Two messages, both received today. RHP: "Hi love to catch up let me know if your keen loved your profile" Vanilla: "I stumbled upon your profile and admittedly I am quite intrigued, which is why I wish to express a desire to become better acquainted as I think that we are particularly well suited. Granted, there exists a notable disparity in age, however, I assure you that I am exceptionally mature for my 24 years. This is my first 'foray' into the world of online dating and I am yet to complete my profile although I would describe myself as a debonair gentleman who endeavours to appropriate all actions to the utmost decorum. Avidly awaiting your response ..." How to choose!

Almost as believable as Doctor Actor, who actually admitted to not knowing what Tineye was.

"Archeologists in Gdańsk, Poland were digging up a latrine recently when they discovered a well-preserved dildo in the shitter. It's made of bristle-filled leather and capped with a wooden tip. The dildo is also eight inches long, big enough to make most men say, "I never thought I'd be jealous of something found in an 18th century toilet." The archeologists believe the dildo was dropped in the latrine by accident, because the leather is high-quality and the dildo was likely very expensive. According to a press release from the Regional Office of the Protection of Monuments in Poland, archeologists also found several wooden swords nearby, leading them to believe that the location was once a fencing school. So, if what happened with this dildo in the 18th century happened today, its modern equivalent would be some kid going to his karate dojo at the mall, taking a bathroom break to go use his dildo, dropping it in, and then being too embarrassed to remove it from the toilet. The press release also noted that the dildo has been taken away for "maintenance," which I assume means that somewhere in Poland, there's a person currently getting plowed by a dildo with 250ish years of experience (247 of those years being "experience sitting in a toilet"). Google some sentences from this article to see a pic of the antique toy.

On that vanilla site I just got contacted by a handsome guy who said he's from the UK. I asked him why profile says New York, but he assured me he lives in Manchester. Not compleeeeetely convinced, I Googled his pic and found out this guy's photo are being used by known African scammers. I reported him, but because of that all contact between us has been cut. Damnit, I was looking forward to his emails declaring his love, before being robbed or something and needing money.

that this place can just get you down after a while. I've been here 9 months and while I've had great experiences, the majority of personal interaction that occurs on the site is just fucking awful. I think everyone has a certain level of tolerance for it until something happens that tips you over. I reached critical mass yesterday after yet another 'well I wouldn't fuck you anyway' spoilt little brat with a bruised ego response. That's why I'm taking a break anyway. I'll still post and hang out in the chat room for now, but I'm closed for business in all other respects. - Posted from rhpmobile

Hey all. I have been reading the forums since I joined not so long ago and am quite, shall we say shocked at some of the intolerance, judging and rudeness that I really didn't expect to see on what I thought would be a completely open place. So sorry to all that have experienced shite here and I see where Kis is coming from. Most people can only take so much until they snap. Opinions are just that and nothing more and copping crap over a refusal just sucks. I believe most that crack the shits and get angry and rude only do so because there are no reprisals in the virtual world unlike reality and they show a great sign of weakness in respect for themselves.

Quoting 'CucknShells' watching a series called The Affair. It just ended. I thought I must missed the last episode but no that was the end of the series. To be continued........... I hope for your sake that the show has been renewed and continues :) So many promising shows get canned after a season or two, just after you're thoroughly hooked :( e.g. Happy Endings, The Gates, Firefly, Secret Circle, Farscape, Third Watch... fortunately we're up to the 57th variation of CSI, NCIS and Law and Order (any Chicago PD watchers here? Is it worth the effort, devoted Chicago Fire-ee... but not sure about the crossover/spin-off shows)

"Dutch designer Mark Sturkenboom has created a truly unique way to keep your lost late spouse just that little bit closer to your heart, apparently after realising traditional urns lacked sex appeal. Intended for widows, Sturkenboom says his “memory box” will help recapture the feelings of intimacy that are all too often lost with bereavement. It is called 21 Grams, the weight the human soul is said to hold, and the box contains a few things – most notably an acoustic amplifier, the scent of his aftershave and, of course, a transparent dildo to house the deceased’s ashes." I am bothered by the events in Indonesia. You are all probably asleep already, but I'm in a different timezone, and will see the updates when it happens in the next hour. There's probably people here that support the death penalty, and possibly even some that think it's appropriate to tie a bunch of stupid and unlucky men and women to wooden stakes in the dark of night and shoot at them until they are dead. Bu it's never ok to take another person's life, no matter what they have done. In the case of Chan and Sukumaran it is particularly obscene. The death penalty is supposedly justified for the most heinous of crimes, and for offenders that are simply too nasty to be any part of society. This case does not satisfy either criteria. Sure, they committed a crime that would cause some harm to society had they got away with it - but they were mid-level (at best) players supplying a willing market. They were dumb enough to do it in a place that treats such crimes brutally (not that any Indonesians would have been harmed – the drugs were coming to Australia). They were unlucky enough to be sold out by an Australian Federal Police whose job is supposed to be protecting Australians. None of that can possibly mean they deserve to be murdered. None of that can possibly justify the pain their families are now suffering. They should be sitting in jail for a long time contemplating the errors of their ways, not deciding if they want to stand or kneel while they are used for target practice. The seven unfortunate victims to die with them have committed similar stupidities, although in a couple of cases they may well in fact be innocent. None of the 9 victims are dying because they pose a permanent and serious threat to society; they are not dying because they committed an atrocity; they are being killed because a lame president needs to improve his polling. So I just wanted to say a big fuck you to the pissweak President Joko Widodo, a very small man well out of his depth. May you continue to be whipped by your political masters until you are unceremoniously dumped on the scrapheap you belong. And I wanted to say to those that think the state should have the right to kill people, this is a great example of why that power is so dangerous and wrong. Just needed to get that out there.

