Yes you can catch the same diseases using unclean toys as you can with unprotected sex. There are several ways to avoid this. First - use your own toys on you and nobody else. Second - cover everything with condoms or specially made disposable covers. Three - sterilisation by either boiling, mild bleach solution, dettol and sunlight or at the very least give the article a good scrub in hot soapy water and leave to dry in direct sun. There are also commercial and hospital grade disinfectants available but you usually have to buy in large lots. Be warned - bleaching and sunlight kill the germs but also don't do the toys any good and they deteriorate faster. I have my own toys that I keep in the bedroom and the other stuff is left in the dungeon for general use.

We have separate toys he has a couple of butt plugs and a p-spot toy and i have my own we dont share toys and they are always covered with a condom if going anywhere near the arse but if they are going in me im not too fussed... I have a toy cleaner that i got from the sex shop i wash my toys in warm water and sensitive body wash (stop any irritating purfumes) and then spray the toys and leave them to dry and pack them away... I am very pedantic about my toy hygiene dont want an infection in my vajayjay!! LOL!!!

I got a whole locked metal tool box full of toys (like toolbox on back of commercial vehicle). My fav is the 'Venus Butterfly', that gizmo is fully modular. To keep latex rubber fresh, wrap in cling-film. To cleanse, dishwashing liquid is perfect. To sanitize, use the same stuff used for infants bottles. Some products attack rubber, use 5% bleach mix for few hours. Rubber and sunlight are enemies. Some people don't like pre-played toys, so just buy new ones. The rubber latex called 'Cyber Skin' is excellent and worth the high price. Avoid Ni-Cad and Ni-Mh(nickel-metel-hydryde) batteries as they pack too much punch for some motors. That's my tips from the top.

After you have washed and dried your toys, keep them in press seal plastic bags. Toys kept in drawers or boxes accumulate dust, fluff and mould spores so it is better to keep them sealed up. The bags can be reused a few times and the toys are ready to pull out and use instantly. Also check the use by date on condoms if they have been in the bottom of the drawer for a while and don't forget to do the same with your lube if you have had it for a while.
