Quoting 'pipsqueak' I’m not happy with my super and the fund I’ve invested in. I went and saw a financial adviser who left me in a spin and more confused I’ve heard about this book a bit, but I’m ignorant I will download and search these groups Thankyou again My takeaway from the Royal Commission is that industry funds aren't as dodgy as retail in their practices... relatively speaking. Unless the fund you're unhappy with is an industry fund already!

It’s kinda of where I’m looking at now I’m with a big company that got a bad rap through the Royal Comission which is what started me looking into it I bought a copy of the barefoot investor and I’ve just read the super section which was really good, so I’m doing my tedious homework on it all I’m thinking industry is the way to go too Thanks for your input

Whilst i don't follow Scott Pape, I'm familiar with him. He puts things into real world perspective, without the "guff". And if you do follow what he talks about you wont go wrong. But here's the kicker. At the end of the day when you think about it , its all about common sense. You wouldn't borrow money @20% to buy a house , so why would you borrow it on a credit card to pay for a skirt. Set a goal, make a plan, work that plan , and continually cross check to ensure you are on track.I think super for the most part is a scam. Fees charged erode your investment, goal posts keep changing with respect to when and how you get to access it. My way of thinking is that they want you dead before its time to pay out.Super funds invest in primarily two things.....Property and shares. You can do that. But they are long term investments 10-15yrs.......Im yet to se anyone who's lost their arse in any state who bought property or shares 10-15-20 yrs ago. ( and kept them)..Stay away from flats or units, unless its supplementary or a stepping stone. Oh, and nice profile pic

I was really disappointed it got closed. During the day it got political, so pulled, I kinda of knew it would As I said I was really interested in the stories people shared, more so cause I slept through it and as you saw there were great posts there including your own. It was great insight into people lives, at that time I could have put up a post like where were you when you heard Princess Di died. But I thought 9/11 was more relevant Anyway Thanks too all for all the barefoot investor advice , downloaded it and actually enjoyed his style of his writing Off to invest the Pipsqueak millions Ms Jonesy welcome home safe and sound

Was watching (and enjoying) Antiques Roadshow (yes kill me now haha), and a book was presented on the concepts of stock market investment, however the book came from an age of the very beginnings of stock purchasing, hundreds of years old I believe. Apparently, the book contained many English terms still used, and much advice still not learned from, it seems for many :P

for raising the price of milk by 10 cent to help our drought stricken struggling farmers, however its only on one brand, C'mon have the balls to go all the way and do it on every brand. The people have the power to change things Coles, I am a regular Coles shopper, lift your fucking game and match if not outdo Woolies, but shame on you for not even meeting with the farmers. People vote with their wallet Cut don't chuck Cut up strawberries, make for excellent margaritas Get some strawbs in your blender, and help out those who are affect by some fucked up numnut Everyone of us can make a difference

Fuck woolies fuck em all. Those scumbags are profiteering off the farmers backs and in most cases screw them over on farm gate prices giving them the barest minimum they possibly can. Then they try and look like the big fucking heros making us pay the extra 10c. Really? In reality THEY should shoulder the costs and not be passing it off to the customers.

It's actually the big milk companies that screw the farmers. They have traditionally told dairy farmers that they can't pay them more because they themselves are under pressure from the supermarkets. However it is found now under investigation of their contracts, that is actually not the case and the supermarket is actually beholden to them and their operating costs, which can include high variability of what they choose to pay the farmers. That's not to say to big supermarkets aren't still c**ts in other areas. - Posted from rhpmobile

of July 9th was a double whammy my daughter broke up with her toxic partner, which was a relief and my mum passed away two days later. It was unfortunate that there were some problems with myself and my mum but I was at the hospital along with my son and daughter when she passed away, we were all able to say goodbye to her. It has been an emotional rollercoaster that's for sure. I have had a few nasty viruses, but I am finally starting to feel a lot better. I am estranged from my siblings have been for many years not sure what's ahead some things may change but I doubt it sadly as I was hoping when the time came about with my mum's passing there would be a shift, but there wasn't. I am glad I was able to be there to say goodbye to my mum, that was very important and symbolic to me.

Seeing you’re both embattled with the threat of alien invasions, I’d like to share with you my most favourite ever alien invasion quote. “The ships hung in the sky much in the same way that bricks don’t” First in with the name of the book/movie, main characters name, zaphods last name and the name of the depressed robot wins a high five and some old school respect 😉. Bonus points for the author.. My next favourite alien invasion quote is from Life of Brian after the spaceship plummeted back to earth. “You lucky, lucky bastard!” 😂. Sharing is caring isn’t it? Lol.

Yeah, was in a bit of a rush at 7:30 this morning and didn't want to have to grab the tablet and log in, but even by then MrMR. had Beeblebrox. I loved the television series when I was a teenager. There were only a few of us that watched it, however, we often walked around quoting lines from it , when not quoting Dire Straights lyrics, or lines from Australia You're Standing In It. Ah, Tim and Debbie. Rod Quantock (wow, spellcheck didn't like that) was great too. I didn't see the film version of HGTTG, think it came out around the time they were taking lots of old shows, like Bewitched and turning them into movies. Arthur Dent was the main character, loved the dressing gown, can't remember name of the android, Douglas Adams, the author died years ago. Had a friend who had a copy of the book but don't think I ever did. What was the play like Mr MR.? And how long was it. I guess the movie made an impression on you tcm, was it good. Look at the series if you ever get the time or chance. Mr. urn. .

Super proud of my daughter's achievements yesterday at her State athletics carnival in Sydney. 9 months out from her accident where she became a paraplegic, she broke the meet record in the 800m in wheelchair racing by 17secs. She now holds the u18 shot put record for her disability level (added a metre to the old mark) and she set a new Australian record in the discus where she claimed the u18,u20 and open records. Added about 2 metres to those.

I wonder about the the state the turtle was in previously too. You know, alive... No tear face to put here. The stories I see every day about the way animals are treated by humans is shocking. I'm relieved I go out of my way to find the stories where people do care, some risking themselves they care so much. And the animals that might normally attack them are grateful... And we're supposed to be the superior species.
-
RHP User

I lost a post in between, I was referring to how the news about the turtle was shared on social media and how one of those stories did not include the facts of how it got in the woman's vagina, so it got to be a joke instead of the serious matter it actually was. Shame, hope this makes it through...
