another one bites the dust such a shame, despite shaky beginnings - that one really got some good material that's been lost to the ether, and a shame because there was an interesting question asked... and I never got to know the answer, and I'm steamed... Willow, so about that fist.... :p

I missed out again? In the meantime, I have a number of comments posted by friends on my stream about a thread that has gonski. 'adventure with older women '. Must have been controversial and crazy as it was gone after 2 days. 😁 The downside of having regular forumites who post regularly on controversial threads that don't exists

Sorry guys but I don't know why some of you are so surprised this thread attracts some ire, lol. It is for venting after all and we do have some strong minded characters among our crew... Better out than in, repressed anger can kill a person. ;-) Thanks again for the thread Tall, and thanks for stepping on for me back there when I wasn't here to speak for myself. I did look back a few days after I returned. :-) Maybe time for that Food Porn thread Lazy Grey or you Betty... so we can have something else to occupy our imaginations and fire us up. Mmm, that reminds me of the oven fired pizzas we used to be able to get from The Midland Markets before they burned down. Like nothing else I ever tasted, it was a joy to stop in and grab one for dinner, never again. :'-( Peachy

...all good. It was cold and rainy yesterday, wasn't it. So I made a pea and ham soup, with dried peas, corn, fresh paprika and salty pancetta chunks. Yummo! Then I toasted off a few slices of foccacia with olive oil and emmental cheese, to go with it. Mmm.. Anyway. I better try to sleep. I've got an early plane in the morning.. ☺

I'm currently scrolling the net for comfort high heels to wear when I know there will be standing required for longer than five minutes - but want to wear a heel. I feel disturbed that comfort before style is being considered at this moment in my life. Why don't they make sexy high heels with beautiful cushioning that don't compromise on style, but create zero pain for arthritis and dodgy backs? I'm having nightmares that going down this hellish path will eventually lead to wearing crocs 😕
-
RHP User

Try platforms? Still get the heel but they're not as hard on your feet because the foot's not being forced into as much of an angle.
-

You could also work on stretching out your hip flexors, that'd require less pelvic tilt when you're in tall heels, and thus less lumbar lordosis.

I wish I wasn't so tall! Platforms are being investigated today though thanks! S - I have some exercises saved. Doesn't help that my spine is fused from L4-S1. I've found one or two pairs that aren't that hideous. And I can still wear my stilettos for activities that don't require standing 😉

Just how high are you looking for in your heels ?You're already a good height, so you wouldn't really have to go too high ?Maybe some more comfortable moderate height heels will do the job as well as preserve your comfort (and sanity).Crocs - seriously. When do you want to be shot ? Tall

The only time I would wear proper heels would be when fucking or taking photos lol... going out anywhere I wear boots generally with a very small heel or flats. Even work heels are a small court shoe type heel. This may sound weird but I feel really really heavy in taller heels and fear I look like a hippo on stilts

I bet you looked sexy AF in them 😉 I've checked out all of the Pleaser shoes and boots. The ones I like either have too high a heel or too high a platform. I've shredded the ligaments in my ankles that many times I'm not very stable. But I do love a sexy heel! Missb - you could never look like a hippo! But you have to feel comfortable too which is what I'm resigning myself too. Nothing unsexier than a puckered up face in pain. Tall it's not about the height and in fact I often feel too tall in heels. I just have a stiletto fetish. Which is why it's hard to go down to a small heel. I've found some that don't look like they've come from the podiatrist that look nice. Sadly years of dancing 8 plus hours in towering stilettos, while being numbed by alcohol a few times a week has taken its toll on my bones. Kids - it will come back to bite you!

Went to the pole dancing championships! She took a video of a male pole dancer and I was so impressed. Shells - nice profile pic they are hawt woman! Summer - most of my heels are 4-6 inches. But most don't have a platform - major foot torture. If the platforms aren't just in the right spot I'll just fall sideways in them like a newborn calf 😝 I don't have the upper body strength for pole dancing. And I my skin is super soft. I can just imagine walking around with my legs covered in bruises and grazes.

