Yes, the ages change automatically upon each persons stated birthday. Why do some lie about their age ? How many answers would you like ? For the most part it is the insecurity of the individual involved.But it is also a mechanism to keep them in other peoples search criteria. Most people have a particular cut-off point (around 45 seems to be popular), so some people will keep on adjusting their age to keep inside this point. The other possibilities are endless.... Tall

It shits me too. I'm honest about my age but a large percentage of men, women and couples lie about their age. One woman I started communicating with off here, privately, was indicating she was menopausal and I said you're young to be going into menopause. She laughed and said "I'm older than you". I wasn't laughing. I hate liars. Plenty of others permanently keep their age under 45 to get into searches, others under 65 who I believe are older than that. The women don't need to lie, they'll get action anyway,but it is very disappointing when those very people will be on here giving advice about how people should be honest and up front. Eye roll

Some people just look really old so don’t automatically assume you’re being lied to. I was getting hit on by a dude once & was considering it, thinking we were the same age...turns out he was 10 years younger than me! 😳

...I thought maybe you were telling everyone to dash back and drop their age, you know just to seem to look older than "that" if you do happen to meet? The real answer is some do, some don't, some will and some won't...kind of like the rest of the things that can happen if you hang around sites like this? Sooner or later it does become a reality bite and sometimes reality is a vampire...it really sucks! Yes, your age is supposed to change automatically each year as part of your profile but can be reset to suit. I am 39, really I am! I just fib upwards to attract younger women who like older men. Mine isn't correct but only by a month or so. I don't put my date of birth on any forms that don't absolutely require it. Just a paranoid habit about providing too much detail and identity theft. Probably a complete waste of time given google has all my personal data.

What about when there age is different to where they put it into the about me section. Just shows profiles aren't updated for years at a time. Pictures are my biggest gripe. Profile pic is old and then updated ones in gallery. I try to be as honest as I can be regarding age which is true. Pics with and without makeup on. The only thing I won't do is with more undressed pics is show my face and body together. Dressed pics no problem. Would hate to meet someone and see the look of dissapointment because I didnt represent myself honestly.

I know soooooo many people who lie about their age on here its pretty much a given I assume. Lots lie to put their age under 40 to chase those younger than themselves cos they “don’t think they look or feel their age” whatever that means. Others over 50 do it to get invited to events where the cutoff mark is 50. But then again the vast majority of people stretch the truth on here to get their foot in the door wherever they have to. Vanity...it’s a curse lol

We've had the same issues on multiple occasions where it is very evident in person that someone has been less than truthful about their age. Mine (Mr ROF) will tick over tonight at midnight......Happy Birthday to me! Quite happy to be ageing gracefully and don't see any need to lie about my 38yrs of life experience. The way I see it, I may be getting a year closer to death but I managed to cheat it so far, lol.

I don't really care if someone lies about their age.What matters most is what you look like NOW. Some people are young but look much older.Have worked with many that I thought were older than me and was shocked to learn that they were 10+ years younger.Conversely, there 60+ that look better than most 40 year olds. Age is a number and often a poor representative of a person.For example, a few weeks ago, I went to an AC/DC tribute show and rock it full on.There were a couple of really young guys that tried to match me, but they had no hope.No-one in the room came close to keeping up with me and I will be 53 in 2 days.At the Ravo Blues Fest, one guy actually grabbed me and asked me to stop because he thought that I surely would drop dead any second.I replied "You are not as old as you feel. You are as old as you act"PS: Just to clarify....There were No Drugs involved. Back on photos.I dig that many create profiles and years later their pics haven't been updated.I was the same...Not intentional...time just passes.Personally, I addressed this issue by annotating most of my pics with the date that it was taken. You say that your pic was taken when you were modelling...Fine.As Tall said, WHEN was that pic taken?Everyone claims to be honest and trustworthy, but that needs to be evidenced that in your profile.Otherwise, you have just shot yourself in the foot. I just uploaded a pic to my profile to illustrate the point (needs to be reviewed before it gets added)Outdated pics are OK, as long as you are honest and upfront about them.Otherwise, either keep our pics current (within 6 months) or date stamp them.IMHO

Honestly, I’m proud to say I’m 57, my pics are about 12 months old and I love it when I’m told I can’t be that old. I’m proud to display my age and couldn’t give a shit trying to fit in with a younger crowd if they aren’t looking for someone like me. Same goes for pictures in profiles that are over 5 years old, cmon everyone changes in 5 years, be honest if a meet is organised there will be disappointment unless you somehow look better than yourself now than 5 years or more ago.

People lie about a lot of things, age , name, location, attached or unattached. Thing is people are horny and just want to have fun, they are maybe afraid of the commitment, or just dont want to give away too much info. There are a few creepers so I understand their reasoning. End of the day, if you get what you want and no one is hurt, I see no problem who they say they are or arent

I lied on my profile when I first joined - I was only 19 and bumped it up a few years so we weren't told that I was 'too young.' I met a guy off here who was in his early 40s and shaved off a few years to get in with those women who had an under 40 cut off. Saw him from a few months and the number didn't bother me, he admitted it on the first meet, my profile was more about weeding out the majority that didn't fit what I was after at the time outside of that age group. Some might look good for their age, but going by the profiles I've viewed, following a message or flirt, a large percentage lie about their age, some by a good decade or two. As someone said here, it doesn't get them anywhere because we know what we're attracted to anyway. Annie, I 100% disagree that age is just a number. No it's not, it's a timeline that can have a significant effect on experience, I'll get back to that in a minute, energy, exuberance, baggage, sexual performance, body shape/fitness, a whole list of things that can be relevant to age, young or old. I base my age criteria on my experiences and communications, but mostly actual meets. I could list at least 10 reasons,but I would just get slammed again for those reasons. But I don't care if I upset older men for ruling them out, because I have my reasons and know what I want. Didn't you say before you lied about your age? Can I ask why that is?

Getting back to experience, I like modern experience, modern oral skills, modern interest in learning and pleasing a woman. Yeah I agree. I met this guy one day who told me it was his birthday. I said happy birthday but he wasn't happy at all. To give some insight, he was a gym junkie and good looking, he looked great but when he started talking, I felt sorry for him because he seemed to be trying too hard to look and act young, said he didn't feel that old. Hello, none of us do! But because he was so self absorbed, he missed my initial lust lol That left though soon enough because I found him a bit immature and vacant. My 50's have been the best years of my life. I wouldn't swap them for anything. I find it hard enough trying to look good 'for my age'. I seriously couldn't be bothered trying to look younger. Who wants that sort of pressure?

People age differently, some more some less. To find the age of a tree, you cut it down and count the rings. Too late then, destroying a wonderful piece of nature unless it was dying or dead. Up to then, it served wonderfully as a superb bit of landscape or a great piece of shade on a hot day. A habitat for some fauna. A person looks how they look. Maybe they look too old for you, too young or maybe you find them attractive and hot. Age being a number beside that pic immediately influences your perception does it not? Of course, it is a problem when they post outdated pics that do not represent the real them. That just fucks it all. When you meet cold in real life, there is no balloon floating above their head with their age on it. You engage purely what is there in front of you. Later on after maybe sex or just a great chat and drink the age is revealed and it is often then irrelevant because emotion may have impinge on the senses. I have said previously, age IS just a number except online when it needs to fit within someone's preferences to be accepted. I guess it's the era we find ourselves. Experience has taught me those that have unnegiotable age preferences are just fooling themselves a little. They have become cold and hard in the online world, forgetting about the previous years when we just took people at face value.
