Welcome! A place to talk and share about **what ever really tickles your fancy, news, food, drinks, TV shows, movies, your highlights of the week, etc etc just like you would meeting friends/coworkers, meet ups, in a coffee shop. ☕ **As a gentle reminder the Forum Posting guidelines: (Cut and pasted from the Forum help section, "Stay on Topic".) QUOTE: From now on, if we notice a considerable shift in discussions (ie - people going off topic), the Topic will either be shut down or the poster who takes the Topic off track (on purpose and with no regard for other people) may be banned from posting for a period of time that they feel is appropriate. If someone has taken a Topic off track deliberately and with malicious intent, please feel free to report that user. Playful banter and exchange is fine but as a matter of etiquette, please consider if that in itself is causing the topic to go off track. Keep it to a minimum! Take a seat, place your order, wind down, relax and enjoy. 👍

Lily You know the spiel. Pick it up, feel it, see if it brings you joy, if not it’s gone. It could also work with meeting people as well 😉 This woman is onto something .

Been meaning to log in and post for a day or two. Our thoughts go out to all those injured, killed, their families and friends, in Nairobi this week. Another pointless and sickening attack. .. Likewise, although she is Not the only one of late, our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Aiia Maasarwe. We Don't seem to have moved far from Jill Meagher or Eurydice Dixon... "Mooning: is the term coined by those who switch their mobile to the "Do Not Disturb" option. In reality, mooning is the ultimate digital middle finger, and you probably don't even know it's happening to you. It's named after the half moon symbol that appears on the top right-hand side of your screen. When enabled, calls and alerts that arrive while the phone is locked will be silenced. Those who want to take mooning one step further on WhatsApp, there is a way to read messages without the other person knowing you've read them. In other words, the person who sent you the message won't receive the double blue ticks that notify when the recipient has read it. Say you get a few messages sliding onto your locked screen. All you have to do is drag up the mini menu and switch your phone to aeroplane mode. Then you can read the message without the other person knowing you have. After, however, you've got to turn off your phone, turn it back on then take it off aeroplane mode." Thank me later. :) Ms Foxy

The nbn... got a call about switching over this arvo. The guy asks for hubby's legal name which makes him seem official. Questions asked about proving himself real ring true. The only thing... The account is in my name and I have no patience for being manipulated. Googled the contact number he gave me while I was still on the line and turned out he was an onseller, and well... you can all imagine the rest seems as I have no time for being fucked around. I mean it doesn't make sense he is asking for the person who doesn't hold the account... does it? And, If it doesn't make sense, it's not true - *Judge Judy* Peachy, also ver' happy to have had the opportunity to have a major PIF moment today. Satisfied is the word TGIF

So many new terms. *Urban Dictionary* Stashing is when you're in a relationship with someone and you refuse to introduce them to your friends and family; mostly because you view the person as temporary, replaceable, and/or you're an asshole. Friend: "Hey have you met John's parents yet? You've been together for months" Stashee (or person being stashed): "No, I think he's stashing me. We don't have any pictures together either." Ms Foxy

Foxxxy, On "stashing", I think that depends on the type of relationship. Some people classify a friends with benefits as a relationship, some don't. More to the point, I haven't introduced the couple I have been long friends with, to my family. Am I stashing them? :P We do have pictures together, or more correctly, videos ;)

Oh well then there's that other sound (excuse the pun again, that just might bite em in the arse) of their phone falling into the toilet. Ex Canberra resident and my mates still live there. Depends on what you are into. Lots of free entry museums and exhibits all around the central district and lake. Google or grab a general Canberra tourist brochure and you'll have along list. Too bad I'm not there to do the whole travel guide thing...

SD. Was going to suggest the War Memorial but others beat me to it. If you want to go somewhere that looks all over Canberra you could try the Telstra tower on the hill called Black Mountain. Not sure how much it costs (been a while since i was there last) but the view is pretty good

Cheers for the suggestions everyone. I'll only have a day and relying on public transport so will see how I go. Definitely want to check out the botanic gardens and national museum, anything else will depend on how much time I have left. Would love to go to the arboretum but just won't have time unfortunately.

Went to a "Sensual Speed Dating" event in Brunswick by Intimate Horizons on Sat just gone. Was a good event and something a little different to regular speed dating. Still awaiting email on any mutual matches from the organiser/s (although not holding my breath as I haven't made any before). It was still a good social night out regardless.
