All normal folk utterly condemn violence against women & kids as a horrid, unconscionable sad sad blight on our community. Some of these stories around violence against women and kids is utterly utterly repulsive. As a single Dad who misses his kids for the 50% of the time theyre not with me, hearing these stories really infuriates the me & the boat loads of other normal men.

No worries SA. (Is the Grrrr a vent about a particular smiley face ?, if so, let me know which one and I see if I can slam it for you ) The original idea was to allow people to let off steam (vent) on issues or things that annoy or piss them off, without any personal attacks or comments about individual people. Hopefully, so they can then comment on other threads less frustrated and with an open mind. If it helps great if not then some of the posts are helpful and entertaining. Most people associate the word "refuge" as someone having nothing. No place to go, no food etc, so can understand why they'd be confused as to why they'd have a smart phone. That and they'd be pretty useless outside their original country.

Domestic violence seems to be getting worse. Some say it has always been bad in Australia and what has changed is people not talk about it. I find it alarming that there is still a percentage of the population that think it is acceptable. I also have to wonder how much training police are getting and how much their own values are being challenged. If they actually believed women when they reported threats and harassment maybe so many women would not have died this year already. And speaking of violence, how about our idiot prime minister, on the one hand saying (reluctantly) ok we'll take some refugees from Syria where there is a war happening and then on the other saying "we're considering bombing Syria". If we look at violence through a systemic lens we can see the links between global violence and family violence, the war zone is smaller in domestic violence but equally devastating.

I started talking to a guy in April, I had met someone on here but we'd taken a break so I thought I'd try again. Me and the new guy got along and swapped to text after a certain period. Soon his tone changed and the alarm bells started ringing. But he would switch back and be great. I do block him for a few months and I met someone else. On my phone you can still access blocked messages. At one point I had 20 messages a day asking if I was ok. I eventually decided to nip it in the bud and I thought maybe I was being picky and fussy and maybe he was a great guy. So I met him for coffee in a public place. He is a nice guy. But zero chemistry. And after the coffee I did tell him that. He would send the occassional text and I would politely decline to meet for sex. For the record I have not had sex with him. For me zero chemistry means zero chance of sex! But there was an occasional polite text. My mum taught me manners.Today I inadvertently added him to what's app- the hazard of using the phone and having big fingers. Consequently I received messages and when I again politely declined sex I got abuse. But this time is was pure hatred.I'm a strong women. Very independent but I have to say it made me so angry, and I did shed a tear when I tried to think if he had information about where I lived. I have a child to think about to. He doesn't know where I live, thankfully. But if I'd been a newbie on here I would have shut down my account instantly. Needless to say he is blocked. There are many people on here who have had rejection. But most of us carry on and don't worry about it. I have met some fantastic people on here and intend to carry on doing so. I refuse to let 1 insecure idiot ruin it for me. Thanks for reading. Rant over. Feel better already. Happy Sunday RHPers

Just had a read through your postings, and might have an answer for you. Not having a mobile, I had to check out what "WhatsApp" is - it's sorta like an instant messaging service ? I would gather by what you wrote, the guy probably thought you were showing interest again when you added him to that service. But when he asked, and you declined, he could have thought you were "playing" with him, and hence the abusive responses. Not saying it's a valid way of doing things, but from the info provided, I can understand he may have felt less than pleased overall. You inadvertently did something which gave him renewed hope, and when it didn't pan out, well... But it does go to show the level of maturity too. Maybe a bit more careful screening in future, and perhaps listening to your gut instinct too. Tall

Just tossed the towel in and deleted both Datefinder entries. I seem to have more success sending messages to interesting sounding males who post replies on the forums. At least I know they can read, converse and have thinking ability .

this place sucks I do a search for women looking for me with 100k radius of Tweed Heads and get less than one page of results, most are not even close to what I prefer and most of those that I do message do not even open the message let alone get back to me. Ive lowered my age by 8 years to open up more possibilities, but that made hardly any difference. I've had similar experiences too regarding those travel notifications, and I would daresay it had applied to many on site. It just appears geography it not a strong suit of the RHP travelator - doesn't realize that you might not feel like travelling 5 hours for a meet. Tall

People from the city, where I also live, travel to smaller towns in rural WA towns that are hundreds of kilometers away from me and I get a notification that they are travelling to my area, but they're actually travelling AWAY from my area! Derrrrp. Oh but wait, RHP doesn't like open public discussion on their shortcomings and prefers to delete all trace of anyone commenting that the site isn't perfect. CountryChic, you'd think there would have to be at least a few suitable blokes around. But from what I believe, quite a lot of the younger farm hands have left for the big smoke to try and secure a future, just leaving the aforementioned married / attached, beer gutted obesely overweight smokers to content with..I truly feel for you CC. When I am on my iPhone accessing the full site none of the drop down lists work I can open them but can't select anything. In messages when I go to reply I can open the template responses but can not select one. Even on the forums I can't select to go to the last page from the drop down... what absolutely ridiculous I can't even submitted a case to customer service as I can't select the category. Frigging hilarious...NOT!
