks for your feedback and glad it worked for you. will keep an open mind and see what i figure out to tackle with it. there are some issues id rather either be gone from my mind, or deal with without certain feelings, and well, its free with the vouchers, so no loss. time for some pondering in the bedroom about it :) If there was anything so important that came from all types of council, specifically hypnotherapy, it was to rely on feelings, if they hurt they hurt for a reason, it's learning to understand the reason (that is so very important, instinctual, who you are). I learnt, if you suppress feelings, also emotions can be locked away with whatever the trauma, more hurtful, unreasoned with, no closure, confusion, head miles, Alone, despair, etc.. the stronger the emotion Denial defends with Avoidance, at all costs (to forget). The problem is, those emotions may not play their part if perhaps other people, family, loved ones, friends express to you Themselves something your feelings won't register, you will show no emotion. That can be the worser of 'dealing with without certain feelings' ) IMHO and care.

I've had it a few times for different things and its been amazing. It's s special kind of hypnotherapy though and it's a combination of nlp and trauma therapy. Used it to give up smoking 3.5 years ago and walked out a non smoker, couldn't believe I actually ever smoked. Used it to deal with a few traumatic episodes in my life I needed done but couldn't face the emotions. Was brilliant.

My experience was much like Q's It wasn't the magic bullet like it apparently can be for some - but the hypnotherapist also didn't really understand me and wasn't a great fit. I think I had some benefit from a self-hypnosis audio track that was combined with binaural beats.

but was addicted to the nicotine tabs. Hypnotherapy helped me stop those.

Found the clinical hypnosis was more like a type of meditation. So had 10 chillout sessions. But really counting the weeks for the sessions to finish.
