If it is turning to vinegar, you are probably leaving it to referment too long..I can leave my original with just tea, sugar and my SCOBY for a week, or much more.. but, once I have put the fruit or spices in, I only leave it a day to referment.. then seal it, and fridge it.. mind you, it doesn't last long at my place.. Come visit some time..

I wouldn't THINK it would damage it.. the "Good things" in kombucha are almost sub atomic anyway.. bacteria.. .. Vodka is made much the same way as Kombucha anyway.. in so far as, it is yeast eating sugar which is then distilled to drop impurities.. My still wash (Basic mix) is 6kg of white sugar, fully dissolved in clean water to make 25ltrs of liquid. Then, I had a yeast called Turbo heat wave or turbo 48.. mix it all together... leave it to do it's shit for a couple of weeks, then pass through a still.. I make Mead also, which is 6 to 8kg of honey dissolved in water.. with all sports of spices and fruits to add flavour.. THEN a champagne yeast added.. leave that for maybe 12 to 16 weeks.. then decant off the liquid into bottles (I decant a couple of times to further reduce sediment) battle it up..and leave it in a dark cupboard for another couple of months.. Back in theold days, they did not have refined sugar, so used honey.. It works the same way.. yeast eats sugar and turns it into alcohol.. In kombucha, there is a "Growth" it is called a "SCOBY" which is "Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast" - which is perfectly healthy to eat too.. or cook with.. or feed to your chooks.. or other animals.. ... :)

annie. that’s exactly what i was thinking kombucha margys, be nice to have a nice mixer not sofa water its ok but still feels like. nothing special ,margymixers are loaded in more sugar than anything ,and carbonated drinks are just shit for reflux full stop, not to mention the sugar content in the real stuff ,hmmmm i see a strawberry and hibiscus tequila in our future ,the carrot turmeric and ginger one without anything just plain sucked ,blehhhh won’t be wasting vodka or tequila on that 🤮 - Posted from rhpmobile

Kombucha: you go visit someone and they offer you a drink of kombucha - you fucking love it..They tell you it is easy a shit to make.. and offer you a "SCOBY" You wonder what the fuck to do with it right?Easy as shit..When they give it to you, it "SHOULD" be in about a cupful of THEIR Kombucha...You go get a 2ltr Glass jar.Boil a kettle of "Non Chlorinated" water (Best to use rain water)take two cups of boiling water, a half cup of sugar and maybe 4 to 8 tea bags (Stick with black tea for this exercise - you can use different teas later, once you learn more)chuck all that shit in together and stir until you get some colour form your tea - then remove tea bags.. and continue to stir to fully dissolve the sugar.Add more cold water - AND the jar your friend gave you (With the SCOBY, and the cupful (ish) of their Kombucha.your bottle SHOULD be almost full.Cover the jar with cheesecloth to keep insects and shit out of the mix - put it in a dark cool panty and leave it for 7 to 10 days..IF you "Peek", you will notice the "SCOBY" will be growing.. if MIGHT sink, and another one may form on the top of the jar - (different one act differently due a number of reasons..) While you are waiting, go buy a couple of bottle with a clip-seal top bottles (You know the little wire clips that hold a sealed lid in the bottle?) - OR buy a carton of "Grolsch beer.. drink the beer and use the empties.. (Win/win) THEN come back and ask me more for the next step... OR make GOOGLE your friend ;)Let it all cool down to cool room temperature, then drop in your

Like your info your giving people, (ref Kombucha) I'll give it a go. One question room temp, !!!! Living in the tropics this can very some what, I'm assuming a little variation or variations in temp will not overly effect the brew as with beer brew.

in YOUR case in the tropics, "Store in a COOL pantry".. or under your "Queenslander"/.. if you are lucky enough to have one.. ;) Summer on my place - "Hot as Hell, and dry as a Nun's ...." so, I have a "Coolish" dig-out under my house... Winter is often sub zero, which has it's own issues with shit I try to do.. It is probably best to use a pantry instead of my original suggestion to use a cool Panty... Panties SHOULD be hot and moist and delightfully odorous.. But THAT is another story..

Yesterday, I went for a walk at lunchtime and wandered into a vintage OP shop. After a few minutes, spotted a dress hanging in the corner. Recognised the style, tried it and it fits beautifully. Paid $50 for it. A vintage hand finished tailored Valentino spring dress and jacket! Bargain of the century!!!

Else getting timed out when trying to access things on the site? I can sign in, but when I try to move off my home page (I only use the full site), it freezes up and I get a gateway timeout message. Then I'll try again and it reluctantly move off to where I want to go....only to freeze up again a few clicks later. It's happening all the time to me and it is bloody annoying.