If you are upset about the whole circus that went on with the recent events around convicted criminals (they did smuggle drugs into a country where they knew that the death penalty is still in use - let's stop with the glorification that comes from the media!) then simply - do not go there and spend your hard earned disposable income there. There are many many many beautiful places in the world and many many local communities who struggle with life and benefit from socially and environmentally sustainable tourism.

I don't condone the death penalty one iota, however as the media portrays them as victims and almost martyrs I remember that these guys were organised drug traffickers who's actions have other young Aussies in a living hell for life. What would they be doing now if not caught ? Selling their wares and enjoying the profits is what. I agree with Simon but at the same time the sympathy cry is a bit over the top.
-
RHP User
I fully agree, especially regarding the role that the AFP has played. Freya, like you I'm also conflicted about what we can do & agree that boycotting Bali will hurt those people who don't have anything to do with this tragic outcome. Having said that, I've never been to Bali, have never had any great desire to do so and even less now. I am totally against the death penalty, & I will continue to donate to and support Amnesty International. Indonesia is not the only country with the death penalty (hello USA), and I want to see it abolished world wide. Mea, yes the world does suck just a little bit more. Personally, I'm going to be a coward and avoid any media coverage altogether over the next 24 hours. Between the executions and the Nepal disaster, my soul is raw today. Much love, Elle xx

We could encourage our government to stop treating Indonesia like our door mat. Lots of countries have the death penalty (which I am against) - including our biggest trade partners. So Australia is a lil hypocritical if it oversteps the mark here. I believe the death of those two men was politically driven, not because of their crimes. Australia has a horrible reputation in Indonesia and our diplomacy there is heavy handed. Keep an eye on Jakata Post (not Australian media) for insights into how the government and general population view Australia. I would never go back to Bali - but only because I was so embarrassed to be Australian when I was there.
-
RHP User

Couldnt have said it better HennaJay- the executions of the 2 Australians was all about politics - simply put it was Indonesian Govt sending a very strong message to the Australian Govt - that we as Indonesians will not be dictated to nor will we bow down to Australian heavy handed/ condescending/ patronizing treatment of us as a nation through your foreign policy. Its time that Australia treated its 3 world neighbors as equals. Had the Australian govt had a more respectful foreign policy with Indonesia, the clemency bid would have had a much stronger chance of succeeding.
-
RHP User

That's what you get when you put domestic politics and populism ahead of all else. Our weak, populist government has repeatedly insulted and antagonised Indonesia. When a weak populist President is elected there it's hardly surprising he does the same thing to Australia. Of course our treatment of foreign nationals who have wronged us by coming here asking for help is well known in the region. You can't operate off-shore concentration camps without the neighbours noticing. We would all like to think that Australia would never kill people in the name of domestic politics, but actually we have. It does put a bit of a dent in our ability to lecture others on human rights. Whatever the retaliation is now, I hope the AFP are now banned from providing information to Indonesia on drug related issues. Had the Bali 9 been allowed to come here for arrest not only would these two citizens be alive, but they may have actually caught the ringleaders at this end. That's all from me, sorry for the downer. I will go and make a few smartarse comments on other threads now as penance.

There would BE no execution..... if there wasn't the drug smuggling first. One came well before the other. And to dictate what another nation should do with its sovereign laws..... means we should similarly accept other nations telling us what to do with ours.... or be condemned as weak and hypocritical. Only two people made the decision to smuggle drugs...... and yes, its unfortunate that they were executed..... but responsibility for that is ultimately theirs to carry, not a governments.

Only two people made the decision to smuggle drugs...... and yes, its unfortunate that they were executed..... but responsibility for that is ultimately theirs to carry, not a governments. for me this is coming back to the media...Australian public is saying that Indonesia turned this into a circus - well the Australian Media was there on site reporting about "developments" almost for weeks - I recall there were already "in depth Coverage" reports back in February and the year before and the year before etc etc. Now it is an uproar and almost nearing the verge of "tribute" shows and segments - and comdemation of Indonesia for their own laws -it is an independent country - their country- their laws. The responsibility is with the people who committed the crime - consular assistance was provided -as would have been for anyone- then the cost of appeal process - with lawyers and consular staff was provided by the Australian government -financed by the tax payers- as it should be . At the end of the day Indonesia decided to proceed with the execution as per their laws - end of story..Time for the media to stop the circus.
