local city/state forums

im curious to know how many people actually go and look in their own city/state forums sections of the forums here? some interesting posts that come up but they get neglected as they will never show up in the main forum unless you go down the right side to find them specifically. i'm going to raise this with redhotpie support, because theres clearly an opportunity here to be more social with local people within the forums, which some people might actually be more comfortable with anyway. and maybe an option to only allow people from that state to view things, etc. so i've posted this in 'australia wide' since this applies to all states. look forward to the feedback, as i feel its something that has been a bit overlooked by rhp hope you are all having a cosy sunday morning (tis the weather for it)

And it probably doesn't matter. But I thought I'd offer the trivia that the fora used to be primarily state based. I often wonder about steering people to the state forums when they post asking about particular places. I did pop over and have a look at the sad state of affairs in the WA forums during the week. I even have a thread there from ages ago that nobody seems to have noticed. I don't have that much time though and tend to focus on the Hot Topic section here and the Chillout Lounge which is only visible to people with immediate posting and never gets very busy.

The S.A forum does not get much traffic at all. While there are S.A forumites just not enough to keep it flowing like the main forum.

very rarely - maybe once every few months I'll click on them if nothing is going on in the main forums and I even remember they're there. But there aren't enough regular forum posters from each state to really keep those sub-forums humming along nicely - and few of the topics I'd find interesting are actually state based. I think it's interesting that some of the topics that get shuffled into those new 'global' sub-forums (e.g. swingers lifestyle) seem to get location based threads moved/linked in there, and not to a state based forum e.g. the "dogging in Place X"Even moderation forgets location sub-forums. I think it is a bit of a mistake to have so many sub-categories under the State forums.

a positive response to my support query to rhp --- We are however open to promoting the State based Forums more again and include them in the mobile App. I'll send your suggestion on to our technical support team for consideration. --- if you dont ask, you dont get :)
