So we are off to France for a few days, sounds like there are a few swingers venues there. Can anyone recommend any? Would love to hear why/why not to visit them.

But I'm pretty sure there will be a few snails trails.. I'll bump it for you, as it would be interesting to hear if anyone has been. Foxy

if you're there in summer or spring, check out Cap d'Agde on the Med - it is quite an 'interesting' town to visit.

We are off to France in late August/September. We will be staying at Cap d'Agde and hoping to visit some nice clubs (that are not overwhelmed by single men).... so will keep an eye on this topic and let you know if we hear for anything that suits. James and Annie

Ultra sexy and notoriously difficult to get in to is the libertine (swingers) club in Paris, Les Chandelles. It is inside the city in Saint Germain (Latin District). We visited a couple of weeks ago...very hot club. Did a tour or many clubs in Europe actually. But be warned. There management is selective of who they let in. Women MUST be dressed glamorously (think sexy dress, stocking, heels) and men MUST look sharp in a suit. Be prepared to be denied if you are not up to standard...sometimes it's not always about being completely drop dead gorgeous, rather it's about the right attitude - or so says they manager. Once your in though....good god it's good. That's our recommendation. :)

....know anything about the swingers scene in Paris, but if you want some fantastic restaurant and cocktail bar recommendations then drop us a message :) . Nothing quite like drinking a Martini in Hemingway's old haunt.

To a restaurant recommendation! Our plan consists basically of wandering and randomly picking out places that look good. I've (Col) been to Paris once before so I have a vague idea of where to start....but lay your recommendations on us! :) - Posted from rhpmobile

Pops up at every search! Sounds divine, but the prospect of not getting in is a but of a put off!

Ok, turns out I can't post links. Not allowed. So here it is without links! The Paris by Mouth food blog is a really great guide to the city if you plan on eating and drinking a bit. Rosebud the bar where Hemmingway used to drink (I’m a Hemmingway junky). Great cocktails. Le Chateaubriand is regularly in the top 50 restaurants in the world. Not too pricey, very laid back and casual. Sublime. Les Papilles is a classic French Bisto and stunning wine shop near Luxembourg gardens. It’s a set menu and you just order your wine from what is available on the shelves. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. L’avant Comptoir is a superb wee hole in the wall wine bar with order as you go tapas. And it has a sublime restaurant called Le Comptoir du Relais next door. It’s expensive but well worth it! Right next to Odeon also. ‘Fish La Boissonnerie’ at 69 Rue de Seine is a great modern bistro and in a swanky shopping area. It’s also right beside a wonderful wine shop called La Derniere Grotte. Take the Metro to Odeon. If you head up to Monmatre to see the Sacre Coeur (and a beautiful view of the city) then go early as it gets amazingly busy. If art is your thing I highly recommend. It’s near the Louvre but it’s about 5% the size, nowhere near as busy and it’s home to Monet’s water lillies, which are stunning and really are worth a look. If you do go to the Louvre then don’t queue at the main entrance! There are about 20 entrances dotted around and only one has a long queue. I reckon one of the best things you can do is grab some wine and a picnic, head to the Pont Neuf bridge and wander right out onto the point in the middle of the river. You can sit and watch people walk along the banks of the Seine as the boats go past. Also worth taking a walk through Pere Lachaise cemetery (resting place of Edith Piaf, Chopin, Oscar Wilde, Tchaikovsky, Jim Morrison etc) or checking out The Catacombs. If you fancy a walk down a typical Parisian market sort of street the Rue Moufftard in the 5th is great. Take the Metro to Cardinal Lemoine and walk across. Great food and some fantastic wine bars and a wonderful cheese chop at the very bottom on the right. Gets a bit lively at night but there is a great brew bar called Brewberry on Rue du Pot de Fer. Some recommendations for Paris. You can’t really go wrong as the whole place is wonderful. Avoid the tourist trap restaurants and you’ll be doing just fine!
