Quoting 'Tall_n_Hard' Don't know about your presumption about Peachy. One thing I've noticed is that she is clearly a very sensitive person and really didn't like any form of conflict goin' on about the place. Wouldn't be surprized if she gave the site a clear steer for a good while. Tall I respect your personal opinion of her and will not doubt you feel that way. You are entitled to it. I have my own opinions and need not spell it out here with due respect to Peachy. We have our differences in our views. Who doesn't . However, every one is welcome in the forum to state their views regardless and she has a place in the forum like everyone has. I would disagree though about the conflict avoidance but that is my personal opinion. I will not talk about it any further as it is deemed rude to talk about her now that she is gone from the forums (I'm sure temporarily) and unable to defend herself. The forum plays a big part in her life, it seems, and I'm sure she is reading this as we speak. Despite it all, I hope she is doing ok.

I was not making any derogatory assumptions about yourself of your view of what has happened of late. What I said was purely from what I have seen of Peachy's responses during my time here in the forums. She appeared to me to be a quite gentle type of lady who really didn't like conflict. I am quite open to your view if you know of something different, as I don't know of any instance whereby she would actively seek a harsh confrontation with anyone. Yes, my opinion, but that is all I know of her. Obviously there were times she would disagree with others, as we all do at times. I would welcome your view if you would wish to speak up. Tall

Absolutely no disrespect intended to your posting. I am merely trying to be fair and to let you (or anyone else for that matter) to have the ability to express an opinion on a subject that was raised. I know Peachy is no longer here and can't put in any defence, but should anyone have a point they wish to express, all I'm saying is that I wish this to be as fair as possible in order to have their say also. Nothing more, nothing less, and no stirring intended for that. Will leave it at that. Thanks, Tall

Nope, I do not have to spill anything 😛 but I can say that kindness has its own disadvantages, especially when you are kind to the wrong person/people/situation! And that's what happened to me yesterday as my kindness got abused! Therefore, it hurts and so I wish Karma on the dickhead who abused my kindness! There is no free lunch in this world, so what goes around comes around :) I'm fine today as it's not worth to hold grudge in life, especially towards a scum as such 😜 - Posted from rhpmobile

The thing about Karma is that it needs the assistance of good people... "the standard you walk past is the standard you accept" General David John Hurley AC, DSC (Ret'd) If good people fail to speak up, or to take appropriate action to bring about change, those other people who do wrong (of any kind, and for any supposed reason) frequently tend to become emboldened. All of us would be aware of people and of instances where someone's wrongdoing has continued or even escalated because they have been permitted to "get away with it". I think the nature and scale of the deed should only determine the priority, form, and timing of the response to the deed. Certainly, some things scarcely warrant a response, but even apparently small scale wrongs may bear greater impacts than are readily apparent. (Could be the thin end of a very big wedge). I know many people speak of "Karma". Some genuinely subscribe to the concept. The attitude of some others might be construed as somewhat flippant (likely due to a poor or misinformed understanding). For a concise definition of Karma, you might consider this entry from (my recently purchased copy of the) Oxford Dictionary of Philosophy: "karma (Sanskrit, deed) In Hindu and Buddhist philosophy, the universal law of cause and effect, as applied to the deeds of people. A (deliberate) good or bad deed leads a person's destiny in the appropriate direction. The ripening of the deed may take more than one lifetime, tying the agent to the cycle of rebirth, or *samsara; only deeds free from desire and delusion have no consequences for karma." So you see, Karma's "payback" just might actually be the countervailing words and actions of a good person at some point in the future, and the impact of this response forms the "destiny in the appropriate direction". In the meantime, how much unnecessary pain and hurt might be inflicted because otherwise good people "walked past" a poorly set standard? It does take courage to speak up. There are good people who will assist, and appropriate avenues to seek redress of many wrongs. If you do genuinely subscribe to the idea of Karma, you would have to consider the simple act of calling out bad deeds when you see them is itself Karmic.

Not so much a cure for dust, because dust will never be eliminated in the ordinary household, but there are a few measures you can take for minimizing it. There are 'stick-on' foam based sealing systems you can buy to put around the external architraves (door frames) which will better seal the opening. Depending upon what type of windows you have, the same product can be used for them too. Similarly the 'draught excluders' that you can place on the bottom of the door on the outside will also assist. Check around the outside of your windows too, for cavities. If there are any cavities around the windows, you can use an expanding foam filler for those. Dust will depend on your general environment. This includes any type of nearby industrial complexes to even the type of soil around your house, any pets, as well as the construction of the house itself. And we also give off 'dust' ourselves, in the form of constantly shedding skin. Tall

As for pets, none. Lucky, I have a good plumber close by to clean any cobwebs and pipes. I shall get him to check out for any cavities too. I'm sure he has something has a foam filler to plug in the hole. We don't want to hear the sound of wind whistling. 😉 Ms Foxy

No worries. If your plumber is reasonably competent, he can do those items for you with little effort. The items I mentioned are all fairly straight forward, easy to do items any DYI enthusiast could do, and if you are even a little handy, you could do them yourself too. If you have no alternatives, then you will actually need a carpenter to do those jobs. I would offer to help you, but... Tall