Quoting 'Summersolstice' Tall's comment about Kim Kardashian. I have zero time for her as a celeb, but she is a human being ffs. But agree 100%! There is NEVER a time or place for victim blaming... anybody, male or female, should be able to wear whatever the fuck they want without misogynistic, small minded morons suggesting that they are 'asking for it'. I actually don't care if it was a publicity stunt - for anyone in a position of power to suggest that she was asking for it is completely not ok... for all of the other victims out there, for all the men who are constantly sent the message that 'boys will be boys' and for all the girls who are told not to dress a certain way, or not to drink too much, or not to walk alone... FUCK THAT! So glad my boys have enlightened parents who don't buy into any of that shit... hopefully our next generation will do better... Before anyone suggests otherwise... I LOVE MEN... and have a huge amount of respect for the men in my life... I also absolutely believe that women are the generally the first to point the finger and victim blame... It's what we have been conditioned to do... time to change things up!

Whilst Tall's post may be thought poorly worded by some, I tend to agree with him insofar as I believe anyone at all (man or woman) would have to be extremely naïve, or supremely foolish were they to genuinely believe they could openly travel with many millions of dollars worth of precious metals and stones, minimal security, frequently update their whereabouts and activities via social media, and all the while actually believe they would not present as an attractive target for thieves. I do not condone the thieves. However, we all would concede we are aware thieves do strike, and that a prudent person would take appropriate steps to guard against such prospects... What do you suppose their insurance company's investigators and underwriters will have to say about this entire episode?

I hope you strained your optic nerve just a little ;) Being a mother - I wasn't implying her life is more valuable. Her children will grow up reading things that have been written about her. And hear stories from others. Hearing or reading their mother was asking to be ripped from her bed, zip tied at gun point and forced to beg for her life, because she flashed a ring around is something no one should have to read about their mum.

The hotel she was staying at has the nickname of the "no name" hotel. It cannot be found anywhere online, in brochures etc. They get bookings via word of mouth the old fashioned way passed between very wealthy individuals. The five attackers were dressed in police gear. They got past one guard at the hotel who was asleep. And yes when you're in the limelight security is a must. It's estimated that since the attack Kimye as a couple are spending just shy of $100,000US for every 24 hours of security including armed guards. I still think it's ridiculous that anyone - celebrity or not should have to go to that extreme measure to protect their person. It's not like they are dropping bombs on innocent humans. Yes there are crazies in the world - but again that sort of behaviour is unacceptable regardless of who the person is and it's sad that people have to go to such extremes for protection.

There is a long history of (literally thousands) of wealthy, well known (and not well known) individuals who have been able to manage their affairs such that they do not need to spend inordinate sums on security and logistics (paparazzi notwithstanding). It might reasonably be suggested Kardashian has attracted the attention of these thieves specifically because of the way she has conducted her affairs. It will have been child's play for anyone at all to track her movements and follow her back to her accommodations (wherever she chose to stay). I simply point out there are proven, practical steps she could have taken before the fact to minimize, if not entirely eliminate the possibility for the theft to have taken place. I can't help but think the only point really open to debate is whether she is extremely naïve, or supremely foolish...
-
RHP User
In retrospect of what has happened to Kardashian, I don't think the armed robbery is surprising at all. The only surprising thing is that the probability of it happening eventually wasn't given a higher priority. Maybe that was just general complacency? Who knows. And who really plans for the worst? But I'm certain that this will be a harsh reminder to all celebrities who display great wealth openly and publicise the movements of that wealth to some degree. I'm just an average joe, and not in the eye of the media...and even I'm a bit uncomfortable with advertising the contents of my garage to casual pedestrians on my street. Couple that fact with a job that routinely takes me away from home for weeks at a time. Neighbours notice these things. What was that old saying from WW2...."Loose lips sink ships."

What I saw before liking Tall's comment was the French Police chief who blamed Kim for flaunting her jewellery and schedule online, making herself a target. Since then I'm reading... "Police have also made much of the fact the attackers focused on possessions they had seen and noticed on social media". I found the story I read yesterday which says the attack happened at the Hotel De Portales (aka the unknown hotel). The apartment is owned by Kanye and it was the second time Kim stayed there. It's not too clear where her bodyguard was at the the time of the attack. Other stories tell me... she likely chose not to have extra security outside her door which is part of what the hotel offers (it is not a high security hotel). She revealed her position by posting a pic of herself on the balcony showing the street below. The concierge let the police in, then led them to her apartment. "Police also remain baffled as to how the robbers got into the flat, which was protected by an armoured door locked from the inside. They left past the sleeping guard. There is remarkably, footage of the thieves riding away on bikes. There's a lot of 'should' being thrown around here. I feel like we're not talking about wearing a skimpy outfit here.