Squeezing the last out of my MIFF membership, I was fortunate enough tonight to attend the world premiere of Jimmys Barnes doco “Working Class Boy” This doco will be on general release next week Be warned, this is not a Cold Chisel doco but the true story of Jimmys life up to the forming of Cold Chisel based on Jimmys book of the same name It is raw, beautiful, funny, confronting and tackles so many issues that are sadly still relevant today, all with thoughtful and simply arranged musical interludes (some Chisel songs) Jimmy was present, resplendent in a kilt and carry a leg injury, he was talkative and gracious with the Q and A after the film and brutally honest I do urge people to see it but more importantly Jimmy has recorded a soundtrack of the musical arrangements in the film, which is released tomorrow with ALL proceeds going towards the drought relief, now that’s speesh This is a great way to get behind helping out our people on the land Jimmy, great show but amazing generosity which I hope many will get behind by buying the soundtrack Australia’s Working Class Man, on loan from Glasgow

It sure is frustrating on here lately bob, Even for a paid member, the speed and frequent post issues in forums make me really wonder why I bother paying. The whole process of someone sitting in a dark room checking every image and deciding if it is okay to post, if it should be restricted or not grinds my gears, if people want to share photos of themselves they should be allowed to do so, and if someone chooses to open their pictures up to guests then there should be no filtering at all, otherwise you are pushing people onto other platforms like kik to chat and share pics 😡 End of rant

After working 15 hours straight today . Early start at 6 am and haven't stopped at furiously fast and pressured pace. Decisions decisions. It's 8:45 and just munching on celery and homemade tatsiki as can't be bothered to cook. Tough week. Went for drinks after work with clients. All happy and had a cocktail. A single cocktail on empty stomach makes my head feel light too quickly.... 😱. I just want to crawl into my bed now. 😴 Tomorrow back to work at 6am . I'm sure showing up at work on weekends allows me to come in in my PJs?

fucking celery!!!My diet daily is approximately as below:5 to 6 eggs:up to a kilo of "Blue" steaka kilo of Greek yoghurt100gms of cheesefruit and shit out of my garden and an "All-day" travel mug of coffee of 4 tablespoons of coffee and a healthy dose of chilli flake in it.I bust my arse all day running stairways and conveyor belts on minesites.. onsite at 0515 and off around 1845 everyday. SOMEDAYS.. I get so tired, I fucking wish I had another kilo of steak.. Doing long shifts girl, you NEED IRON... and you will NOT Get that from celery and Tatsiki... Just saying...

My brain had been hurting last night and too tired to think. Cut celery and tub if tatsiki were in my fridge waiting to be rescued. 😲. Too tired to chew on steak. Yep long hours is the drawback of running a few businesses. Been up since 5 and on site at 6am. Flat out already as new cafe I co-own been full and two baristas were trying hard to keep up with orders. I had to help out in kitchen as breakfast service on Saturday start at 7. Breakneck speed with full staff on floor. And kitchen humming in all stations. I got out at 10:30am. Got my fourth strong soy latte and had my full big brekkie.😋 So I'm replenished.😊 I'm Off to my boxing training at 12-1:45. Sparring would be a bitch today. 😭 I needed that meat to get me going today. Yep. Iron indeed.

Talking of beds... I own a huge 4 bedroom home out in the scrub.. and after well over 5 years of owning it, I STILL have not slept in any one of them.. I mean.. IF I have an "Ummm, Friend" over, I will spend time with her in one of the beds.. OR we will end up on a mattress in front of the fire... OR on the "Day Couch" on the verandah.. Or on a cosy mattress on the back of the ute under the stars.. So... last week, I had thrown my swag out on one of the benches in my shed.. and crawled in.. got the thinking..."Why the fuck did I even BUY this fucking place?"I swear, I should just dig a hole and MAKE a cave.. the problem is, "My place is 6 acres of fucking exposed Granite!! Way better than coffee. Got a surprise delivery from Cap'n No Beard yesterday, was a bottle of the Cap'ns best plonk. (ole rum from his personal barrel must have been). Aye, tastes like a good drop too. Note said something about keel hauling the scurvy ridden first mate who admitted to drinking the original delivery himself, sted of delivering it like. Not all his fault though, probably had trouble tracking me down as on the move a bit I was, from QLD to Auckland & now anchored up West coast NZ. Plonk tastes all the better though for travelling all this way. Cheers Cap'n No Beard.
